we start with breaking news out of kenosha county...where a person is dead after a truck fire. morning in the town of wheatland. officials were called out to the parking lot of the best bargains store on 352nd avenue. when crews got on the scene, they were told somebody was still inside the truck, which was engulfed in flames. we're told officials are investigating the fire as suspicious. few other details are being released -- including what caused the fire and the identity of the victim. we'll continue to follow this developing story. stick with fox news online and on-air for any

driver on the loose after a hit-and run on milwaukee's northside. our julie collins has the details. the hit and run and happened at atkinson and capitol where police say a 45 year old man was injured. police received the call about a man lying in the middle of the road at 1:30 this morning. police say the victim of this hit and run is intoxicated and they are unsure if he was attempting to cross the street or if he was just wandering in the middle of the they do know is that the car drove away - that car is described as a maroon or red 4-door car. police believe the car continued east on capital after hitting the man the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. milwaukee police say they continue to search for the driver of the vehicle. if you have any information - you're encouraged to contact milwaukee police. new information about the car--

police say they are looking for a dark sedan, which should have damage to the front passenger side. the police officer was responding to a call wednesday night when his squad was hit by another car. he had to jump into his vehicle to avoid being hit by that car. the officer escaped without injury but investigators say the driver never stopped. if you have any information call mount pleasant police. milwaukee police are asking for your help in identifying a suspect in connection to a burglary on the city's northwest side. around two in the afternoon near 87th and mill road. police say a man kicked in the door of a home and stole several electronics while a woman stood as a look out. here's a look at that female suspect -- she's described as in her 20's. she was last seen wearing a pink top and blue jean shorts. the suspects took off in a dark- colored ford fusion. officials think the same suspects are also involved in similar burglaries that happened in the area that day. anyone with information is

bullet grazes her in the middle of the school day. police are trying to figure out how an officer's gun went off -- at thoreau elementary yesterday. police say the supervisor of the schools resource officers was trying to speak with the 13-year-old student about an incident that occurred several days ago. officials say thats when the girl became ph his firearm, while still in the holster discharged. it appears to be some sort of accident. were still working on, just a freak occurrence. the girl was hospitalized for non-life-threatening injuries. police say the incident took place in the basement of the school... away from other students and staff members. since police are still trying to determine how the gun went off... the incident is not

because of that... the officer is not being placed on any kind of leave. this comes just one day after two milwaukee police officers were hurt trying to take a 13-year-old student in custody at benjamin franklin school. in that case... milwaukee public schools say the student brought a pellet gun to school. the 13 year old was eventually taken into custody. the officers went to the hospital and are expected to be o-k. homicide... by dehydration. thats the ruling from the milwaukee county medical examiner o county jail this past spring. our a.j. bayatpour has the details. terrill thomas death in april comes less than two weeks after his arrest. the medical examiners report, released thursday, calls the death a homicide, noting tests revealed 'profound dehydration.' thomas family declines to comment, referring us to their seattle-based attorney. its extremely concerning and seems to confirm some of the information that we had uncovered in the course of our investigation. erik heipt says that private investigation indicates guards

notes thomas was acting erratically in jail...winding up in solitary confinement, in his cell 23 hours a day. it also notes water had been cut off to his toilet...something heipt says another inmate told them. there was at least one other inmate, if not two, that became aware that mr. thomas water had been shut off and was repeatedly urging jail guards to turn the water back on. history of mental health problems, had been charged with shooting into a group of people outside his home - hitting one man. he then is alleged to have opened fire inside potowatomi casino, later telling police too many of the people inside were snakes. heipt wonders if thomas should have been in jail to begin with, given his known mental issues. in a situation like that, you would hope that the individual would be given a swift mental health evaluation and placed in an

start...adding the familys private investigation continues. they want some additional answers and they want, they want to make sure this sort of thing never happens again. the milwaukee county medical examiners office is dealing with 71 possible drug over-doses -- in the past 7 weeks. one of those cases - is the me on monday, police were called to a report of an unconscious 29 year old man on clybourn street. paramedics used the drug narcan... but despite that, and other life saving measures, the man was pronounced dead from a probable overdose.. that man turned out to be the son of the milwaukee county medical examiner. local health experts say the death highlights just how widespread the problem of opiate addiction is in our area. experts say they don't believe the crisis has peaked yet.

