headquarters awaiting the press conference to begin. what can you tell us? >> it will be a matter of minutes before we get a press conference underway with the police chief as well as mayor muriel bowser. we expect to get an up dated investigation -- update on the investigation. right now at this hour, there are media reports that wint may have led to the new york area but those reports are unconfirmed. we have also learned a pizza crust found in the savopoulos home led investigators to the suspect. we are learning more from him about his relatives. they described him as arrogant and argumentative. his aunt said that she had no idea what was going on with him until police showed up at her home. we have video of police going

a search warrant and that is when they found the body side the home. chase is now in police custody. the man accused of killing three alexandria residents over 10 years is in court today. charles severance said he disagreed with his attorneys request for separate murder trials. severance, who has a history of out first said separate trials would require him to win multiple acquittals. he also said he does not trust his attorneys. the florida pilot who landed a jar of copter on the u.s. capitol lawn in april is due back in court today. doug hughes faces nine and half years in prison. he is in d.c. for a preliminary hearing this afternoon. he is charged with restricting -- violating restricted airspace . he says he wants to bring attention to big money in politics.

autria: a state of emergency has been declared in southern california and the massive cleanup is underway after that oil spill along the pacific coast. it started spanning four miles but has since spread to about nine miles. the spill was caused by a ruptured pipeline which coast guard says was running at full capacity when it broke on tuesday. to the latest on that massive takata airbag recall. one in seven drivers are affected but many are still waiting to learn if their car is at risk >> i cannot even find

54 at reagan national airport. here is the low moving over raleigh this afternoon. moisture moving northward, but you can see the back edge of the system. all of this will push up today and that opens up an area large pressure over the weekend. as far as high pressure goes, by 1:00 tomorrow afternoon, high pressure over the great lakes. we will be dry and it will be crystal clear. a cool front may bring us a few clouds. in the 70's tomorrow. 70's on saturday and then a warm up through wednesday as this moves offshore. here comes another high, more sunshine for the weekend. things will work out just fine weatherwise. here is the outlook for the rest of the day. temperatures will hold in the 50's and 60's. tomorrow, mid to upper 70's.

autria: a scare for passengers and lax last night and it was all caught on cell phone video. the man was taken away by police after not cooperating with tsa officers. an airport spokeswoman said the officer tased the man after he proceeded through the area. he was unarmed and police are investigating the incident. for the second day, hundreds of mcdonald's workers protested near the company's headquarters in illinois, where the new ceo and shoulders are gathering for the company's annual meeting. it comes out mcdonald's faces

declining sales and protests over work pay. workers are calling for an increase in pay to $15 an hour, and a union. there could be a new weapon in the fight against obesity. the fda has improved a device that is in rented into the abdomen which sends electrical impulses to the brain through the stomach helping patients to feel full. it is only available to those considered severely overweight. cool and rainy but the memorial day weekend is looking good.
