standing by their position to not even take that bill up for debate. "pam jochum 4:54 i am calling on the house to take this bill up and gie it a fair hearing. if they are listning to the people they represent, they need to bring this bill up before th eentire iowa house and let there be a vote. linda miller 46:23 the medicaid program is administered by the department of human services. it's not a legislated program. what the legislature does is legislates the amount of money needed for the medicaid program or the state match for the medicaid program." amanda/bam: as we've been telling you, the whole medicaid to managed-care switch can't happen without approval from the federal government. the scheduled roll out date is march first, but the state still has not been given federal approval. live in the studio, amanda krenz, local five news,

jack: a car and a s-u-v landed in a front yard this morning following a high speed wreck. the crash happened at 66th street and prairie avenue in urbandale. that's right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. cops say the silver car blew through a stop sign, hitting the suv. the driver of the car was taken to the hospital, while the other driver was treated on site. police say speed definitely caused this. neighbors say speeding and racing along 66th street has been a continuing problem -- one they can't seem to fix. ""we have those signs that say children at play, teenagers dont care about those signs they'll race no matter what" " jack: police say charges will likely be filed against the driver of the car. jack: we want to know what you think about the intersection? how could street safety be improved? let us know, we may use your comments on-air.

" from sporting events to daily activities - there's a lot going on within the independence school district. recently that got the school board thinking and taking action. "16:48:15 it's more of a proactive approach by us."> we're talking about drones, which are becoming more and more popular. "16:46:50 you try to stay on top of those types of things. "> the district says this policy is all about safety.
6:05 pm
need to come up with a policy so that we can control - now that drones are more prevalent - and more and more people have them, it was best for us to come up with a policy of how we are going to handle this."> the new policy says drones aren't allowed at any district event, tournament, game and they're not allowed above school-owned property for any purpose. the only exception comes with permission from the superintendent. "there are drones that crash and with amateurs out there flying drones, you never know with a drone. there are people out there experienced with them - with the equipment, but there could be opportunity for some type of incident to happen, so we just want to make sure we are covering ourselves with that."> the superintendent says policies are created so the district doesn't react from crisis to crisis, but instead have a plan. and with changing technology -- this new policy really is a sign of the times.
