orlando police say two different suspects pulled guns on them over the weekend. >> matt: now the chief says there's a reason we're seeing a rise in the dangerous and frightening trend. news 6 reporter troy campbell is here to talk about it. seems like it's happening a lot more lately. what did the chief have to say about the situation? >> reporter: chief mina says there seems to be a change in mentality, more suspects willing to pull a gun on a cop. he says that's just an example of the dangers his office faces every day. >> both firearms were real and fully functional, loaded and ready to go. >> reporter: orlando police chief describing two separate incidents over the weekend. >> these types of situations happen. >> reporter: orlando police say a 26-year-old man was seen

session on john young parkway sunday afternoon, moments after officers responded to shots fired. officers chased him on foot. as he was tackled to the ground, he pulled out a handgun and pointed it straight at the officers. >> there is more of that mentality out there where people are carrying more guns and willing to use them on all types of people, even the police. >> reporter: chief mina says his officers were fired 5 different times. >> in a fast happening situation, they're impossible to tell. i can't tell many times looking at the photos of the guns and seeing them side by side, almost impossible to tell. >> reporter: thankfully no one was hurt in either shooting the chief was talking about.

scattered shower or two. i don't see too much happening. the dry air aloft is going to gobble up the moisture. we go through tonight and tomorrow very dry. which means it's going to be really warm again tomorrow. the high today was 87. tomorrow i'm going to ramp it up another degree or two. this is how it looks by wednesday, more of the same. overnight lows tonight, 64 in volusia county from daytona beach to new smyrna beach to de land. 66 in sanford. 65 in oviedo. 64 will do it for an overnight low in the villages. ocala i'm going 61 for you. 65 in leesburg. titusville checks in with an overnight low of 67. 68 in cocoa. the official forecast in orlando, got a few clouds now. we'll go partly cloudy overnight. the low is 66. here's tomorrow. 8:00 tomorrow morning, we're at 68.
