you are watching fox 6 news at 11. now at eleven... election day 20-16 is finally here... the presidential nominees already casting their votes... hometown in new york earlier this morning. the presidential nominee and her husband former president bill clinton voted in chappaqua, new york. donald trump also casts his vote in new york... the presidential nominee voted in manhattan alongside his wife, melania. however, there may be no home field advantage for the republican candidate. new york and its twenty-nine electoral votes are expected to go to clinton as the state has voted democrat in the last seven presidential elections.

to cast their ballot for president. it comes after hillary clinton and donald trump hit several states yesterday in a last-ditch to woo voters. fox's lauren blanchard has more from new york. on cam election day has finally arrived and after a nearly two year long campaign season, voters will decide who will be the next president. hillary clinton casting her ballot today just hours after flying home from a whirlwind final day of campaigning. clinton says "..you kw much responsibility goes with this and so many people are counting on the outcome of this election." trump says "..and, massachusetts is represented by pocahontas, right? polls opened at 7 am. some people were here as early as 6 am to make sure they were first to vote and didnt have to wait any longer. for people who are registering today, it is taking a bit longer. the lines slowed down at the zeidler building after the pre-work rush. around 9 am, there was still a wait, but the line didnt wrap from one end of the building to the other. voters mind the 45 minutes theyve spent standing in line...its part of what election day is all about. it's one of the closest races --- the battle for wisconsin's u-s senate seat. republican incumbent ron johnson says he needs record turnout in the milwaukee suburbs to win today. johnson has pulled into a virtual dead heat in his rematch with russ feingold. he ended his four-day statewide bus tour at a g-o-p office in waukesha. despite record- breaking early strongholds of milwaukee and madison, the johnson campaign says it can make up the difference on election day... we not only need a really good turnout here in waukesha, we need a record turnout johnson has closed the gap in his race even though some national republican groups counted him out earlier this year. meanwhile, democrats are rallying around u-s senate candidate russ feingold before today's election. feingold made several

shootings. the first happened near 47th and clarke just after nine last night. police say a 25-year-old man and 27-year-old woman were riding bicycles when a suspect confronted them. during the confrontation, the suspect pulled out a gun and began shooting. both victims hit and taken to the hospital and expected to survive. about an hour later - police were called to 49th and luscher after a 29-year-old man was shot. officials say the man was called to the scene of an on-going fight...and when he showed up...someone started shooting at him. the victim was taken to the is expected to be ok. then at around 11-15 -- a 27-year-year old man was shot near 23rd and greenfield. police say he was in a fight with two other people when someone shot him. the victim was treated on the scene and taken to the hospital. again --- all the victims in these cases expected to survive...and police continue to search for suspects in each case. the latest on the man who has been linked to seven deaths in south carolina... what officials discovered on his property. and funerals being held for the

investigation of a fatal hit and run of a 5-year old girl. milwaukee police have just confirmed they located the

looking for the vehicle after 5-year-old rickyia langham. was killed while crossing the street with her mother. this happened on sunday near leon terrace and constance avenue. the vehicle was recovered last night on the north side. one person has been arrested and police are still looking for the known driver. a memorial fund has been set up for rickyia at educator's credit union. a community vigil will be held near the accident site tonight. across america now... authorities have discovered a third body on the property of a man who has beeni deaths. the bodies have been discovered on the property of todd kohlhepp in south carolina. he has confessed to four murders that happened back in 2003. he was arrested after a missing woman was found alive chained up in a metal container last week. investigators have spent the last several days digging for remains. the bodies have not been identified yet. the medical examiner's office is expected to begin its investigation today. the f-b-i and homeland security are also assisting in the

massacre in orlando, florida, could soon be in for a major makeover. the city has announced plans to buy the pulse nightclub and eventually convert the site into a memorial. orlando mayor buddy dyer says the site should probably remain as-is for the next years. back in june the gunman stormed into the nightclub killing 49 people before the was shot and killed by police. a funeral will be held today for one of the two iowa officers killed in an ambush attack laste law enforcement officers came to honor sergeant anthony berminio in west des moines. he was shot and killed sitting in his patrol car just minutes after officer justin martin was shot in nearby urbandale. an urbandale man has been charged in both killings. services will be held for officer martin in his hometown of rockwell city later today.

