we start at 11 with breaking news out of new a commuter train crashed into a major rail station -- during this morning's rush-hour commute. right now -- reports are saying one person is dead. local officials also say more than one- hundred others are injured -- many are critical. the hoboken station is a major transit hub across the hudson river from manhattan...and one of the busiest stations in the new york metropolitan area. a passenger on the train is saying it wasn't slowing down as they were approaching the stop...and that's when it crashed. one witness described the scene: i was just assisting some folks

train was there, the ceiling was collapsed on top of the train, as you can imagine, there's wiring and water pipes and things. it's just stuff everywhere. obviously, there are still a lot of questions and crews will be on the scene for some time. the national transportation investigation into what caused the crash. stick with fox 6 for the latest updates. happening now... milwaukee city leaders discussing how to tackle rampant prostitution on the city's near south side. police say they get complaints every day about what is happening between 16th and 27th on greenfield. neighbors say they're finding women passed out in the street and

prostitution has been an issue in their wards. pastor joel jaeger of christ lutheran church says he's been in the area 14 years...and says the prostitution is fueled by drug addiction. he's concerned because the church has a school attached and children often see the women on the street corners ...or the drug paraphernalia left behind. "we find needles, weve chased people sleeping in our backyard in our bushes, we find used condoms on our church steps and it doesnt seem to a be a physical threat but it is just the embarrassment and the children come to our school - what are we teaching them by allowing this t presence and shoo these females off the streets and restore this neighborhood to some stability and then get them the treatment that they need." the meeting is happening now at city hall and is open to the

the roadside memorial for sylville smith has been removed. friends and family, as you might imagine, are unhappy about it. our a-j bayatpour has the story. they removed the bottles, the shirts, the balloons, the stuff we put up here. qoulisha thompson says the family and friends of sylville smith made a deal with the neighborhood in order to keep the memoril we moved around 10:00. we wasnt loitering. sylville smith was shot dead by a milwaukee police officer on august 13th, prompting violent protests around sherman park. police say smith was brandishing a gun. authorities have yet to release body camera footage of the shooting, which the family says is now what they want most, given the release of video in charlotte of a more recent police shooting that prompted unrest. they released them videos in carolina and the video here in milwaukee still hasnt been

public works took down the memorial at the request of... khalif rainey! who's the alderman for this district. rainey didn't get back to us wednesday. police say the request comes after continued reports of late-night gatherings with loud music and public drinking. one neighbor says that was happening but things had gotten better. at first, it was like, real loud and stuff but over the past weeks, it hasnt been no problems. its been quiet. the family says it wants to be able to re-decorate the tree...but more than released. we need that footage. we're learning more about this week's murder in glendale. police have arrested a 21-year-old milwaukee man in connection to that homicide. the victim has been identified as nya hammond. she shares a child with the man in custody. hammond's mother says her daughter was the victim of domestic violence. we're told she left the man in custody after he beat her with an extension cord earlier this

are making progress, pushing back against the loma fire in the santa cruz mountains. but for some residents, it's already too late. fox's azenith smith spoke with one man who lost his house...and his best friend. branzuela says: "i was devastated. at that point i knew it was real." isaiah branzuela can't get the image of what's left of his family home..of eight years..on loma chiquita road..out of his head..burned to the ground..by the "loma" fire.. branzuela says: "not a couch not a chair not a picture all ash." the 44 year old father of three girls says losing his home - not as hard - as losing his best friend..a husky named thailin. the two inseparable, yet branzuela left him home monday..given it was such a hot day. when the fire broke out - he rushed to save thailin - hiking half a mile past road closures..but it was too late. branzuela says: "i'm heartbroken seven years he was with me

protests break out again in el cajon ca-hone , california...after the officer-involved shooting of an unarmed black man. officials say 38-year-old alfred olango was fatally shot... after pulling out a vape smoking device and pointing it at officers. demonstrations and vigils are being held in the area of the shooting and at town hall...with protesters blocking streets. officials say that preparations are in place to handle further demonstrations today. in south carolina -- a teenager is accused of killing his father and shoot elementary school. the anderson county sheriff's department says the teen walked onto the school playground with a handgun and shot them. the suspect was taken down by a volunteer fireman. police say before the shooting at the school the teen suspect also shot and killed his 47-year-old father...at his home... authorities are now looking in to why the teen began shooting. "did he have issues in school, did he have issues at home - we don't know but we are certainly going to run the gamut of everything and try to

is dead after a motorcycle accident in california. 22-year-old najee williams - graduated from brown deer high school in 20-12. not long after that, he enlisted in the marine corps. williams was stationed at camp pendleton. police say williams was on his motorcycle two weeks ago in nearby oceanside, california -- and collided with a car that made a left hand turn in front of him. his visitation and funeral will be this saturday in brookfield. hurt and frustration for roadside memorial is taken down. sylville smith was shot and killed by a milwaukee officer last month. this is all that's left at 44th and auer. police say the department of public works took the memorial down at the request of alderman khalif rainey-- after continued reports of late night gatherings. but neighbors say things had gotten better. at first, it was like, real loud and stuff but over the past weeks, it hasnt been no problems. its been

s-a-b- miller is selling its portion of millercoors to molson coors, which will now become the sole owner of the company. a millercoors spokesman says there's not much overlap between molson coors and miller coors. "the good news is that none of this impacts milwaukee or wisconsin. it'll be business as usual. miller lite, coors light, miller high life and leinenkugel's and frankly all the rest of our brands will continue to be brewed by us." millercoors officials say the company's commitment to milwaukee is as strong a quarter of a billion dollars into the milwaukee brewery and campus in recent years. the deal is expected to wrap-up within the next couple of weeks, before mid- october. you decide coverage now... polls are showing that the badger state is still a battleground. donald trump kicked off a week of campaign stops in the state for both democrats and republicans. our political reporter theo keith breaks down trump's rally in waukesha last night.
