long will it last? i'll tell you coming up in the storm team 4 seven-day forecast in a view. back over to you. >> thanks, raphael. new information in a traffic stop that sent a new jersey police officer to the hospital. >> two people face multiple charges in connection with the stop. officers responded to reports of people sleeping in a parked car in dover. when one officer approached the ca gr, the driver drove over the sidewalk and hit the officer. the officer was sent to the hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. the two were arrested on scene and that investigation is ongoing. f eral services for the man killed in the crane collapse in tribeca. david wicks will be laid to rest at 11:00 a.m. services will be on the upper east side. the burial follows in saddle brook, new jersey. crews have been working through hethe night to remove the crane as the investigation continues.

we're following developments this morning of three deadly fires in the bronx. flames tore through a home on east 228th street. firefighters found the body of a 76-year-old man in the basement yesterday afternoon. investigators believe the man may have died from a medical condition prior to the fire. the two other bronx fires earlier yesterday morning were other. one on guion place and one on beach avenue. cell phone video shows the flames shooting out from the home. this is the one on beach. firefighters are sifting through the damage and debris to determine what started that fire. five people were inside that home. but 64erear-old claudia britney didn't make it out alive. she died en route to the hospital. >> smelled and that's when i got up and looked out the window and i could see the flames coming out. i hear people screaming, screaming. >> and now to that fire in the parkchester section of the brorngs. firefighters found a man on the

see 3 to 6 inches. maybe more. that goes for the skbrers i jersey shore. this is monday, tuesday and wednesday. it's not blockbuster snow event but could be a problem from time to time. high pressure staying with us. our first storm gearing up across the southeast. this will become a coastal storm. here's our second upper level trough moving across the great lakes later on today. these two will not team up as they might have. that would have created a much stronger storm closer to the coast. instead, this will allow it to track more out to sea and other low place, catch up, maybe another low developing tuesday offshore. we'll have to see how it plays out again. lots of players in the game. temperatures are cold right now, 20 in samford, mid-20s in redding and stratford. newburgh it's 23 degrees.

in a video he identifies himself as the son of the owner of the famed concert venue webster hall in the east village. the fraternity released a statement that said in part, our chapter is cooperating with the investigation into this matter and afi members involved will be held accountable. police also investigating another slashing on a new york city subway. it's the 11th this year. it happened early yesterday at the east tremont and boston post road station in the bronx. police say the 32-year-old victim got into an argument with two other men when he was sudden slashed across the neck. no arrests have been made. governor cuomo trying to stop -- the governor spoke out against what's called gay conversion therapy while accepting the national equality award for the human rights campaign yesterday. new york is one of the states acting against that. the government revealed regulations to ban insurance coverage for the therapy of minors.

with pile drivers, they're planning to use jackhammers and drills to reduce vibration. the tenants are also challenging this project on the grounds there are false statements in these permits. for example, on some of them, the owner certifies the site is unocfupied. >> is this site occupied? >> this site is completely occupied >> why would an application say the building has no rent regulated tenants if there are rent regulated tenants? >> i can't speak to a specific piece of paper. >> we showed him one of the applications. on it, developers clearly say no when asked if the site contains one or more occupied dwellings. and no when asked if the sitexas subject to rent control or rent stabilization. but boardman dublgd oubled down. >> i would say that's 100% correct. yo he said developers were not referring to the lower building newhen they said the site was vacant. they were referring to the yet to built condos in the sky.

then snow for days in the forecast. we'll take a look at that in a few minutes. not talking about blockbuster snow totals. this is starting tomorrow rough wednesday, generally 1 to 3 inches in new york city and stchester county, rockland county and areas west. 3 to 6 inches a possibility. maybe more in a few spots. that's for nassau, suffolk, fairfield and the jersey shore, especially the immediate coastline. that's where we'll be closest to the storm tomorrow morning. another storm moves through on tuesday. so we're going to be adding on more snow. for three days, this is not a lot of snow, but it may impact your travel. that's going to be something to watch over the next few. storm tracker shows a quiet scenario now. lots of sunshine coming our way in a few minutes. the first storm rides up the coast later on today. it's not going to team ua with the upper level trough. it's going to be lagging behind a little bit. that's going to keep the storm system out to sea for us.

similar to a few days ago with that snow for long island. it may be farther east and eventually this trough moves northeast. that your tuesday storm which could bring another few inches of snow. 15 in walpack. it's cold in northwest new jersey. 21 in franklin. 26 in sparta. we have temperatures in the 30s around the city. 19 in danbury. 28 in long branch. future tracker, dry through the morning and afternoon. lots of sunshine around noon. around 6:00, the clouds filter in. that's our storm offshore. by tomorrow morning, 6:00, 7:00 a.m. for your commute, already seeing rain and snow showers out there. especially right along the coast. so if you live in nassau and suffolk counties, jersey shore, a little bit of a wet commute. could be slippery. give yourself extra time. snow showers continue on and off through the morning to the afternoon. maybe a few inches are possible across long island. even in the city for your evening commute, light snow and snow showers continu on monday

jury, that they serve the time that they should serve. but at the same time, it's not just about arresting c people. it's also about putting resources into the community so that it's safe and that it's not a inplace where criminals feel that they can have their way with society and destroy the neighborhood. you know, you do the prosecution as well as bring resources into the community. have a great community affairs unit that goes out into the community and talk about all the programs that we have to make sure that the bronx is safe. >> obviously, you've made history with this post. soti.what is your message to the young african-american women who feel like this ay be a boys club when it comes to the law and law enforcement. yorou had quite a journey. is that still possible? >> it's asl possible. with god, all things is possible. >> yes. >> i lean on my faith quite a bit as far as that's concerned.

