championships. bama's 6-4. of course, last year, alabama won it 29-15. and it will be a defensive showdown, no doubt about it. it has been a fun ride to arrive at this point of the college football season. i'm glad you've taken it with us. joe tessitore, todd blackledge, holly rowe with you here in the final minute from tallahassee. todd, we talked about whether or not there was a college football playoff implication on this game or not. 41 players, between these teams, came from just 15 high schools in the state of florida. 41 out of 15 schools. they have known each other for a long time. as teammates, as rivals and now as college rivals.
>> todd: it's an interesting rivalry, too, as holly touched on it. florida state, florida wouldn't schedule them for the longest time. and then they were forced to schedule them. the miami/florida state rivalry is a little bit more respectful. there's a little bit more bitter feelings in this one, between the seminoles and the gators. the schools are closer together. and the feelings are a little bit more intense between the two schools. >> joe: for year, florida wouldn't play them. wouldn't come here. for the older fans, it means a lot especially. austin appleby, 14 of 29 tonight, only 109 yards passing. as he cranks this up and gets it complete to lewis. past midfield.

heard gunshots. >> when officers responded, more gunfire would erupt. >> we saw a flash. that's when a perimeter a mild wide was set up, 25 homes evacuated and a standoff would begin. >> cops and cars. you couldn't get through. it was like something out of a t.v. show, something you have never seen. my mom and i were told to shelter in place. >> neighbors say the suspect's name -- >> paul. >> police sent in a robot and saw that it was over. >> at that point we made entry to the property and confirmed the male was dead of what appears to be a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. >> i'm glad it's over. >> the police did a marvelous job. that's all i can say. >> you can see how many guns were removed.
law enforcement, everyone here happy there were no injuries. bob brooks, action you news. >> philadelphia police officers shot a man several times last night when they say he pointed a gun in their direction. this happened on the 2900 block of amber street. detectives say they tried to stop him earlier but he ran off. when they cornered him he raised a gun to him. officers fired repeatedly. he was taken to temple hospital and remains there tonight. mean whiem one of the bullets hit a woman in the leg who was walking about a block away. she was streeted and released. >> a woman accused of driving drunk slammed head on into a cherry hill patrol car this morning. she was driving the wrong way on i-70 near kingston drive. the woman was driving east in
the westbound lanes and drove into the police car. she and the officer were treated at the hospital and released. the woman has been charged with dui. >> also four people were involved in a crash this afternoon on route 55 franklin township. the driver lost control, went off the road and hit several trees. two of the four inside were ejected. all four were taken to cooper medical center. no further information has been released at this time. at city hall in philadelphia, they put up the christmas tree. >> the joy of the christmas season is part of the holiday celebration at dilworth park. >> it's a great city. >> christmas lights and cellphone screens lit up the night as the crowd enjoyed
