we start this morning with breaking news --- former u-s attorney general janet reno has died. nicole is in the newsroom with details. according to her family, reno reportedly passed away at her home in miami after a 20-year battle with parkinson's disease. reno was the first woman appointed to attorney general, during bill clinton's presidency. she served eight years in office-- but was never considered part of tenure was marked by the deadly showdown at religious compound in waco, texas in 19-93. also the custody battle over young cuban immigrant elian gonzalez. reno ran unsuccessfully for governor of florida in 2002. she was rarely been seen in public since then. reno was 78 years old. breaking overnight --- a two alarm fire keeps milwaukee firefighters busy. just after midnight crews were called to this abandoned warehouse near 15th and st. paul there were no injuries...and

online! a terror alert --- the f-b-i says they've been warned al-qaeda is planning an attacks in three states today. and clean up gets underway this morning after a powerful earthquake rattles oklahoma. jessob is in the newsroom with details. a five-point-oh magnitude earthquake strikes the town of cushing, oklahoma. it happened around 7-45 last night. it was felt by people in several other states-- including texas, kansas and missouri. poic was "quite a bit of damage" in the town, and there are concerns the quake may have damaged key infrastructure. officials say a few minor injuries have been reported. virginia... texas... and new york are on high alert for a terror attack. in a statement... the f-b-i said it was working closely with local law enforcement... and that all possible security threats are regularly assessed ahead of election day. sources say no specific locations are mentioned within those states... and the intelligence is still being assessed.
