a possible highway sniper may have struck again, police are investigating a few more possible shootings on a freeway in arizona. >> and donald trump gaining a bigger lead in the race for the white house. >> and the heavier rain moving through the east at this hour. >> and the gloomy view at this hour, we can't seen see the skyline through the foggy conditions. david murphy has the latest from accuweather. >> as we look outside we can see the cloudy conditions there right now, we'll get back to david in just a second. >> right now we want to go to breaking news at this hour. are we going? lets do it a man that kidnapped a woman from the streets in german town has changed his plea to guilty. delton barnes was seen here

scratching her on the street and drove to maryland and brought her back to philadelphia. barnes originally pled not guilty but has changed his plea to guilty. >> as promises that accuweather forecast on a rainy day. >> stormtracker 6 live double scan shows us we are back into a pattern of thunderstorms, we had some heavy stuff moving through our morning broadcast and now a lull. some thunderstorms moving through east philadelphia and trenton and some of you had some of this earlier and it's coming again and another line producing lightning including a resenstrike coming up live on the air, storm tracker showing you that with the bright lightning bolt in salem county, another cluster of thunderstorms producing lightning strikes in dover and pushing towards

cumberland county, obviously it's not raining everywhere, are you getting thunderstorms and the drenching downpours highlighted in yellow and orange, this is with us for a while as a wave of high pressure moves off the coast and for now they are pushing up to the northeast as you can see later in the evening hour, a couple more may wrap in, you'll see off and on heavy downpours from now up through the dinner hour and into early this evening and we hope that they start to taper off and wind down later in the evening hours, the flash flood watch until 6:00 has been posted in lancaster county, you can see where what is an area we have seen a lot of heavy rain, and some more, there is concern there, i wouldn't be surprised to see some watch counties closer to philadelphia, 1 to 3 inches of rain expected there,

and probably too much for some roadways, 80 in millville and 77 in cape may and the dew point is still very high even where it isn't raining you can feel the obvious humidity out there. as we go into the afternoon we expect a high temperature around 80 degrees and some spots may go to 82, farther to the north in the r around average it's humid and wet. guys you have to be careful if you are out on the roadways, if you encounter a heavy downpour it could produce downpours, if you approach it too fast. and we'll have future tracker 6 coming up. >> david thank you. from our delaware newsroom, three people were hurt in an early morning townhome fire in newcastle county. when firefighters arrived flames

were shooting out of the home. >> a new jersey family was able to escape their burning home in camden county, the fire started after a storm passed over bell avenue in barrington, katherine scott has more from the scene. >> reporter: everyone got out safely but there is severe damage to this hom. firefighters were called here twice this morning after a fallen tree took down power lines, when firefighters arrived the send time this home was completely energized. you can hear the electrical charge pulsing through this barrington home, see the flashes of fire and bob the manager of time-out sports bar next door started recording on his cell phone. >> what is aluminum siding and it sparked the whole side of the house, like an electrical shield was on the side of the house. >> firefighters were called to

bell avenue at 3:00 a.m. after the passing storm snapped this tree pulling down power lines, when they arrived they say there was no activity or fire and they notified the power company and were called to a different location, while they were gone the wires starts to arc again. >> we heard a loud explosion and it seemed like a wall of fire. >> the wire may have dropped on the ground and energized the house through a pipe or something, and caught on fire at this point, we could not do anything until the power was secured. >> a natural gas fire then ignited, so firefighters had to wait until that too was scour. police helped six family members get out of the home until the firefighters got there. >> the house was like an electrical charge like a science fiction movie, the firefighters were all here, and they were afraid to go in because the gas

was there and coming out of ground. >> the home was seriously damaged. local fire marshals were called in to investigate and the red cross was called to assist the family. in other news, police are searching for two men that robbed a west philadelphia business today, it happened on the 5600 block of west walnut street. detectives say they left with cash and other items from the restaurant. a camping site is set up in east fairmount park for visitors during the pope's visit, people coming to philadelphia for the world meeting of families will have this as an alternative place to stay. it's called francis field, the area is host up to 16,000 people throughout the weekend, visitors can buy tickets right now on the world meeting of families website, the campground will have restrooms, showers,

