prices for the first time in many years. the democrats as raising the tax would help raise revenues and plug a $1 billion budget shortfall. the governor says he will not support any kind of tax increase. this proposal comes as drivers are already digging deeper in their pockets to fill their tanks. >> the average price for a gallon of gas has risen 12 cents over the past three weeks. john gonzalez is live with more. >> good morning. it is interesting to see when gas prices start to go up and how people try to save money. they fill up half a tank and use regular instead of premium and they drive slower. these things are going into effect this morning. the average price of a gallon of regular gas has increased 12 cents over the past three weeks. analysts say these prices could continue climbing the its crude oil prices remain steady.

they live 19 candles for those killed and wounded in the shooting that happened last year on gary cates in tucson. there were other events held in washington. there was one at a baptist church where they had a day of reflection for the victims of gun violence. we heard from a local mother who lost a daughter as well as shooting survivor. giffords' guzman says the entire country and the initiative tucson are recovering and still healing. >> tucson remains a great city a special place, an oasis in the desert where our bonds of community were strengthened under the stress and sadness of a horrible moment. >> gabrielle giffords remains in recovering at a hospital and in houston. her staff says that she continues to add to your

workload as she gets better in her recovery, all participating in videoconferences and telephone conference calls. she is up for reelection this november. dirty prother chief of staff says she will make the decision later on whether to run. an amazing story of survival. watched this video. a 22-year-old taurtourist named erin jumps 250 feet in africa. the bungee cord broke. >> it is a miracle that i survived.
