northeast d.c. officers fatally shot javon hall on sunday, after responding to a domestic disturbance. police say hall threatened officers with a knife, and was shot after refusing an officer's order to drop it. detectives later allowed hall's family members to view police bodycam videos. they say the videos show, he did "n

along parkland drive are horrified by what happened -- but not surprised. the woman was reportedly taking her child out of a car seat when the crash happened. police say the driver that hit the pair is cooperating with investigators. right now.. the search continues for the driver and vehicle involved in a deadly hit and run in the district. take a good look at this s-u-v. d-c police say the driver struck and killed a deaf woman in the columbia heights neighborhood yesterday morning. the victim, identified as jacqueline cole wa struck while crossing 14th street near parkwood place. police say she was in a corsswalk at the time investigators believe the dark colored suv involved has front end damage.

the driveway underneath the truck apparently gave way in this california neighborhood. at the time of the accident there was a driver inside and one person inside the nearby home but fortunately no one was injured. the truck never struck the home but it was evacuated as a precaution. crews were pouring concrete near the home to rebuild a garage damaged in a similar accident involving a dump truck just months ago. more mall mayhem.. about 200 people showed up at a mall in philadelphia last night, i

disturbance planned on social media. night, in a disturbance planned on social media. four people were arrested, one of whom allegedly tried to strike a police officer. a day earlier, there were similar disturbances in malls in at least nine states. security is now being stepped up at those malls. police don't know if the incidents are related. but they believe some crowds may have been egged on by social media posts promoting fights at malls. one of six men who escaped from a tennessee jail by removing a toilet remains on the run this morning. and officials say he is considered dangerous. six inmates from a county jail in newport made the escape on christmas around 1-30 in the morning. five of them have since been recaptured. 54-year-old david frazier is still on the run. the early morning escape was prompted by a water leak behind a toilet. the inmates then removed it from the wall and snuck out of a hole that led outside. time now for weather

former u-v-a administrator are urging a federal judge not to overturn a jury's verdict against "rolling stone" magazine. nicole eramo was awarded three-million dollars last month, because of "rolling stone's" discredited story, "a rape on campus." her lawyers say the jury was correct when it found, the magazine and its reporter defamed her. "rolling stone" wants the judge to overrule the verdict, saying there's no evidence the reporter acted with actual malice. er-rahm'-oh's attorneys say the jury heard plenty of evidence that the reporter "did" act with malice. the world is mourning the loss of hollywood legend carrie fisher. her role as princess leia in star wars catapulted her to pop culture immortality. 60-year-old fisher passed away tuesday after going into cardiac arrest on a flight to los angeles friday. janai norman joins with more on her lasting legacy as the tributes are pouring in.
