make sure he was not armed with a bomb. we had a negotiator on scene today that had initial contact with him through the robot the hazardous device sent in. overall i'd describe our suspect today as cooperative. he followed the instructions we gave him. that helped defuse the situation rather quickly the suspect was arrested but the danger wasn't over. the device was still inside and the kenosha county hazardous device unit used a robot to bring it out. they detonated it. not once, not twice but three times to make sure it wasn't live. there was a device that appeared to be explosives . as far as having wires and everything like that whtt know at this point when the danger their cars and the mall was reopened. police say they have the suspect in custody and are right now investigating to determine how and why what should have been a quiet day at the bank, was anything but. kenosha police say there were no injuries and they are currently interviewing the suspect who is under arrest . live in kenosha myra sanchick fox6 news

connection to a kenosha homicide. here are four of the suspects -- charged with first degree intentional homicide. authorities won't release the mugshot of the fifth suspect -- because he's only 16 years old. the suspects are accused of shooting and killed "willie owens" last monday. prosecutors say there was some sort of fight in the home. all five suspects returned later and shot owens. the woman convicted of killing two men in a crash last december is 24-year-old jasmine ray will also serve another ten years of extended supervision. 59-year-old darrell thompson and 57- year-old terry jackson were killed in the crash on the morning of december 30th. ray pleaded guilty in september to two counts of homicide by vehicle -- and use of a controlled substance. were learning more about the victims of a deadly crash on i-94 wednesday night in dane county. three milwaukee accountants were killed-- and a

state patrol says an suv drove against traffic... colliding with two vehicles. fox6s madeline anderson joins us with more. the four co-workers-- all in their twenties-- were coming back from a recruiting and networking event in la crosse when the crash occurred. the company they worked for... ritz- holman... said yesterday it lost three of its best and brightest. today... their loved ones told me over the phone... they were just as special in their personal lives. branches become bare... we're reminded the holiday season is fast approaching. she loves christmas. its hard to imagine holidays without her. but for kellly radtke... what used to be a happy time now brings heartache. this is the first year her younger sister wont be around for the celebrations. the person that i would just sit and joke with at all family parties isnt going to be there. like, we had so much stuff that was just between the two of us, and like now, no ones going to get it. kim radtke was killed

deerfield struck the car she was in. with her... clenton hall of waterloo and katey pasqualini of milwaukee.. who also died... and brian falk of whitefish bay... who suffered serious injuries. its a lot to deal with. i knew more than one person in that car. katey's mother melodee pasqualini says her daughter and clenton were in love im angry that they didnt get to fulfill their lives, they didnt get to get children. wisconsin state patrol says the driver of the suv suffered life- threartening injuries. alcohol may be a contributing factor. kelly says no matter what the cause is... it won't bring back her 28-year-old sister who had just bought a house in pewaukee and gotten a puppy with her long-time boyfriend. she was talking to my mom about how she was going to decorate her new house because it was her first christmas there. she was just starting her life. another car was hit in that crash... the driver.. a

ongoing. no charges have been filed at this time. vice- president joe biden goes on the attack against donald trump and senator ron johnson during a campaign stop in madison. political reporter theo keith is just back from that rally. he joins us from the newsroom. biden was here to campaign for hillary clinton. but it was clear he was also trying to shore up support for russ feingold. madison, vice president joe biden spent just as much time knocking senator ron johnson as he did donald trump. biden clearly knew this: russ feingold is now in a dead heat with johnson, leading by a single point in the marquette law school poll ... while hillary clinton is ahead of trump by six. these guys are from the same policy perspective. they seem to be carbon copies of each other not in character, but in terms of their positions johnson

bev thanks theo during a ron johnson campaign stop today featuring house speaker paul ryan in mosinee -- a power outage caused some problems shortly before the event began... associated press reporter scott bauer tweeting this picture this morning... you can see -- well, not much inside "crystal finish systems" -- because of the outage... so instead -- they moved the event outside... where ryan made a pitch for johnson -- while johnson himself focused on russ feingold. he'll be here in our area on sunday -- holding a rally at the state fair grounds in west allis... his running mate mike pence will be in mukwonago tomorrow -- appearing with paul ryan and ron johnson. as for hillary clinton... she appeared earlier today in pittsburgh before heading to detroit. a primary focus at many of her campaign rallies have been early voting -- and actually getting people to the polls before election day. it appears that's a message that has resonated with voters here in milwaukee. city leaders anun 2012 has already been broken -- and more votes are expected. if you do plan to vote in milwaukee before election day on tuesday... today is your last chance to register and cast a ballot at early voting sites. polling locations in the city will be open tomorrow -- but only for voters who are already registered. you can still register- and- vote on election day. meanwhile -- one republican leader is looking ahead to

