between west main and west second street. there you can see the size of the hole. they are dealing with this while they fix the water main break. stick to mitchell avenue. outside live on the schuylkill expressway, traffic here moving nicely, this is the ramp to head to the zoo at girard as we switch our cameras around, traffic is moving pretty good. matt and tam. >> thank you karen. we're starting this morning with breaking news out of the ferguson missouri, the city is on the edge this morning. overnight a rally at police headquarters turned violent and two police officers were shot. let's go over to eva pilgrim live in the satellite center for the very latest. eva. >> reporter: good morning, tam yeah, the two police officers are recovering in the hospital after shots were fired during a protest in ferguson celebrating the resignation of the police chief there and calling for more dismissals. this is new video of one of the officers being put into a
ambulance overnight. police say at least three shots were fired from north of the police department, two officers both seriously wounded were not from ferguson, they were from neighboring departments helping with the protests. a saint louis county officer was hit in the shoulder, 41 years old and 14 year vet. a webster grove officer was shot in the face and # 2 years old and with the department for five years. the gunman is on the loose. >> pliferls were standing there owe tow police officers were standing there they were shot because they are police officers. we are conducting an investigation right now and i'll have more on that later on. >> we're hearing about their conditions so far was that their conditions are serious. we're seeing reports that there are police units and lab techs across the street at a house on a hill. no word on how that home is
connected to this shooting we're live in the satellite center, eva pilgrim channel 6 "action news." >> thank you for that. now this story is developing. smoke spreading from a restaurant fire damaged part of the nicetown branch. free library a. the action cam was along north broad street after firefighters knocked down the flames. crews say the fire started on the first floor of a chinese restaurant. is no injuries were reported. a man was shot while driving and crashed into a building and later died at the hospital. chopper 6 was over the scene 1100 block of hamilton avenue in trenton, new jersey. the search for the gunman continues. another embarrassment for the agency whose job is to protect the president. two senior secret service agents are accused of driving drunk and crashing into a barricade near
the white house on the way home from a retirement party. officers wanted to arrest them after the incident last week, but a supervisor let them go home. it's the latest embarrassment weeks after the new director took over after several missteps at the white house. >> i think when you fail and we have failed, we own it, now it's up to us to correct it. >> the white house said this morning that the president is aware of the latest incident and supports director clancy's decision to turn it over to homeland security. pinnacle charter school an 18-year-old man jumped the fence and got into a door by a loading dock. a bus driver alerted authorities. police caught up with the suspect at a nearby wireless store, neither students or staff were hurt. civil rights actctivists protested outside of the roam of riles who was seen chanting racial slurs. the video was blamed on a horrible cancer that plagued the fraternity for the last several years. >> testimony in the boston marathon bombing trial turned to the killing of a police officer at mit. prosecutors say it shows the defendant dzhokhar tsarnaev and his brother approaching the police cruiser.
