get a good amount of sunshine mixing with the clouds. today is breezy, that will help dry out the roads for us. mostly sunny, relatively mild temperatures above average, 56 degrees. the winds will be gusty, 12 to 25 miles per hour. i'll take you hour by hour in the forecast in just a few minutes, matt. >> reporter: we're starting to dry out, but dealing with wet conditions as you head out on this thursday morning. therefore we're seeing accidents. a new one popping up on i-95. northbound as you head away from broad street toward the walt whitman bridge. appears to be a single vehicle, can you see it there? wow, that's what's happening. there's no emergency cruise on the scene, people are flying up and noticing it at the last minute and merging to the left. there's about a few near misses already. hopefully police officers get
here soon this is dangerous, people merging at the last second missing other vehicles in order to miss the one vehicle accident on i-95 northbound. elsewhere it was construction blocking the princeton avenue cottman avenue ramp to i-95 northbound. the crews have cleared out. a crash on the schuylkill expressway eastbound by montgomery has cleared out of the way. south on the boulevard extension exiting at ridge avenue watch out there is a lake on the off ramp. we have puddles and ponding this morning creating a slippery ride. police are working together to put together a police chase. two men being chased by police broadsided a woman causing her death. >> reporter: matt, the woman was rushed to the hospital and short time later pronounced dead. this is the video from the
scene. two cruisers had their lights and sirens on when they pursuing the nissan. 7:15 at 17th and locust, the woman was struck broadside. the incident began a half mile away when officers responded to reports of shots fired. when they arrived, the people inside the nissan fled. we pulled video from a store around 48th and westminster, we see the car and nissan and another vehicle involved in an altercation and gunshots were fired from the black nissan and white vehicle. there was a shooting that did occur, the officers did follow that vehicle and unfortunately ended up in an accident at 52nd and locust. >> reporter: again, the woman died in the accident. we are told that the police officers were able to recover the two people inside the nissan they are facing charge, they had
to be brought to the hospital, police recovered a nine millimeter handgun in the car, as well. annie mccormick channel 6 "action news." back to you. >> thank you for that annie. a 24-year-old man is being questioned in connection with the hit-and-run death of a school girl in the overbrook section of the city. just hours before the arrest, police recovered the striking vehicle at a body shop in frazier, chester county. jay anna powell was walking open when she was hit at 63rd and land down and thrown nearly 90 feet. we spoke to her father who hopes that justice will be served. we'll have more on the story in the next hour of "action news." and philadelphia police now say that the death of a 2-year-old kensington boy was a homicide. police arrived at the home on the 600 block of east clemen tiny owe street to find the told user unresponsive.

route 70 cherry hill near wegmansaddonfield road. an officer is dead shot in tacoma, washington overnight. the suspect barricaded himself into a home creating a standoff with police that's been going on for hours. police responded to domestic violence call when shots rang out. the officer was rushed to the hospital for surgery and later died. the suspect is still in the home which is owned by a fellow church member. the homeowner when her children were escorted out of the house and led to safety when the officer was shot. the suspect fired at a sheriff helicopter. the officer who fatally keith will a month scott will
