mary thanks aj are searching for a known suspect after a homicide near 24th and auer. it happened shortly after 1-30 this afternoon... officials say the victim was shot during a fight with the suspect. first responders worked to save the man's life -- but were unsuccessful. now to a fox6 exclusive... hes safe. after being abducted -- during an alleged auto theft last night -- an infant is back with his mother, today. but, not without a critical contribution from a milwaukee

39th and silver spring, with more details. justin? the ripples of relief continue, this afternoon, as a 15-month-old baby boy returns to his spot, as the focus of his family. but, this relief arrives, only after his rescue relies on an amber alert, and an alert neighbor. today, fox 6 speaks, exclusively, to this neighbor. i notice him, right here, and he just inched-up, here, and he parked, here, like, diagonally. around 6 p-m sunday evening, and he was just about to drive away from the 5600 block of north 39th street, in milwaukee, when he noticed an unfamiliar kia ... followed by an unfamiliar honda s- u-v. the driver door opened, on the kia, and the passenger door opened, on the honda s-u-v, you know, so i dont know what kinda transaction was goin on. sullivan said he waited.. and watched the kia driver.

side, and i guess the driver jumped into the passenger seat, and they stormed down 39th street. sullivan then went to a relatives house. nearly two hours later, he, and others, received an amber alert. they looked at me and was like, didnt you just tell us this story? i was like, lemme call my mom and see if the vehicles still out there. then she looked out here. i said, call the police. dont go to the vehicle, cuz theres a baby in there. the baby was 15-month old taratino carter, whose mother, milwaukee police say, left him in her running vehicle, as she went inside a convenience store, at 60th and good hope. this is when, investigators say, a the baby inside. the car got this far, before being abandoned. i dont think thats heroic. i think thats, um, thats human instinct, and i think thats what any, natural human being, responsible human being, shoulda done, if they even notice somethin, like that. i'm told the baby was unharmed, and asleep, when he was discovered in the vehicle. in fact, it must have been a pretty sound sleep, because, im told a neighbor checked the vehicle,

milwaukee police say they continue searching for a suspect, this afternoon. this is the latest, in milwaukee. im justin williams, fox 6 news. brad thanks justin a 23 year old man turns himself into police this morning. officials say he was driving a car that crashed into another car-- an uber-- and killed three, then took off. fox6's myra sanchick is live at second and clybourn where the accident happened. one of the victim's parents live in menomonee falls. they were notified sunday of this horrrific crash. the crash was heard several blocks away. it was loud, it sounded like a boom two mangled cars left first responders doing a lengthy task of getting those in an uber ford fusion out

officials say the hit and run driver took off. killed in the crash, ashley sawatske, whose family lives in menomonee falls, lindsey cohen and amy taylor, all from chicago. an investigative report says the women were headed to the kimpton journey hotel. police say the lexus ran a red light at a high rate of speed and crashed into the uber. the driver of the uber is hospitalized raising money for his medical bills on go fund me sites. as for the hit and run driver, we are not identifying him until he is charged. however police say monday morning he turned himself in. we've learned that 23 year old has a history of drunk driving and driving with a revoked license. the injured uber driver is expected to survive. live in milwaukee myra sanchick fox6 news

the victims once worked together for a company called energy b-b-d-o.. in chicago. the company released a statement today, saying in part: "the grief of their absence is felt deeply across our energy b-b-d-o family". one of the women-- ashley sah-what- skee sawatszke -- most recently ?worked for leo burnett. that company also responded, saying -- sawatzke was a valued and loved member of the leo burnett family. go to our website, fox six now dot com -- or your fox six news details on this story. a go fund me account has been set up for the uber driver. you'll find a link on the "links" page. a department of corrections officer pleading not guilty today to a shooting outside of a milwaukee night club. 22-year-old lillie jones faces multiple charges in connection with the october 16th incident. she's accused of shooting a 23-year- old woman after a dispute with her inside the onyx night club near 31st and lancaster. jones -- who works at taycheedah correctional facility -- is charged with

house speaker paul ryan's predecessor -- is now threatening ryan's hold on the job. political reporter theo keith is in the newsroom. theo, this all has to do with donald trump. even if ryan wins re-election, which is likely, and republicans keep control of the house -- suddenly not a lock -- ryan's speakership is in doubt because of dissent in his own party. nats -- hey everybody from fall fest speaker paul ryan is trying to prevent donald trump's plungi that would allow democrats to regain control of the u-s house. yet some republicans, unhappy with ryan's refusal to defend trump, are threatening the speaker's job. a lot of the people who believe so desperately that we need to put donald trump in the white house, they question the loyalty of the speaker. i do think there will be real discussions after november 8 on who our leadership will be and what that will look

seats in the house, uwm professor mordecai lee says ryan's job becomes tougher. it could happen to him what happened to his predecessor. it could happen that a minority of his caucus is so unhappy that they could prevent the caucus from really operating ryan's team responded, "the speaker is fighting to ensure we hold a strong majority next congress, and he is always working to earn the respect and support of his colleagues." we note, the speakership and ryan's seat in congress are challenger in wisconsin's 1st district sees a link if republicans try to oust the speaker. if he really has aspirations for the presidency in 2020, there is that possibility that he might decide to resign from congress it might seem like a long shot, but stranger things have happened this campaign year, so i wouldnt put it out of the realm of possibility lee views that as unlikely. i dont see paul ryan doing that. paul ryan loves being in congress, he loves working on public policy ryan's team responding to that

brad, this year's matchup in the fall classic features the longest combined drought in world series history, 174 years..... cleveland last won the series in 1948 when harry truman was president of the united states... and it was 1945 when the cubs last made an appearance... check out this vintage film.... chicago hasn't won a world series since 1908, which is an awful lot of wait 'til next years.... one of these teams is going to be the 2016 champion..... "tomorrow both clinton and trump are criss-crossing the sunshine state, where over one million people have already mailed in their ballots. in washington, lauren blanchard, fox news." it's time for your news and weather together. a 14-year-old milwaukee boy is killed after crashing a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a fox valley i-hop. grand chute police say about 11-30 last night-- they pursued the vehicle after recognizing it from a reckless driving case. once the pursuit reached speeds of 100 miles an hour, police backed off. that's when the driver lost control of th investigators say the teen had stolen his uncle's car in oshkosh. the racine county sheriff's department is looking for an escaped inmate. officials say thomas clodfelter walked away from a work release job site yesterday evening. he's about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs roughly 190 pounds. if you have any information on his whereabouts-- please call authorities. all of the drugs dropped off during saturday's "drug take back" event are being sorted and boxed today. unused or expired medications were

celebrating 20 years in the neighborhood. honors today -- for the north shore bank branch on martin luther the branch is credited for being one of the first banks to move into the harambee neighborhood. fox6's jonathon gregg shows us how bank staff are reliving the last 20 years -- by unveiling a time capsule. "another business that was not hear 20 years ago." 20 years may not seem like a very long time. but a lot of good can be done. "there were very few branches in the central part of milwaukee at that point in time." in that time neighborhoods can change
