breaking news --- crews are on the scene of a house fire near 36th and burnham in milwaukee. no word yet on what sparked the fire or if anyone was hurt. we have a crew on the way to the scene and will have a live report at 7-30. this morning police says a man is in very critical condition after an overnight shooting. investigators say it happened just before ten last night near 37th and townsend. officials say its unclear what led up to the shooting. police are searching for suspects. and several lanes in the mitchell interchange are back open after an overnight crash involving a semi. officials are not saying much about the incident at this time...but it appears a car went under a

eastbound around midnight. two lanes were closed on the system ramp to 94 eastbound. we'll bring you any updates as soon as they come into our newsroom. it could soon cost more to operate a vehicle in milwaukee county. county executive chris abele announcing a plan that could cost drivers an annual fee of 60-dollars. abele says the county cant rely on state funds to help -- and this option will generat year for milwaukee county. he says its enough to fund all the countys transportation infrastructure costs, annual bus replacements, county highway and bridge repairs. it will also help preserve the 'go pass' program -- allowing seniors and the disabled to ride the bus for free - or at a reduced cost. the county board will get a look at the proposal next week. dogs attack two teen girls in brown deer sending them to the hospital. this morning they are recovering but in serious condition.

west dean road yesterday afternoon. authorities say the dogs lived in the same home as one of the victims. brown deer police shot both dogs -- one died on scene. the other dog was taken by madacc -- the owner requested it be euthanized. an attempted armed robbery in racine county is under investigation this morning. the sheriffs office has released pictures of the suspects. take a look at your screen. investigators say two women entered the gas station on loomis road in the town norway yesterday evening from the register using a knife. they were not successful and were gone by the time deputies got to the scene. the suspects are described as two white women in their late teens to early twenties. they are believed to be driving an older buick lesabre with a tan vinyl roof. no on was hurt. one of the men responsible for the shooting death of 5-year-old laylah petersen is heading to prison. angelica is in the newsroom with reaction from petersen's family. three hours! that's all a jury needed to come back with a verdict.

found guilty on all four charges he faced. laylah petersen was sitting on her grandfather's lap in 2014, when bullets pierced through the wall killing her. investigators say, barrett and two other men were looking to kill a man acquitted of murdering one the men's family members. they fired into the wrong house. arlis gordon and paul farr have already pleaded guilty for their roles. petersen's aunt says the verdict comes with mixed emotions.
