= major delays yellow on traffic map = some delays green on traffic map = no delays new overnight - one woman is killed... and another injured... after a shooting near 76th and glenbrook. police say a 30-year- on scene. a 57-year-old was taken to the hospital-- she is expected to recover. police say they have identified a shooting suspect: the husband of the woman who died. no word yet on what led up to the shooting. and in pleasant prairie -- several people recovering from a multi-vehicle crash. officials say that a 17-year-old girl was going over 65-miles per hour near highway h and bain station road...when the vehicle went airborne -- and then ran head-on into another car. a father and daughter were taken to the hospital. the

inside. none of them suffered any major injuries - according to police. today people protesting around the country...and in milwaukee...against the construction of a controversial oil pipeline the pipeline would stretch from north dakota to illinois. deandra corinthios is live downtown...where a rally is planned later this morning. today is national day of action..and more than 200 protests are planned across the u-s against the north dakota access pipeline... at 10 am...demonstrators are set to gather outsd fargo in milwaukee...a bank that has helped finance the project. on monday north dakota's state capitol building was on a "soft lockdown" due to protesters. people also marched in the streets of bismarck. the proposed pipeline would shuttle about 470-thousand barrels of crude oil daily from north dakota to illinois...going through south dakota and iowa. supporters say the pipeline will provide energy

duffin ordered brendan dassey's release... under the supervision of the u-s probation office. his legal team at northwestern's center on wrongful convictions of youth applauding the news in a statement online: "we are in the process of making arrangements for his release and hope that brendan will be reunited with his family by thanksgiving." meanwhile the wisconsin department of justice says attorney general brad schimel intends to fight the decision by filing an emergency motion in the seventh circuit seeking a stay of this release order. criminal defense attorney familiar with the case: i would imagine that the 7th circuit is going to issue a decision one way or another with regard to that decision, sometime within the next week to 10 days or so. in 2005... a then 16-year-old dassey confessed to helping his uncle steven avery rape and kill theresa halbach. fast forward to 2016... judge duffin ruled in august... dassey's statement's to investigators were coerced.

is currently appealing. fox6 has been following this case from the beginning. to check out our collection of avery stories going back as far as 2003 --- search "avery archive" on fox6 now dot com or the fox6 news app. milwaukee public schools... now investigating after an eight year old brought a gun to school. angelica has the latest in studio. thankfully, that gun was unloaded. policesa lafollette school a little after one yesterday afternoon. fox 6 obtained a copy of a letter sent home to the schools parents. it says staff members were told a student had a weapon and that faculty were able to confiscate that weapon. m-p-s declined to comment, saying any information would need to come from police. m-p-d says officers discovered that the child took the gun from home. milwaukee police say the district attorneys office will be reviewing the case in the coming days to

the mother dead.... with signs of a struggle. police say the family had just moved to stamford from new jersey this weekend. a georgia father has been found guilty of murder for leaving his son in a hot car in 2014. prosecutors say justin ross harris intentionally locked his son in the car because he wanted to be free of family responsibilities. the prosecution showed evidence that harris was "sexting" with six women on the day of his son's death... one was a minor. harris be sentenced on december 5th-- and could spend the rest of his and with the 90th macy's thanksgiving day parade just a week-and-a-half away... isis is calling it an "excellent target" for terrorists. in an online magazine isis called for lone wolves to carry out truck driving attacks on spectators, similar to the attack that killed nearly 90 people in nice, france over the summer. n-y-p-d officials say these warnings are meant to scare people... but police will be ready... with extra security in place. coming up on wakeup - amazon... adding more services right here in milwaukee. what you'll be able to order...

in milwaukee dc fox6 news. now developing - a federal judge has ordered brendan dassey be released from prison while prosecutors appeal an already overturned conviction. brendan dassey has until noon to tell authorities where he plans to live now that the judge has ordered his release. he was convicted in 2007 of helping his uncle steve he was 16 years old at the time. fast forward to 2016...a judge ruled in august... dassey's statement's to investigators were coerced. he overturned dassey's conviction which the state is currently appealing. wisconsin attorney general brad schimel is expected to fight the decision... by filing an emergency motion in the seventh circuit seeking a stay of this release order. meanwhile-- dassey's uncle -- steven avery -- is still

community. to have something like this happen in his community its very wrong. friends and family have planned a tribute benefit in his honor. the details of that -- and a link to a go fund me page for funeral expenses -- are both posted on our website, fox 6 now dot com no one is in custody at this time... for demge's murder. milwaukee police have arrested a suspect in a series of sexual assaults the past week. at least three women reported being tt area near 76th and good hope road. two attacks were reported tuesday --- a third on friday. saturday police made the arrest. the victim in friday's assault says she was raped at gunpoint, pistol whipped, and choked after being grabbed off the sidewalk. we spoke to that 17 year old victim's mother. its disturbing. i haven't slept. i'm a nervous wreck you know. i think i'm in more pain than her cuz sh'es still in shock. but im taking it worse because of he put her through something she wasn't ready for yet.

scammers are at it again claiming to be from the i-r-s. theyre taking aim at people who are covered under obamacare and pl program. contact 6's jenna sachs explains how the scam works and reveals the red flags to look for so youre not the next victim. natsot: knocking certified public accountant anthony dalessio was alerted to an email that claims to be from the internal revenue service demanding an immediate payment. he wants to get advice from id-theft expert adam levin in order to warn his own clients. levin says at first glance it might look legitimate. "this notice is just a further indication of how sophisticated and creative that scammers and identity thieves have become." consumer

says this latest scam targets people with insurance through the affordable care act, alleging they owe additional money for their coverage.a closer look reveals several red flags. the first is the email itself. "the irs will never send you an email out of the blue. you should know that if money is owed the notice will be sent by regular mail." another red flag - the fake notice instructs that the check, in this case for $325, be made out o united states treasury, not the irs." and, where you send the check is also probably phony. the irs says the address on this one in austin, texas is not an official processing center. "if you get this type of fake irs email do not open any attachments or click on any links it may have. immediately forward it to phishing@irs.gov and then delete it." to get rid of it permanently, levin
