rememri taken way too soon, the story book dedication for a new jersey toddler. plus, get ready for possible wintry weather, meteorologist chris sowers is at the "action news" big board with more. chris, winter weather. >> reporter: good afternoon, gray, just a little bit of winter weather, it's december, it's about time we started talking about this stuff. some of us could see light snow overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning for areas well north of the philadelphia. generally speaking temperatures are in the mid 40s, because we lost the gusty breeze of yesterday, it actually feels like the mid 40s. go over, 47. millville, 47. dover, 47. today woe don't have to -- we don't have to deal with the all the wind. but we have a couple of storms approaching the delaware and the lehigh valleys. they will get in here overnight

latest. >> reporter: gray, the only thing good out of this, nobody was hurt. the thief forced one man from room to room looking for vawnls. >> vawnls -- valuables. >> three armed men came in the house, they knocked on the door, i opened the door. >> reporter: the man asked me to hide his identity, the thieves barged in the house and made off with jewelry and christmas gifts. police say five adults and three children were home at the time, the man's wife claimed the thieves forced her and the children upstairs during the robbery. and swiped rings off her finks. >> they are going to steal and rob from my kids. >> reporter: according to police, the thieves escaped out the front door. several adults say they were not allowed to return to the home

for more than five hours. they questioned whether authorities are taking them seriously. >> no, they don't believe us at all. >> what do you have to say? >> it'sous. there's a break in around the corner. everybody is poor trying to get money. >> reporter: the alleged victims tell me they were told police are looking for surveillance video to corroborate rate the story. reporting live mayfair, jeff chirico channel 6 "action news." >> thank you for the update. the search continues for the suspect police were chasing who went the wrong way down i-95 causing a head-on collision with another car. that scene was i-95 near route 476 in ridley township, delaware county happened at 11:30 p.m. the suspect was heading south in the northbound lanes of i-95, when his car smashed right into

the other car. the suspect then jumped out of his car and ran into a nearby wooded area. a search with k-9 units and thermal imaging cameras turned up nothing. we know an innocent driver was injured in the crash. no word on that person's injuries. it is not clear why the police were chasing that suspect. and developing right now at noon, the number of dead has risen dramatically there in california, after the warehouse inferno. we know 24 people have died. the news comes as crews continue to search through the charred rubble of a converted warehouse known always the ghost ship. massive fire ignited friday night in oakland during an electronic music party. 100 people were attending the event. crews have been searching through the charred debris looking for people who are still missing right now. authorities say an investigation had already been taking place at that warehouse looking into

whether people had been living there illegally. the life of a 3-year-old child is being remembered in haddon township, new jersey, a park bench and plaque has been dedicated to brandon creteato. his father has been charged in his death. time now, 12:06 an update on the effort to force a statewide recount of the presidentialal election may be -- presidential election may be heading to the federal court. jill stein is seeking an emergency court order tomorrow. the stein campaign said it is committed in its effort to recount in pennsylvania and accused the state court system being i will equipped to address

[cheers and applause]. and there was plenty of celebrating when that trophy was hoisted after last night's final come back win, the victory against wisconsin makes another giant leap for the penn state program. 38-31 win was the greatest come back in the history of the big ten championship. person state was down three touchdowns and roared back to shock wisconsin. the first conference title for penn state since 2008. the win would mean a playoff game for the nittany lions and fans could not be more excited.

homeless. the building where the fire started was under construction. the investigation into the fire will continue today. country singer granger smith is in a north jersey hospital after he fell from a stage during a performance. we have the video of him taking the fall, there he goes. he managed to get back up and continue with the concert. we are told he was standing on a audio monitor when it gave way and fell into a metal barricade. after the concert he was taken to the hospital where he was treated for two broken ribs and partially collapsed lung. the remaining concerts this week have been canceled. >> reporter: he finished the show? >> yeah. >> reporter: wow. >> let's talk about the weather hopefully there's not too much wow.