where that crane collapsed. it killed a man friday morning. to iday, 38-year-old david wicks ll be remembered as loved ones say one last goodbye. his funeral services take place later this morning on the upper east side. the harvard grad was walking to work when the crane tumbled to the ground crushing him. meanwhile in tribeca, the massive crane was hauled off yesterday after being cut into 35 pieces. city leaders looging to see if the street neesds repaving. investigat s are searching for answers why the crane collapsed in the first place. the wind that day being looked into as a possible factor. very shocking and sad. >> somebody passed away. it's incredible. >> reporter: the mayor is expected to speak later today about crane safety and what's being done in the aftermath t prevent something like this from happening again. in the meantime, the funeral is scheduled for 11:00 this morning at his upper east side synagogue.

i'm ray villeda, "today in new york." stay with news 4 for the latest on the investigation. you can get updates any time on our website, nbcnewyork.com or on mobile app. o a construction accident midtown left a worker fighting for his life. that man was working on the 20th floor of a building near grand central on madison avenue when pieces of concrete fell down on to his head knocking him unconscious. he was taken to bellevue hospital where he's reported in critical condition this morning. we have new information this morning in a traffic stop that sent a new jersey police officer to the hospital. >> this morning, two people are facing multiple charges in connection with that stop. officers responded to reports of people sleeping in a parked car in the town of dover. one of the officers approached. the driver drove over the sidewalk and hit the officer. that officer was taken to the hospital with what's believed to be nonlife-threatening injuries.

that investigation is ongoing. flames kep firefighters busy in the bronx this weekend. they have had to respond to three fires in just 12 hours. flames tore through a home on east 228th street last ght. firefighters found the body of a 76-year-old man in the basement yesterday afternoon. investigators believe the man may have died from a medical condition prior to the fire. and two earlier fires happened a lock away from each other. one on guion avenue in parkchester and one across the cross bronx expressway on beach pi enue. the flames shooting from the home captured on cell phone video. inside, at least five people and crews found -- fire crews found 64-year-old claudia brittany unconscious in her sement. she died en route to the hospitalo they're still searching for what started that firmbe. >> i myself had the fire in my house. she said i'm praying for you. i'm hoping that god will help you.

the president of a fraternity at cornell university is accused of tryin- to rape a student. 21-year-old wolfgang ballinger tried to rape a woman at the sy epsilon house. he may have ties to this area. in a video posted to youtube, he identifies himself as the son of webster hall down in east village. sy upsilon released a statement saying our chapter is cooperating with the investigation into this matter and any members involved will be held accountable. police are investigating another slashing on a new york city subway. the 11th this year. it happened at east tremont and boston post road section. the 32-year-old victim got into argument with two other men and he was slashed across the cheek. no arrests have been made. the faa looking into how a helicopter tipped over in new jersey. you can see it there. the chopper crashed while doing practice landings at the airport yesterday.

time and at least one was hurt. a teenager in queens is in custody accused of beating his father to death. this happened outside a home on utopia parkway in flushing on friday night. 19-year-old demetrius and his brother had been drinking when they got into a fight. the 57-year-old father tried to break it up using a staring wheel lock. team truss wrestled the club away from his father and beat him to death with it. governor cuomo is taking steps to stop therapists from trying to changethe sexual orientation of minors. the governor spoke out against what's called gay conversion therapy while accepting the nation beal equality award yesterday. new york is one of several states acting against the therapy. it would ban insurance coverage for that kind of therapy for minors. >> that's why today we rejected

that being gay is a psychiatric disorder. >> on the other side, supporters of the therapy say prohibiting it limits treatment options and undermines religious liberty. an investigation is under way after possible groundwater contamination was discovered under indian point nuclear power plant in westchester county. the governor says water that was groundwater. they say it's contained and no risk to the public. in a statement, governor cuomo called it unacceptable and he's ordering the environ al conservation and health departments to investigate. and today the united nations security council will hold an emergency meeting over north korea's launch of a long-range rocket. north korea's government tv says the rocket was carrying a satellite. the u.n. barred that country from using ballistic missile technology, but north korea says it has a right to pursue a space program. rescues continue at this hour following an earthquake in taiwan. more than 100 people are trapped

following that earthquake there. the 6.4 magnitude quake killed at least 24 people in the southern part of that country last night. the government says most of the deaths were from a 17-story building collapse. rescuers working around the clock to pull out survivors and so far crews brought over 170 people to safety. more than 500 people across the city were hurt in saturday's quake. five skiers are now dead and two others injured after they were hit by a massive avalanche in the australian alps. authorities say the skiers were from the czech republic. they got trapped under 9 feet of snow when it just gave way. crews were able to rescue ten other skiers who weren't hurt. authorities say they issued earlier warnings to skiers that avalanches were possible in that area. still ahead on this sunday morning, storm team 4's raphael miranda returning with a check of the forecast. a lot brewing there in the storm team 4 weather center, including a snowstorm. you're watching "today in new york."

yesterday afternoon. investigators believe the man died from a medical condition prior to the fire. there were two other fes earlier yesterday morning. they were only blocks apart. one on guion avenue in parkchester and one on beach avenue. cel,ll phone video came into the newsroom. you can see the flames shooting from that home. this is the one on beach avenue. firefighters are sifting through the debris left behind to termine what started it. at least five people were inside that home. but 64-year-old claudia brittany didn't make it. she died on the way to the hospital. 'cit. that's when i got up and looked out the window. out. i hear people screaming and screaming. >> and now to the fire in the parkchester section of the bronx. that's where firefighters found carlosville feign. he was on the second floor of that burning home. was p nounced dea s at the scene. the cause of the fire, too, is under investigation. now decision 2016. republican presidential ca idates f ied off for the
