--- the battle for wisconsin's u-s senate seat. republican incumbent ron johnson says he needs record turnout in the milwaukee suburbs to win today. johnson has pulled into a virtual dead heat in his rematch with russ feingold. he ended his four-day statewide bus tour at a g-o-p office in waukesha. despite record- breaking early voting in the democratic strongholds of milwaukee and madison, the johnson campaign says it can make up the difference on election day with the g-o-ps ground game honed during governor scott walkers recall campaign. turnout here in waukesha, we need a record turnout johnson has closed the gap in his race even though some national republican groups counted him out earlier this year. they have blitzed the airwaves over the past week trying to push him over the top. meanwhile, democrats are rallying around u-s senate candidate russ feingold before today's election. feingold made several stops across the state yesterday...

vote once again today. minsker attributes her long life to staying calm, and being well taken care. this year marks the 100th anniversary of the national women's party, which is credited with helping american women earn the right to vote. right now many people are honoring one of the women to spark the movement. voters across the country are visting susan b. anthony's gravesite in rochester. they've left flowers, notes and 'i just voted' stickers. anthony played a pivotal role in the women's suffrage movement. she died in rochester in 1906, 14 years before women on to vote.
