right now. notice fog is an issue in the akron canton area. we are thinking that for the most part in the cleveland metro area, we stay mostly dry, however, south and west of cleveland, i think we see a few isolated showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon. that's why you throughout the morning broadcast a chance of showers. i think at the parks, we should stay dry. highs today nearing nearing 80- degree reading and i can't believe, fall starts in just a couple of days, but looking at the seven-day forecast, you would never imagine, we will be in the low to mid 80s later in the workweek.
long as we can. michael, thank you so much. now to our big story this morning, dozens of people were injured in what is believed to have been an outdoor explosion. the officials are saying it happened near 23rd street near 6th and 7th avenue in manhattan. at least 12 and one seriously. >> the early indications is that this was an intentional act. we are going to have a lot more to say in the coming hours. we believe this was an intentional act. whatever the cause, whatever the intention here, new yorkers will not be intimidated.
>> the explosion happened near seaside park near the route of the semper fi run. services are trooper velez will be happening today. he was struck and killed by a driver allegedly high on drugs and at killing the trooper appeared in court yesterday. he faces a vehicular homicide charge and is expected in court a week from tuesday. football season officially kicks off in cleveland today. this is bringing one of the largest crowds to the lake shore. the fans are already lined up.

80s in the workweek. the current temperatures in the 60s right now. we are dry right now, but what we have been tracking for you, and have had our eyes on is a cold front and that's where we are seeing a few of the scarted shower s and the thunderstorms. today, just because of the proximity because of where that cold front is located back toward ashtabula county, we may see a few of the showers front. tomorrow looks good, but into the tuesday, i think we see another area of low pressure. i think a slight chance of showers will be seen on tuesday, but don't cancel any plans on tuesday because, again, the chances are pretty low. we will call it partly cloudy to mostly sunny throughout the day today. notes to the south and --

on the ravens. now, the cleveland indians' game is nearly sold out. progressive field can hold just over 35,000 people, so a lot of people are going to be packed downtown, just keep that in mind if you have any plans downtown. ending temperatures in the low 80s with a little bit more humidity so you will feel it. temperatures upper 60s. for the most part, we are dry, so that's good news if you are heading down to the muni lot. going down to progressive field, a nice, mild start down there as well. what we are tracking for you is a cold front that has just pushed off to the east. notice, though, out ahead of the cold front is where we are tracking a few of the showers.
thunderstorms down in the southern counties. that front also triggering some showers just offshore from say, lake county and ashtabula county. that chance for rain certainly in the forecast, all though for the most part,, i think we stay dry. we are tracking a cold front for you. here's what it looks like for you now through lunchtime, a decent looking day. notice south of cuyahoga county and east of cuyahoga county, that's where we are tracking a chance of the showers and thunderstorms. seven-day forecast for today -- forecast for today, diving down to the mid 60s, mild and muggy as well. highs upper 70s, low 80s, not only today, but tomorrow and through the rest of the workweek.
