hit something and both men were rescued and no one was injured. those remnants of nicole brought rain and a tornado. the national weather service confirmed a weak tornado hit north of gibson island. the rain caused the most damage and there was a sinkhole that broke over ongamblers road and bel air road. >> a chartered bus drives off an interstate and tumbles down a hill. for the children, it's an experience they'll likely never forget. vic carter -- vic carter has more. >> reporter: this is how we last saw the children after the bus they were on crashed. >> and did it roll once or twice? three or four times.

>> reporter: she and her brother were among six in the crash. he held tight to his seat. and they were part of a group from a catholic school in pennsylvania visiting the national mall and the zoo and the 66-year-old driver died in the crash. the children say they first thought they were dreaming. >> and seeing everyone hurt on the ground. >> seeing everyone laying down, bloody, no parents there, it was really scary. >> reporter: the and the passengers are still in the hospital. the nephew is okay, and their mother is recovering from surgery. >> they're old enough to understand, this happens and they're thankful it wasn't worse, their mom isn't home and they're concerned about her. >> reporter: vic carter, wjz-13 eyewitness news. witnesses say they say the driver slumped over the wheel

before the crash. the police are investigating the accident. the new state law prohibiting the hand held cell phones is in effect. it's a secondary event. if you'll be sited if you're pulled over for something else like speeding. and the fine is $40 the first time and $100 after that. local electronic stores say that hands free devices are flying off of the shelves now. have you heard about it on the radio, we saw the sign up and we were driving around, and it said, this is the law as i was looking at my phone. i thought it would be time to grab some. >> it will likely cost you $50 to $150. and the devices are available at most stores. several other new laws took effect yesterday in maryland. tougher regulations for sex offender making it difficult to

avoid registering in other states and child support rates are increasing. and if you didn't know, we're one day away from the big showdown with pittsburgh. baltimore is looking to improve to 3-1 on the year and pull even. charlie bash will start for pittsburgh and despite beginning as the third stringer, the raven's defense isn't taking him lightly and of course, fans are getting fired up -- >> he may be a young guy like most back ups. he's a veteran guy and he had has a lot of sparks. you can't look at him like a guy at a college. >> and the fans are getting fired up. for some, a raven's win could be the icing on the cake. >> reporter: in charm city, raven's fans can have their cake and eat it, too.

it's going to be a beautiful, fall day. there it is there, that's around 70 degrees. i'm thinking to myself, last year, we played the steelers, it was a cold night, it will be another sunday night game, too. back to the other stories people are talking about this morning. an arizona hiker's condition is improving after spending days lost in the desert. the man's condition is upgraded to fair. he'll be hospitalized until at least monday. after getting lost on a hike, the real estate broker survived for six days without food or water. he wrote a final message to his family on his hat. a major man hunt is underway in new york as people search for two missing inmates there.

they were cutting grass as part of a road crew when they walked off. they were serving time for -- burglary. once caught, escaping will add seven years to the sentence. a racy new exhibit in colorado is making national head lines this morning. now, protestors are calling for the removal. the exhibit depicts jesus christ in a sexual position. they say they're not removing it. and a foot chase in virginia comes to an end after the police get a helping hand from warehouse workers. a suspect ran into a warehouse and refused to come down from a high shelf and the police asked the workers to give them a boost. they reached the man and

man on the internet. it can be traced back to online postings. the roommate and his friend streamed the video and he said, roomy asked for the room until my night and -- midnight and i saw him making out with a dude yeah. he said, he saw me and the school won't do much of anything. and in his last message on facebook, he posted a suicide note, jumping off the gw bridge, sorry. they've been charged with invasion of privacy and could get five years in prison. >> it's awful that things come to that. >> reporter: it's turned into a conversation about how their lives are always under the mike

learning more about a fire in dundalk. the flames ripped through the distillery. the fire burned for three hours and several walls collapsed. the firefighters say that the intense nature of the flames is suspicious. >> they had heavy fire from the upper floors. >> arson is the most likely cause. en and the rest of the billing will be torn down as a safety recaution. jury deliberations will continue monday in the trial of three men accused of shooting ken harris in 2008. during the closing arguments, the defense disputed the evidence presented prosecutors accused the defense attorney to trying to avert the legal attention. mario is facing assault charges.

he was arrested in fells point yesterday. investigators say that his mother claimed he pushed her into a wall and she feared for her life. his lawyer, said it was an unfortunate incident. and yeardley love was just weeks away from graduating from the university of virginia when she was killed. now, her friends and family are making sure her memory lives on. we'll explain how last night's oriole's game spread the message of one love. >> reporter: yeardley love grew up here and excelled in sports. family and friends of yeardley love are keeping her memory

alife. they created a foundation for the cockeysville native, this is walled the one love foundation, that was -- one was her number and love was her name. people associated her with the way that she inspired people. she was chairsmatic all the time. >> their priority is to construct a turf field in towson and they raised money for the project. it will be for the lacrosse, soccer and field hockey in the middle field. >> reporter: and about half of every ticket purchased goes to the field. with more than a thousand, they brought in $7000. >> it's a perfect way to commemorate her memory. >> and it was her passion for sports that lead her to the man

the family of a girl who fell almost a hundred feet to the ground on an amusement park ride settled the lawsuit against the park. the trial must still be approved. in july, the girl was dropped from a free fall ride before the net was in place and she's still hospitalized and the ride operator is facing felony charges. in this morning's health watch, there's a procedure making it easier for those with vision problems and they're contacts that are implanted on your eyes. patients are able to see perfectly minutes after the procedure. there and also, in health watch, a troubling statistic. it has the highest percentage

softball field in baltimore city settled a lawsuit. deanna green was killed while stretch anything 2006. her foot rested against a fence that was touching an underground cable and she reached for a second fence, she was electrocuted. her mom was in the ambulance with her that day. we went to sinai, that was where she was born. they did all they could do. >> they reached a settlement with the lighting company and they believe that baltimore has immunity. >> we're not going away. number one, you know, you need to stand up and understand that this was your facility, your responsibility. >> and no one goes to a softball game thinking that