charging stations and will be monitored by medical and security teams. a new poll shows that donald trump continues to hold his commanding lead and is pulling furnish ahead of the crowded field in the republican race, on the democratic side the race is getting even closer. karen travers joins us live from washington now. >> good afternoon sara, donald trump was on the view this morning and he was his usual bold and brash self, he made no comments or apologies about his comments about carly fiorina and insists once against he is the best candidate to bring change to the country. >> another feud erupts, a new cover story in rolling stone quieted donald trump saying this about carly fiorina, look at this faces cries, would anyone vote for that. last night fiorina brushed off the comments, maybe i'm getting

police are investigating two more possible shootings this morning on a busy freeway in arizona, at least 12 vehicles are struck by objects in phoenix over the last two weeks, seven of the incidents involved bullets and the rest involved unspecified project aisles, a 13-year-old girl suffered minor injuries. police are considering these acts domestic terrorism. the president hopes to seal the deal with iran, they believe they have the votes.

meantime house republicans have launched a last ditch try to rerail the deal. they say they cannot provide -- police say that a michigan firefighter is dead after a driver intensely ran him over while the firefighter was raising money for charity. dennis rodepman died last night, the driver that hit him a 22-year-old fled the scene and then stopped his vehicle and tried to run on foot and that is when he was arrested. the 35-year-old firefighter that just searched in the u.s. marines, he was recently married and his wife is pregnant with their first child. a los angeles county firefighter interrupted his own wedding to save a guest's life, the groom's father was giving a speech and someone was choking and the groom jumped up to help.

fiat chrysler is recalling 100,000 pickup trucks to fix airbag, they found some ram trucks have a defect that could make the airbags inflate without a crash and they have a problem

with side curtain airbags. chrysler says no injuries are reported and owners will receive notices in the mail with additional information. >> there is a potential break through for people with type one diabetes, they essentially reversed the disease in wendy peacock, she had a cell transplant that is helping her produce insulin for the first time in 26 years, if this continues to work that could mean an end to the injections that diabetes deal with every day. had run round of this earlier during the morning broadcast and a lull with more spotty activity, but as we move into the lunch hour, we have another round of heavier cells coming in. wilmington is getting a break but where it is you get heavy downpour producing cells and they don't move quickly. like here in salem county, they take a while to get on through. going in tighter to philadelphia, no lightning in around the region, but heavy downpours from center city to philadelphia. and areas around ben salem, lets back it out wide and go in tighter again to areas to the south as we have a lot of lightning with these thunderstorms coming in through cape may and dover, delaware, these are producing a lot of them, look at that, in this narrow view, 123 lightning strikes in the last 10 to 20 minutes and a big cluster around dover delaware, back into the

unsettled pattern with the thunderstorms popping up again, we have sky 6 hd, we see the rain blowing through the region ahead of the heavier downpours and if you get caught on the roads you'll have to slow it down and this amount of rain can put a lot of water in poor drainage areas in a hurry. 75 in philadelphia and the dew point at 72, it's very muggy out there, even when it isn't raining, 72 in allentown untrenton and a 73 in cape may, new jersey. future tracker 6 picking up the rain storey, we don't get a big break, from now until 3:00, there is a lot of this around, the latest model run at 6:00 shows the heavier cells coming closer to the shore and as we get into 10:00, 11:00, mostly dry and not as widespread rain but as late as 11:00 there is the possibility of another round

of these pop-up producing showers and thunderstorms. a thunderstorm mixed in to the lee lie sally and at the shore 82 degrees and mostly cloudy and rain and at times thunderstorms and parts of the shore get that now. 82 and periods of rain and thunderstorms today, some of the downpours definitely drenching and it looks like the bulk of this will be over this evening and additional stuff later tonight cannot be ruled out. dropping humidity and an improving forecast with a high of 84, on saturday the next system is coming out quick letter and a high of 83 and we transition from early sun to cloudy skies in the afternoon and the possibility of showers in the afternoon and at night. a few more on sunday and they may be moving to the north and eastern portion of the region, 77 on sunday and a long time about a month, with a high in the 70s. >> i may need a sweatshirt.
