broke windowns and sparked a massive bonfire..ahead of scheduled appearance by a breitbart news editor. two hours before guest speaker milo yiannopoulos was set to speak, a small group ripped down barricades, started a fire and shot fireworks directly at officers. the school ended up canceling the event 2 hours before start time because of the chaos on campus. u-c berkeley says amid that violence, destruction of property, and conceern for public safetty it was necessary to remove milo from the campus and canel his speaking engagement. yiannopoulos was making the last stop of a tour aimed at defying what he calls an epidemic of "political correctness" on college campuses. prior to the violence, hundreds

prison employees - still being held hostage this morning. prisoners took four people hostage about 17 hours ago. those prisoners released one corrections officer yesterday afternoon - and a second last night. authorities are in connumincation with those inmates. we do not know what demaands have been made during those negotiations.

this morning we're seeing new stunning images from violent overnight protests in romania. demonstrators clashed with police in bucharest throwing objects and trashing city streets. its' in response to a new law decriminalizing corruption. the law calls for an end to investigations into corrupt acts that cause less than 48-thousand u-s dollars in damage. another measure may also free officials currently in jail for corruption. it goes into effect in 10 days. developing now.. the u-s military has concluded that this weekend's deadly raid in yemen likely killed civilians--possibly including children. military officials say the casualties resulted from aerial fire called in to support navy seals taking intense fire from al-qaeda fighters in the arabian peninsula. the raid was intended to gather intelligence about the terror groups leadership and plans of targeting the west. and yesterday president trump made an unscheduled trip to delaware to receive

navy seal--william owens who was during that same raid. president trump - along with his daughter ivanka - joined owens' family for a private ceremony. happening today... secretary of defense james mattis well into his first overseas trip since taking over at the pentagon. right now he is in seoul south korea for a meeting with their prime minister. he will then visit japan tomorrow for a meeting with their prime minister. during his first days in office, mattis stressed the importance of maintaining international alliances. good news to report this morning. ollie -- the bobcat missing from the national zoo has been found safe on zoo property. the national zoo said ollie was found near the bird exhibit wednesday afternoon. she's said to be in good health with only a small cut on her left front paw. the zoo said it's possible ollie left zoo grounds and that sightings near massachusetts avenue were probably her. veterinarians will perform a full exam on ollie sometime today. it's not hard to find one dog in wisconsin who loves to go sledding.. meet roxie!

jummy olbanji with the details at the live desk. around 4-15 this morning someone tried to rob the c-v-s located in the 12-thouasnd block of georgia avenue...right near the wheaton metro station we're not totally sure what happened inside, but we know that a suspect was taken into custody we've been reporting similar robberies that have been taking place across the area in the past week or so several c-v-s and riteaids locations across mo-co have been hit police are looking into whether they've got the guy responsible for the past robberies. sam sweeney headed to the scene.

in the mail until monday.. 12 days after the inauguration. metro says it sold nearly 30-thousand of these passes. about 400 customers, including defazio, are now asking for refunds. new this morning.. a man is in custody, after two teens were stabbed in northwest d.c. a fight broke out late yesterday afternoon at the intersection of 14th street and park road. police found one of the victims at that location.. and arrested the suspect. officers were called to a home on georgia avenue northwest near randolph street, where they found the other victim. there's still no word on the victims' conditions. happening today-- an virginia man will be sentenced for sexually assaulting two young girls. last year-- luis fernando ore was arrested after police say he followed the girls into a bathroom at the elevation burger

assaulted them. ore has already served prison time for sexually assaulting an underage girl. as part of a plea deal that saves the girls from having to testify, ore will be sentenced to life in prison, with all but 54 years suspended. he will also have to register as a sex offender for life. a virginia community is mourning after a student fell in class and died. 16-year old michael belknap collapsed yesterday at poquoson high school just north of hampton. he was rushed to the hospital where he later died. right now authorities says it appears to be a medical issue. a medical examiner will soon determine the cause of death. developing this morning.. a cry for help from residents of a southeast d-c apartment building they say is unfit to live in. one resident tells us the terrace manor apartment building has multiple safety concerns. among them - mold, broken smoke detectors, clogged vents, unsecure locks and more. he says despite paying rent the problems continue with no solution. the attorney general is now
