>> good morning to you at home. yeah, we're starting off rainy again this morning but it will clear out for the weekend. here we are tracking the rain across the area and the steady east rain along the 95 corridor. i will temperature you we saw more rain throughout the overnight so as you're getting ready to head out the door know that a lot of the roadways could be wet. 39 in littleton, you'll notice south hill you're at 32 degrees. this is some light snow falling when i came into work this morning. the roads should be clear for you this morning. so here's your forecast for today showers wrapping up at 8 a.m., 39 degrees. we'll climb to 46 by lunchtime and a high today of only 49 degrees. yes, chillier than where we've been the past few mornings. our normal high is now at 60 degrees so well below where we should be.

in it says there was a struggle between officer denkins, and it showed how many times twiddy shot denkins. >> and the gun was reported stolen back in january. >> meanwhile denkins loved ones will attend his funeral service later are this afternoon. emma wright has been working on this story all week long and has an update for us. >> the raleigh police department released their preliminary report yesterday and it shows that denkins for you to with officer twiddy and denkins tried to pull the officer's gun away before twiddy shot him. he was trying to arrest denkins on a felony drug charge. the report says that officer twiddy felt denkins reach for a weapon and that's when he fired the first shots. the shots didn't stop denkins and he reached for the officer's gun and that's when twiddy fired again.
gun and we know that there was a gun there at the scene in addition to the officer's gun. we know that the information that was in the five day report and through our investigation of what the officer said happened, but again, this is an ongoing investigation. >> the district attorney says they are still investigating where twiddy was shot whether it be the front or the back. we're going to have more on that coming up in the next half hour. >> thank you. well, moments before and after those initial reports came out yesterday community members gathered to call for peace, and pray for both denkins family and officer twiddy. >> the answers given yesterday simply not if you have for some in the community. a few gathered at the scene of the shooting as police released additional information about what happened. neighbors and friends say they still doubt law

then we move up or edgecombe be counties, nash county this morning still dealing with light rain. you're at 32 in south hill. you've seen a little bit of snow throughout the overnight and likely the delay for the children heading to school. 34 in roxboro, around 37 in durham, raleigh and sanford. 39 as we start off our morning near raeford. hour by hour you'll see 8 a.m. still the chance for a lingering shower. most of us should be dry. we're at 39 there, 43 at 10 a.m., 46 at noon, you'll notice an afternoon high staying in the upper 40s. normal for this time of year is actually close to 60 degrees. we'll drop back into the mid-40s as we head towards 6:00 this evening. you'll notice i am at least expecting to see some sunshine later today. i'll let

panel of 7 judges listened to two hours of appeals and one appeal focused on whether porter should be protected if he testifies the other centered on whether the trial judge had the authority to rule on the matter. they did not indicate when they could rule. right now the fbi is investigating after a driver ran over a man outside of a federal building in california. witnesses say the man got into a chase with the police officer right around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. the call went right through the concrete barriers and hit a federal employee. crews took the man to the hospital. right now we don't though his condition. authorities arrested the man. the bomb squad searched his car. wade county has the first confirmed case of the zika virus. officials say the patient contracted it while traveling abroad. health officials say there's no reason for residents to be concerned. zika is a mosquito born infection.
in countries where it's an epidemic have given birth to babies with smaller heads. >> researchers will discuss the virus and talk about what they've learned about it so far. and today the unc board of governors will meet for the first time since system president margaret spellings took over. she visit the campus on wednesday. groups that had protested meetings in the past will attend. today a bar that lost its license for three weeks last month will reopen to. here's not here will have to pay a $5,000 fine in their role in a deadly crash last summer. the commission finalized the punishment in january. the bar's attorney declined to comment on the suspension. it was one of the two places former unc student went to before police say he got into a crash on i-85, and three people died including a little girl.
trial is set to start october 3rdrd. >> today's reopening will kick off with a corn hole tournament. raleigh police say the man who held up a jewelry store in north hills last weekend got away with rolex watches. police arrested this man who they say showed a gun during that attempt, that robbery at the store. it happened just before the store closed. no one was injured. the 18-year old is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. well, you know, you may have needed the umbrella if you went out after midnight but right now i think we're in the clear. >> well here in the triangle we are in the clear but off towards the 95 corridor they're still dealing with rain. and the roads wet as you step outside so take it easy. here's a live picture outside and you can see the moisture still collecting on the lens had at the airport.
yeah, just bundle up as you're heading for the door the temperatures pretty chilly. the rain moving along the east coast but the good news is when i came into work we were tracking snow, light snow across portions of mecklenburg and virginia that has tapered off but because of that schools in virginia operating on a two hour delay. so here's our radar as we're scanning the skies. we're looking at that 95 corridor for some lingering rain even an isolated shower still but it's off towards the eastern portions of johnston county, wilson county, southern portions of nash county. very light rain still falling but it is in the process of wrapping up this morning. so let's go to where those temperatures sit right now. 32 in south hill, 33 in henderson, durham, raleigh, clayton, sanford all at 37, fayetteville you're still the mild spot reporting 41 degrees as we start off this friday
so here's your forecast for today, just an isolated shower 8 a.m. most of us should already be dry, 39 at 8 a.m., 46 at noon. we'll stay in the upper are 40s for afternoon highs and whack to 46 for the evening drive home. i do think we'll turn partly cloudy by sun set this evening but it may take the better part of the day to see more sunshine. we're looking at rain up and down the east coast about 6:30 this morning and that continues to drift out of our area. at noon though, still looking at rather cloudy conditions we see those break up through the afternoon. 5:00 we're dry dealing with a decent amount of sunshine. now, as we head towards saturday we'll start off our day dry and we'll likely end the day dry but it's saturday night into sunday you can see this rain up towards central portions of west virginia that could spill into our area, but again, just like we've seen time and time again this week i expect most of the rain to actually come through throughout the overnight. so daylight
