scary. >> and it was a large amount of smoke and the top of the building erupted and just in a big, rolling flames. >> reporter: that appeared from the start. >> they had the heavy fire showing from the floors, three, four and five. that's unusual to have the fire become that big. >> reporter: watch the distillery as it tumbles. one side survived. >> for safety reasons, while the firefighters are here, the power is shut off to many properties where they're catering a party. >> mr. and mrs. brown, they're celebrating their 50th an versos, it's an anniversary they'll never forget. >> >> reporter: well, congratulations. >> are you able to serve food. >> yeah, we were ready to serve, but as we were getting ready to set up, they shut the

electricity off. and they'll wait to hear about the party's electricity. >> reporter: arson could be the cause of this fire. >> to have that much fire, it's suspicious in my feelings. >> reporter: dozens watched the local landmark fall. >> in the summertime, you could smell the whisky, it was a present smell. >> reporter: the power is off and it will be turned back on again to knock down the final wall. reporting from dundalk. and meantime, a rescue on the patapsco river as two are trapped on a sinking boat. eye sky eye chopper 13 spotted the boat. they got a call when the boat

hit something and both men were rescued and no one was injured. those remnants of nicole brought rain and a tornado. the national weather service confirmed a weak tornado hit north of gibson island. the rain caused the most damage and there was a sinkhole that broke over ongamblers road and bel air road. >> a chartered bus drives off an interstate and tumbles down a hill. for the children, it's an experience they'll likely never forget. vic carter -- vic carter has more. >> reporter: this is how we last saw the children after the bus they were on crashed. >> and did it roll once or twice? three or four times.

>> reporter: she and her brother were among six in the crash. he held tight to his seat. and they were part of a group from a catholic school in pennsylvania visiting the national mall and the zoo and the 66-year-old driver died in the crash. the children say they first thought they were dreaming. >> and seeing everyone hurt on the ground. >> seeing everyone laying down, bloody, no parents there, it was really scary. >> reporter: the and the passengers are still in the hospital. the nephew is okay, and their mother is recovering from surgery. >> they're old enough to understand, this happens and they're thankful it wasn't worse, their mom isn't home and they're concerned about her. >> reporter: vic carter, wjz-13 eyewitness news. witnesses say they say the driver slumped over the wheel

before the crash. the police are investigating the accident. the new state law prohibiting the hand held cell phones is in effect. it's a secondary event. if you'll be sited if you're pulled over for something else like speeding. and the fine is $40 the first time and $100 after that. local electronic stores say that hands free devices are flying off of the shelves now. have you heard about it on the radio, we saw the sign up and we were driving around, and it said, this is the law as i was looking at my phone. i thought it would be time to grab some. >> it will likely cost you $50 to $150. and the devices are available at most stores. several other new laws took effect yesterday in maryland. tougher regulations for sex offender making it difficult to

they were cutting grass as part of a road crew when they walked off. they were serving time for -- burglary. once caught, escaping will add seven years to the sentence. a racy new exhibit in colorado is making national head lines this morning. now, protestors are calling for the removal. the exhibit depicts jesus christ in a sexual position. they say they're not removing it. and a foot chase in virginia comes to an end after the police get a helping hand from warehouse workers. a suspect ran into a warehouse and refused to come down from a high shelf and the police asked the workers to give them a boost. they reached the man and

he was arrested in fells point yesterday. investigators say that his mother claimed he pushed her into a wall and she feared for her life. his lawyer, said it was an unfortunate incident. and yeardley love was just weeks away from graduating from the university of virginia when she was killed. now, her friends and family are making sure her memory lives on. we'll explain how last night's oriole's game spread the message of one love. >> reporter: yeardley love grew up here and excelled in sports. family and friends of yeardley love are keeping her memory

softball field in baltimore city settled a lawsuit. deanna green was killed while stretch anything 2006. her foot rested against a fence that was touching an underground cable and she reached for a second fence, she was electrocuted. her mom was in the ambulance with her that day. we went to sinai, that was where she was born. they did all they could do. >> they reached a settlement with the lighting company and they believe that baltimore has immunity. >> we're not going away. number one, you know, you need to stand up and understand that this was your facility, your responsibility. >> and no one goes to a softball game thinking that
