= major delays yellow on traffic map = some delays green on traffic map = no delays green on traffic map = no delays police are seeking the driver of a car involved in an overnight hit and run. julie collins joins us from the police department with details - julie? it was around 1:30 this morning police were called to the area of atkinson and capitol. a 45-year old man was hit by a 4-door maroon or red vehicle.. police believe the car continued east on capital after hitting the man police say the victim is intoxicated however, its unknown if he was attempting to cross the street or if he was just so intoxicated and wandering around the street. the victim was taken to the hospital

officers are with him and will interview him this morning to get more details. no arrests have been made -- anyone with information about the driver should contact police. reporting live, julie collins, fox6 news. happening now - police are trying to figure out how a gun went off at thoreau elemen grazing a student in the middle of the school day. it happened yesterday afternoon. police say the supervisor of the schools resource officers was trying to speak with the 13-year-old female student about an incident that occurred several days ago. banks says thats when the girl became physically combative. "his firearm, while still in the holster discharged. it appears to be some sort of accident. were still working on, just a freak

non-life-threatening injuries. police say the incident took place in the basement of the school -- away from other students and staff members. since police are still trying to determine how the gun went off -- the incident is not being investigated as an officer involved shooting. because of that -- the officer is not being placed on any kind of leave. meanwhile... classes back in session today at saint catherine high school in racine... after students were sent home early message on a desk. after students left... police were called in to search the building. officials are not commenting right now on what was written on the desk. assembly democrats are holding a news conference this morning... and calling for a legislative investigation. this comes after the guardian published 15-hundred pages from the secret, now closed john doe investigation. angelica's following the latest developments in studio. republicans are calling for an investigation into how those documents were leaked... as governor scott walker faces

published those papers. at first... walker wouldn't say if he continues to direct corporate money to the wisconsin club for growth, as the documents show he did during 2011 and 2012. but... at a second news conference, walker said he wasn't doing that "right now." this all relates to about 15-hundred pages from the supposedly secret, now-closed john doe investigation into the governor's 2012 recall campaign. walker blames the leak itself on the john doe prosecutors. court of law have chosen to leak bits and portions of things to try to win in the court of public opinion, without giving people a full perspective milwaukee county district attorney john chisholm, who is one of the prosecutors, said yesterday that leaking john doe material is a crime. top republicans in the state assembly want attorney general brad schimel to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the leak. schimel says he's "deeply concerned" about the leak and is "reviewing" his

wind: sw 3-7 mph a man wielding a meat cleaver... attacks officers in new york city... right in the middle of rush hour last night. police say two officers were res station... when akram joudeh pulled the cleaver out from his waistband.joudeh ran away... as officers tried - and failed - to tase him. an off duty officer then joined in the case... and when he tried to stop joudeh... the suspect struck him in the head. the other officers then fired... shooting him several times. the off duty officer and joudeh were both taken to a hospital - the detective is in serious condition and the suspect is critical... but stable.

13-year-old in ohio, after apparently mistaking a b-b gun for a real gun. it all started with reports of an armed robbery in columbus. when officers approached a group of three people, two of them ran. as officers tried to take the suspects into custody, police say one of them pulled a b-b gun from his waistband. the officers... assuming it was a real gun... shot and killed 13-year-old tyree king. police are still searching for one of the teens who ran from the scene. sandra bland's family settles their wrongful deat point-nine million dollars. a texas department of public safety officer arrested bland last year during a traffic stop in waller county. three days later -- she was found dead in her jail cell -- it was ruled a suicide. bland's arrest gained national attention and caused public outrage. the trooper who arrested bland was fired after being indicted for lying about the circumstances of bland's arrest. anchors chat/toss to rob

one man in the hospital and the driver on the loose after a hit-and run on milwaukee's northside. let's go live to julie collins for more at district five this morning - julie? atkinson and capitol where police say a 45 year old man was injured. police received the call about a man lying in the middle of the road at 1:30 this morning. police say the victim of this hit and run is intoxicated and they are unsure if he was attempting to cross the street or if he was just wandering in the middle of the street when he got hit. what they do know is that the car drove away - that car is

police believe the car continued east on capital after hitting the man the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. milwaukee police say they continue to search for the driver of the vehicle. if you have any information - you're encouraged to contact milwaukee police. reporting live on milwaukee's north side - julie collins. fox 6 news. as the medical examiner faces 71 possible drug-overdoses in just seven weeks... the drug epidemic hits tragically close to home. angelica's in studio with more one of those 71 cases... is the medical examiner's own son. on monday, police were called to a report of an unconscious 29 year old man on clybourn street. paramedics used the drug narcan... but despite that, and other life saving measures, the man was pronounced dead from a probable overdose.. that man turned out to be the son of the milwaukee county medical examiner. local health experts say the death highlights just how widespread the problem of opiate addiction is in our area. unfortunately drug addiction and

investigation indicates guards had cut off water to thomas cell. the mes report notes thomas was acting erratically in jail...winding up in solitary confinement, in his cell 23 hours a day. it also notes water had been cut off to his toilet...something heipt says another inmate told them. there was at least one other inmate, if not two, that became aware that mr. thomas water had been shut off and was repeatedly urging jail guards to turn the water back on. history of mental health problems, had been charged with shooting into a group of people outside his home - hitting one man. he then is alleged to have opened fire inside potowatomi casino, later telling police too many of the people inside were snakes. heipt wonders if thomas should have been in jail to begin with, given his known mental issues. in a situation like that, you would hope that the individual would be given a swift mental health evaluation and placed in an appropriate facility. the lawyer
