protesters stay out past the curfew however - as long as they remained peaceful. the protests come after an officer shot and killed 43-year-old keith lamont scott --- who officers say was armed. family members say he was carrying a book - not a gun. many are now calling for the release of police dash cam footage of the incident. the family viewed the video thursday... and their attorney says it shows scott getting out of his car peacefully. but charlotte's police chief has repeatedly said they will not release the video...since it doesn't clearly show scott ha in effect in charlotte. today marks three months since a deadly officer-involved shooting in wauwatosa. the family of jay anderson wants to know why police have released such little information. all that's been made public to this point is that at 3 a-m on june 23rd, anderson was seated in his car at madison park. police say he was in possession of a gun and something happened to make

thursday just before 6 pm in milwaukee's harambe neighborhood. police were called to palmer and chambers. witnesses describe hearing two bursts of gunfire. police say a 53 year old man was shot and taken to a local hospital where he died. police say the second victim is a 23 year old man...who suffered a non life threatening gunshot wound...was also taken to the hospital. two grandparents tells us they are thankful none of the bullets hit the kids who were playing on the block. "we heard the shooting pow pow pow and then we ran, we ran int shot who or nothing but we ran into the house i had to get all my grandkids into the house" it is not clear if the 23 year old man in the hospital was one of the shooters. police list him as a victim in their release. the relationship between both men is also still unclear. reporting live in milwaukee

largely peaceful on the streets past a midnight curfew. after a chaotic two nights that turned into a riots...the protests overnight appeared mellow in comparison. the state's governor declared a state of emergency wednesday night....after a man was shot and killed during the violent protests. police say he was shot in the head by a civilian. protesters say they will not rest until justice is served in the police shooting death of scott. more than 50 arrests have been made in connection to the violence and destruction. officer who fatally shot 40-year-old terence crutcher last week... now faces a charge of felony manslaughter in the first degree. shelby was booked at the local county jail early this morning... and released shortly after on a 50- thousand dollar bond. dashcam and aerial footage of the shooting show crutcher walking away from the officer with his arms in the air, her gun drawn. shelby's attorney says crutcher was not following orders -- and she fired when he began to reach into his vehicle.

some reason" our records at fox6 indicate this was milwaukee's 99th homicide of 2016. there were 145 people killed in the city in all of 2015...what was considered a very violent year. reporting live in milwaukee deandra corinthios fox6 news. the federal government grants five million dollars to crime in the city under control. milwaukee mayor tom barrett and other civic leaders unveiled the new violence prevention effort. officially titled the resiliency in communities after stress and trauma grant... the money comes from the substance abuse and mental health services administration. it will be used to address issues which are contributing to violence in the city. milwaukee is one of just eight cities to receive this grant. at least one person has died as a result of severe weather in wisconsin this week. a man was killed in the town of victory... south of la crosse