our carl deffenbaugh is live in brookfield tracking voter turnout. but let's start with our deandra corinthios who is live downtown milwaukee with what you need to know before you cast your ballot. the polls open at 7 am and close at 8 pm so far weve seen close to 3 thousand voters cast their ballot at the zeidler building... and some people were lined up to vote before the doors even opened. officials are expecting a turnout of nearly 70 percent today for this election ...the voter i-d law is in effect. but that expected turnout is right in line with the two past presidential elections when photo i-ds were not required. election officials were prepared for

5-year-old rickyia langham. was killed while crossing the street with her mother. this happened on sunday near leon terrace and constance avenue. the vehicle was recovered last night on the north side. one person has been arrested and police are still looking for the known driver. a memorial fund has been set up for rickyia at educator's credit union. a vigil will be held near the accident site tonight. and a breaking news update in another fatal hit and run. police arrested the 27-year old driver involved in the accident. a 50-year-old woman was vehicle near 60th and norwich yesterday afternoon. we're told she was hit in a crosswalk. the driver did stay on scene...and cooperated with police. the driver faces charges of operating after suspension causing death. milwaukee county residents will have to pay a little more to register their vehicles. the county board passed a new 30- dollar vehicle registration fee for residents yesterday. that's on top of the 75-dollar state fee.

originally proposed a 60 dollar wheel tax in his 20-17 budget plan. abele says it would help pay for items like road maintenance and repairs. the city of milwaukee is working to keep residents safe after lead was discovered in the water of about 70-thousand homes. they partnered with a-o smith, and the united way of greater milwaukee and waukesha county to provide water filtration products to those impacted. one is a countertop unit, the other is a filtration pitcher. health commissioner bevan baker says the city will start with those most vulnerable. to reach bottle fed infants. thats a key public health concern and we want to reach families where there is a pregnant or nursing mother there and any children under the age of 6 living in that home." the products will be distributed later this month. a local company is making it easier for you to get out and vote today... what bublr bikes is offering...today only...and the

and your family but i recommend you not doing it. her doctor raised concerns about zika -- a mosquito-borne virus that's been linked to birth defects in several countries. local transmission of the virus ... has been reported in florida. a vacation is just not worth that. i'm not sure anything is worth that. jessica's family was supposed to stay near orlando ... about 240 miles away from the active zika transmission zone. still too close for comfor i got all of the money back for everything except from the airlines. in late july ... this was the original fax we sent. she asked american airlines for a refund of the tickets ... worth about 500 dollars ... and sent them a note from her doctor. this is to certify that jessica schneider is unable to fly. but getting a refund from the airlines ... wasn't easy. talked to the representative three or four different times. contact 6 reached out to several

and delta ... all handle zika related refunds on a case-by-case basis. it is difficult to just have a policy and reimburse everyone who just doesnt want to go. flora fuller at bayside travel ... says airlines will generally offer alternate destinations ... travel dates ... or vouchers. but getting any of those things ... could depend on the date of cancellation ... and whether you're traveling directly into a zika transmission zone. normally fuller would ... but that may not work in this case. most travelers insurance do not cover zika. eventually american airlines offered jessica vouchers for her tickets ... but they were only good for one year ... and were not transferable. me being due in february, we're not gonna go anywhere. out of options ... she turned to contact 6. i was getting absolutely no where until i contacted you guys. we reached out to the airlines ... and soon after... jessica got a call from someone at company

have been an issue. we're sending an email with your vouchers you can use them however you like. these vouchers must be used within a year ... but they are transferable to friends or family ... which is what schneider wanted. now she can finally put this all behind her ... their legs are so little and that's good ... because right now... she has more important things to think about. this is my absolutely favorite one. american an interview for this story. overall ... our impression from a lot of the airlines is there's no clear policy on zika travel ... and you just have to call customer service to talk it over. and you may be charged a fee to