a.j. bayatpour is live at midtown shopping center, one of ?three voting locations in milwaukee with that story... milwaukee officials say in addition to downtown there have been two additional sites - this one for the north side has had a line out the door all day. speaker robin vos says republicans will likely revisit the issue next year. he says its a matter of having the same set of rules statewide. the line is a constant friday afternoon at the early voting location in midtown shopping center. a day earlier, milwaukee mayor tom barrett announces more than 38-thousand city voters already cast ballots - a record for the city. we always felt that if we had more locations and more hours, that more people would want to vote early. milwaukee can have extended early voting hours and three early polling places thanks for a federal

judge james peterson struck down limitations passed by the republican-led legislature. their argument is uniform early voting hours ensure an even playing field for rural communities that cant afford to staff multiple locations and hours that match milwaukees. the judge disagreed, writing 'i am persuaded that this law was specifically targeted to curtail voting in milwaukee without any other legitimate purpose.' we always felt our vote was being suppressed. attorney rick esenberg, from the conservative wisconsin institute for law and liberty expects at least part of the judges under appeal, to be overturned. at least the striking down of the limitation on the length of the early voting period is likely to be reversed. esenberg says republicans could move to eliminate early voting entirely - after all, there are 13 states that dont have it. he says, thats unlikely though, instead, seeing a possible push to make uniform early voting hours while allowing milwaukee

couldnt take it fredrick wright has been at children's hospital since early sunday morning... ?staying with his son dominick, who was hurt in the fire. wake up, fire alarm is going off kid is screaming his head off, dominicks parents stepped away from his bed.. to ?tell me what their little boy went through... im rushing to the living room he is huddled in the corner by the chair, i pushed him aside and immediately try to fires all in my living room the ?fire caused severe injuries. mostly second degree burns minor 3rd degree burns from his feet to his upper thighs, both legs his blanket got burned while he was probably sleeping he probably threw the blanket down and walked right through it right through the fire all the result-- of arson. they said there was a slit in the screen there was no slit

a result of those charges. a woman who was on the fbi's most wanted list is heading to prison. a milwaukee county judge sentenced tequila cole to 30- years behind bars today. cole pleaded guilty to homicide charges back in september for the 2014 murder of alonna thomas. police say cole shot and killed thomas during an argument near 29-th and locust. cole turned herself in back in may at the milwaukee county jail. you can catch veterans day parade tomorrow in downtown milwaukee. more than one-thousand veterans and military from all over southeastern wisconsin will be marching through the streets. it all starts at 11 in the morning and ends at the war memorial. there-- they'll have military displays to honor those lost in service to our country.

corner -- because the salvation army's red kettles are back for another season of giving. fox6's carl deffenbaugh has more on the campaign. as of friday morning, a familiar sound was back in the air. the ringing of bells marking an unofficial start to the holidays. 'we begin on the streets, in front of the stores. our annual red kettle campaign begins today. youll hear the bell until christmas eve.' that sound is synonymous with the red kettle campaign, the salvation armys largest fundraiser of the year. 'the money thats collected helps individuals right now,

budget for the coming year.' accompanying the familiar sound was a familiar face at fridays kickoff breakfast. fox six's very own tom pipines helping set the course for this years drive. 'this years lofty goal is, everybody, four million dollars.' thats four million dollars in just milwaukee county alone. by black friday there will be kettles at around 100 locations throughout the area. and the need is very real. sleeping in salvation army beds every night of the year. were helping families, were giving away toys, were giving away food. all types of assistance.' and all it takes to help out is literally-- a drop in a bucket. carl deffenbaugh fox6 news. according to major merritt -- the money raised in milwaukee county helps support more than 80 critical programs and services that the salvation army runs throughout the area.