in sports on the same night temple football won its title championship game, an alum got an opportunity for the big league in hockey. the eagles are hoping to turn their road scores around in cincinnati this afternoon. the birds have picked up one win in five road games so far this season. much of the blame has been put on the defense that has allowed 25 points a game on the road giving up 13 at home. kickoff against cincinnati is about a half-hour away. former sixerses head coach -- sixers head coach billy cunningham rang the bell last night. joel embiid, rested last night.

fatal fire from the warehouse in oakland, california. investigators say 24 people were killed in the inferno that happened friday night. distance are missing, firefighters are continue going to through the rubble to find the victims. abc's lauren lister is live in oakland, california with the latest on the investigation. already, 24 victims do we expect the number to increase? >> reporter: good afternoon, gray, they made no mistake they expect the number to rise, they are recovering bodies still as we speak as the search efforts continue in addition to the 24 number that was a staggering jump from the 9 that we had 12 hours earlier. we also learned 20% of the buildings has been searched. one fire official saying it's the most deadly fire she has seen in other 20 year history here. crews working through the night trying to recover bodies from the wreckage of the horrific

studio. >> this is a devastating scene it is complicated and it is going to take us time to do the methodical investigation that these families disoarve -- deserve. >> reporter: while they don't know the cause of the fire, there are a number of questions about safety issues. the buildings was under investigation for safety violations, they are not giving any information on that, saying they are focusing on the victims and their families. lauren lister, channel 6 "action news." >> back here in philadelphia, police are investigating a home invasion in the city's mayfair section, the homeowner said three mask men broke into the home and stole money. he said the suspect took christmas toys out of the home on oakmont.

police are investigating. shots were fireside in an montgomery county neighborhood, medics flew a man to penn presbyterian hospital in critical condition after he was shot in the stomach inside his home on the 1200 block of dekalb pike in norristown. police have not named any suspects or motives in the shooting. many people living in center city will likely never forget the day an entire city block was covered with foam up to 6 feet high. take a look at this right here. the foam was a safety feature triggered by an explosion inside a peco substation along the 400 block of south juniper street. there were no injuries reported. but there was pleasant going on to put folks in a scare there. >> we saw in our backyard this invasion of the foam monster. >> the fire am alarm was going on, i heard a huge explosion.

webilities -- went out this weekend to first responders who helped save a man's life. a man called 911 after falling inside his home in chester. he was too disoriented to give his exact location. they used technology to find the general area. once in the right neighborhood, ems went door to door knocking on every home until they found the victim. >> the gentleman was in distress, we were going to get help to him no matter what we had to do. i could hear the knock and i couldn't wait to tell them on the radio it was them knocking. >> so glad the first responders were there. the man was taken to the

places like atlanta, nashville, charlotte all seeing rain this afternoon all pushing east over the next several hours. after this passes another storm develops down here in the southern gulf of mexico. and that comes up the coast and brings more wet weather to the region, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, you will see that reflected in the seven-day forecast. it doesn't look like a pretty week. future tracker 6, 5:00 p.m., mainly cloudy we'll see the precipitation overspread the area from west to east after midnight tonight. we'll stop the clock at 3:00 a.m., from that point it's snowing steady across the lehigh valley and the poconos, raining everywhere else, it is such a fast-moving system we're not expecting much of anything here, maybe a tenth of an inch of rain maybe more in the philadelphia area. coating of snow for the lehigh valley, maybe more in the higher elevations of the poconos. maybe they pick up an inch of

snow. the bottom line it's not a big system. there could slick spots in the lehigh valley, but it's not that big of a deal. 9:00 a.m., monday, most of it is long gone. monday afternoon, it's nice, combination of sun and clouds. as far as impact, well, there could be a couple of early on,ch valley, perhaps some of the back roads or sidewalks could be slick, otherwise once we get past the morning commute it's smooth sailing the rest of the way, 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., combination of sunny and clouds. beyond that we get into most of this week, look at these precipitation chances, this is a morning threat 90% on monday. tuesday that's an afternoon threat. wednesday, thursday, 60% chance of rain both days. it's going to be one of those weather patterns it's just kind of gray and gloomy all day long with scattered showers, and if you're not getting a shower you're getting drizzle.
