northwest d.c. has nearby business owners worried. a north carolina man was arrested sunday, after walking into the restaurant with an assault rifle, and firing a shot. he intended to investigate a conspiracy theory claiming hillary clinton had ties to a sex trafficking operation there. the suspect, edgar welch, is being held without bond. no one was injured when the shot was fired. last night, interim police chief peter newsham met with concerned business owners on the same block of connecticut avenue. the police department is increasing patrols there. it's 5 xx and still to come on good morning washington.. an ourpouring of

two teenagers were shot, one is listed in serious condition..the other has non-life threatening injuries. witnesses say they heard as many as 7 gunshots. the parade was cut short because of the incident. one suspect who took off on foot was taken into custody. for now, the former charleston south carolina officer caught on camera shooting an unarmed black man is a free man. a judge declared a mistrial in the murder case of michael slager. members of the come to a unanimous decision. slager is accused of killing walter scott following a traffic stop in april of 2015. attorneys for scott's family say slager dodged justice by a hair this time, but he wont doge it again. scott's mother says at the end..god will be the ultimate judge. jurors could have picked between manslaughter and jurors could have picked

either. slager also faces a federal trial, which is scheduled for next year. this morning, security will be beefed up at los angeles area metro stations after the fbi was informed of a potential terrorist attack planned for today. the threat stems from an anoynmous call made on a public safety line. federal authorities say the caller was very specific, saying the universal city station in los angeles was the target. authorities say they are taking no chances. mayor eric garcetti urged commuters to carry on with their normal security at every commuter rail stop in the region. here in our area, wmata has launched underground wireless service on the blue... silver and orange lines. right now it's only active from potomac avenue... to stadium armory. it's the first section of tunnels with any service at all. all four major cell carrier are part of the initiative that's been years in the making. there's a wall of light in alexandria's del ray neighborhood that's intended to be more than a decoration.