accused of murdering mannix franklin junior in brown deer monday. charges have not been filed yet... but a 61-year-old man was arrested. court documents show the man admitted to firing a shotgun at franklin-- but claimed it was an accident saying: " all i was trying to do was scare him." investigators are doing tests-- to determine if the suspect was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. governor walker is speaking out about leaked documents surrounding the john doe investigation. the guardian, a british newspaper, published about 15 hund doe investigation into the governor's 20-12 recall campaign. during a news conference yesterday, governor walker wouldn't say if he solicited money on behalf of the wisconsin club for growth. the john doe case was shut down by the state supreme court last year finding nothing illegal governor walker blames the leak on the john doe prosecutors. people who failed to win in the court of law have chosen to leak bits and portions of things to try to win in the court of public opinion, without giving people a

remember a teenager-- shot and killed by an ohio police officer. police say the 13-year-old boy pulled a realistic-looking pellet gun from his waistband during a chase. officials say tyree king ran from officers after a reported armed robbery.he was shot several times during a confrontation in an alley. he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. the officer involved is a nine-year veteran of the force and is now on administrative leave. a vigil was held last night to remember the boy. in new york city-- investigations e who allegedly attacked an officer with a meat cleaver. three police officers were hurt in the incident, including an off-duty detective who's face was slashed when he tried to tackle the suspect. "all of a sudden i just see a crazy guy with a knife, a huge meat cleaver, not like a long knife, but a wide knife. " i heard a series of gunshots go off and i looked and about halfway down the block i saw people running

living in his car and was originally stopped because we was trying to remove a boot from the vehicle-- that had been illegally parked. police chased the man for several blocks after he pulled an 11-inch butcher knife. officers tried to taze him, but were unsuccessful. in all, police fired 18 shots before arresting the suspect-- who is now in critical condition. officials say the man had been arrested more than a dozen times in the last few years. in china..residents are continuing to clean up the damage left behind from typhoon meranti. the storm hit the equivalent of a category-four hurricane-- with wind gusts of up to 175 miles per hour. and before that-- it sideswiped southern taiwan-- killing at least one person and injuring more than 40 others. adlib to weather it's a mostly cloudy end to the work week for us out there, and

police are saying about an incident today inside a milwaukee elementary school. a student was injured when an officer's gun went off inside thoreau school. fox6s madeline anderson has the story. a 13-year-old girl-- hopitalized in the middle of the school day after suffering a graze wound when an officers elementary. his firearm, while still in the holster discharged.captain raymond banks says the supervisor of the schools resource officers was trying to speak with the student about an incident that occurred several days ago. banks says thats when the student became physically combative. at any time, was there any faculty, any teachers, any students anyone else in the area in any danger. many parents though initially feared the worst. the say they were left in

the death of an inmate at milwaukee county jail...is now being investigated as a homicide. the cause of his death-- dehydration. terrill thomas was found dead in his cell back in april. he was arrested less than two weeks earlier on charges of shooting a man outside his home...then firing a gun inside potowatomi casino. the m-es report says thomas was kept in solitary confinement over his erratic behavior in jail. it also notes he has a history of mental health issues. fox6 talked to the thomas familys seattle. he says theyre conducting a private investigation of their own... from what we understand, and we are still looking into this, the water in terrill thomas water was shut off and he was deprived of a life source. the m-es report does state water was cut off to thomas toilet.

sheriffs office, which runs the jail, says it is not commenting until the completion of the m-p-d investigation...as well as any possible lawsuit. governor scott walker -- facing questions for the first time since a document leak that shows he pursued corporate cash for a conservative group. those documents -- published by a british newspaper yesterday. political reporter theo keith has the latest. crosstalkat a contentious news conf walker would not say if he solicited money on behalf of the wisconsin club for growth. this is old news, this has been cleared up multiple times at first, he would not answer if he continues to direct money to the group. but, at a second news conference in neenah, the governor had a different answer. governor, do you continue to solicit donations for the wisconsin club for growth? i dont right now the guardian newspaper has published hundreds of pages leaked from the supposedly secret, now-closed john doe investigation into walker's 2012 recall campaign. investigators

coordinated with the club for growth. last year, the state supreme court shut down the investigation, finding nothing illegal. people who failed to win in the court of law have chosen to leak bits and portions of things to try to win in the court of public opinion, without giving people a full perspective walker is also answering allegations of pay to play. in 2013, the governor signed a law retroactively protecting lead paint manufacturers from health-related lawsuits. the leaked documents show one of the comp given 750-thousand dollars to the club for growth. theres a stench in this building democrats say it's a payback. but walker says he had talked about stopping "frivilous lawsuits" for years. nobody should be shocked that i did what i said i was going to do. the governor says he'd leave it up to others to decide whether to launch an investigation into who was responsible for the leak. attorney general brad schimel says he was considering that very thing. in edgerton, theo keith, fox6 news. meanwhile, the top republicans
