traffic map = major delays yellow on traffic map = some delays green on traffic map = no delays recount ... in milwaukee county...it got off to a slow start...but so far only very few problems with the votes. deandra corinthios is live from the milwaukee election commssion warehouse with what's ahead today. ballot counting begins at 8 am 8 absentee ballots in milwaukee county were rejected due to errors. and...one of the voting machines had to be fixed. thursday elections commissioners

two of the 30 voting machines being used in the recount... but a supporter of green party candidate jill stein objected. milwaukee county commissioners then decided to test all 30. one of them was broken, and had to be fixed that's why they didn't start counting votes until three hours past the original start time. the first city of milwaukee ballots finally got fed through the machines just after noon. suburban ballots, two hours later. besides 130 inspectors, representatives from parties were also here to challenge questionable ballots. "there have been a couple that have been rejected because they were improperly filed " hillary clinton trails donald trump by over 22,000 votes. there is no indication the numbers have shifted very much after the recount's first day. the deadline to finish the recount is december 12 reporting live in milwaukee deandra corinthios fox6 news.

the first ballot wasn't fed through the machine there until 10-30 last night. angelica joins us now with the details. workers in waukesha county stayed until midnight feeding ballots through the machines. workers spent most of the day yesterday validating absentee ballots and the ballots that were cast on election day-- making sure everything is filled out correctly. the county clerk says she hopes by solving problems early in the process, they won't be repeated later. i think kind of just getting the steps understood among the board of canvassers, its a very we resolve issues early in the process, they will not occur again and the timing and speed will pick up. waukesha county workers are planning to continue the process starting at nine this morning. visit fox6 now dot com or the fox6 news app -- and click the "politics" tab to get regular updates on wisconsin. we'll also have links

the milwaukee county board will meet this morning... they are expected to discuss new documents that show milwaukee county paid 11 million dollars in pension payments to retirees last month. it was to make up for underpayments made to county employees who have already retired. and they're due another 6 million. county chairman theo lipscomb says county executive chris abele acted too slowly. abele says ...he could only act once the i- a milwaukee county supervisor is calling for the resignation of milwaukee county sheriff david clarke. in a statement supervisor "supreme moore omokunde" says it needs to happen before quote "more people die". he says four people have died in the milwaukee county jail in the last six months-- including a newborn baby. the child's mother has sued the sheriff's office. omokunde claims clarke has "abdicated his responsibility to hold his officers accountable."

supervisor's name to a comic book character -- and saying the supervisor is upset that clarke helped donald trump get elected president. a milwaukee police officer could get a promotion, even after spending time behind bars. sergeant john corbett was pulled over in rural fond du lac county for o-w-i back in november 2010. dash cam shows him taking a field sobriety test. a police report says his 13 -year-old daughter was in the car and she had been driving earlier. corbett p-d for 60 days. he served 30 days in jail with work release and lost his license for 15 months. the milwaukee police department says he also lost $17-thousand dollars because of the incident. the fire and police commission will meet monday to determine whether corbett receives a promotion to lieutenant. an apparent road rage incident in louisiana-- turns deadly. what witnesses say they saw moments before a former nfl star was killed. a scary day for a utah junior high after a student begins shooting a

low: 28 wind: nw 3-7 mph a former nfl running back is dead after an apparent road rage shooting in louisiana. 28-year-old joe mcknight was part of an argument at an intersection in a new she saw a man yelling at another, with someone trying to apologize as the man shot him multiple times. police have identified the shooter. mcknight played at usc, before going to the nfl in 2010, where he played for the new york jets and kansas city chiefs. in utah-- parents rush to a junior high school after a student fires a gun inside the school. police say a 15-year-old student pulled a gun inside a classroom yesterday morning and fired it into the ceiling. he then pointed the gun at his neck. officials say a teacher and

student-- which authorities say may have delayed further violence. the student's parents came to the school and disarmed the teen. police say the student that fired the gun did not point it anyone other than himself. he's been booked into a juvenile detention facility on multiple charges. more than 700 people... that's how many have been killed so far this year in chicago. it's the first time in nearly 20 years the city's recorded more than 700 murders. compare that 468 murders in 2015... police superintendent eddie johnson says poor education and of the problem. police also say more than 90-percent of the murders this year have been gun- releated. most of the crime is happening in districts on chicago's south and west sides. families-- coming back to ashes left from massive wildfires in tennessee. we're taking a look at some before and after photos of the area. the ceo of starbucks is stepping down... but he's not leaving the company altogether. details on his next project for the coffee chain. the badgers are getting ready for a big game against penn

customer agreements to derail class action lawsuits. the fine print requires customers to settle their claims behind closed-doors instead of open court. customers in utah filed a class action lawsuit, saying the bank opened accounts in their name that they didn't sign up for. regulators say there were as many as two million of these fake checking and credit card accounts. eleven people-- now confirmed dead following raging wildfires in tennessee. and several others are still missing. rescue around the clock, putting out brush fires and searching for survivors. alice hagler was one of those people killed in the fire. her family says it all happened so quickly. lyle wood, mother was killed in wildfire: "things went from the winds picking up to the last phone call she made to my brother was the fact that she was really scared and frantic because the house was actually on fire at that point. more than 700 buildings are destroyed or damaged, and 14- thousand people were evacuated monday... many with just the

obama and his family officially light up the national christmas tree. and it turns out-- the president still had some jokes left over from his turkey pardon last week. president obama this one is easier because a tree does not move, it does not gobble, you just push a button and it's electrified --which is exactly what you don't want to happen at a turkey pardon. laughs i thought that was funny michelle. younger daughter sasha helped the president light the tree last night in president's park. the celebration included a concert with kelly clarkson, marc anthony and garth brooks. the national christmas tree has been a washington tradition for more than 90 years. here at home.. the millercoors holiday lights display kicks off for the season tonight. this is the 13th year for the display. the show is every friday and saturday in december-- starting tonight.
