forecast coming up. now to angela. >> starting to see some improvement in maryland. the ramp was shut down from the outer loop of the beltway to rockville pike. and has just reopened. those delays are easing up. so traffic -- or rather southbound 270 is building through urbana and germantown, on the brakes a little. crossing the american league on the beltway, normal. in virginia, still dealing with a crash on eastbound 66 at 28, the center lane blocked with delays back to manassas. back to you. >> thank you. we will start with breaking news from baltimore. a house fire has left five people dead. >> let's get the latest from jummy olabanji. >> we have been reporting on this fire all morning. new information, wbal tv is

reporting they've learned the five victims are grandmother and four children, possibly grandchildren. new pictures from newschopper 7 over the scene in baltimore this morning. the fire and reported just after 2:00 this morning in the 5600 block of denwood avenue in baltimore city. the call came in at 2:00. when firefighters got on the scene based a one adult male jumped from the second story window and tried to get away from some of the flames. after the fire was knocked down when officials went inside, they discovered the five bodies of the victim's. according to baltimore city fire officials, a total of 10 people were inside. five escaped and five were killed. once again, a grandmother and four children killed in this early-morning house fire in baltimore city. we are looking to get more information, including,

the national zoo now know exactly what killed this new panda cub. they will release their findings later this morning. for the first time we were shown images of mother mei xiang returning to the yard at the panda exhibit for visitors to see her. her behavior is slowly returning to normal. she was not eating and was cradling a toy after the death. there was an abnormal liver and a lot of fluid in the abdomen of the panda cub. it was a devastating loss. the came a week after the surprise birds. at a press conference later this morning, scientists may also touched on the future plans at the zoo and whether they will try to artificially inseminate mei xiang again. prior to this, they tried unsuccessfully to do that six years. we will get an update later this morning. john gonzalez reporting from the national zoo.

today for a man accused of carrying out the colorado movie theater massacre. today's hearing will be the first time much of the evidence against james holmes will be made public. the denver post reports prosecutors plan to file more attempted murder charges. he's already accused of killing 12 and wounding 58 others scoff at the denver area theater in july. >> investigators intensifying their search for a man suspected of groping several women in springfield. they released a composite sketch of the suspect. police say that six women have reported being fondled a long dark roads. authorities urging women to be on alert. >> metro's board expected to discuss plans for inauguration day when it meets today. the transit agency leaders expected to ask for permission to charge peak fares and full parking fees on january 21. that's inauguration day. it's also martin luther king day. metro want to extend operating

following a fire in baltimore. >> cynné and steve, a very sad update for you. our abc affiliate in baltimore has talked to family members of the five people who died in the fire. they see the victims are 55- year-old grandmother, nancy and four grandchildren. we have a picture we can show you of what the scene looked like early this morning. you can see the massive amounts of smoke and flames shooting from this row home on denwood ave. the call came in after 2:00 a.m. this morning. five other family members were in the home. five were able to escape. we know one of the panel members was a mother, the mother of the two and four year-old children.
