53 before we zip back down to 545 by 6:00 p.m. karen, you've had problems on the roads. >> reporter: a big accident is blocking all lanes in upper merion. this is our sky 6 view of henderson road. we have a street-level view. the action cam is live on the scene. you get a better idea of what's happening. see the tanker truck, look at the front end of the pick pickup truck. you can see the wreckage of the vehicle that looks like it hit the back of the tanker truck. they have henderson road all blocked off between shoemaker road and gulph road. watch for this intersection in upper merion. police are on the scene, you can

see how damp it is out there. that's a big problem causing a closure. stick to shoemaker road and crooked road. henderson road shut down at this point. looking at the big picture, the rain moved through, it wasn't icy just wet here. on the blue route, conshohocken, roads are damp in the city, as well. i-95 seeing slowing 29 miles per hour at cottman. we had an accident i-95 southbound the off ramp to columbus, that accident cleared, an accident norristown, marshall street looking better. the accident in hammonton still out here, there were three different accidents blocking the two right lanes, at times we're seeing slow speeds on the ac westbound past route 54 in hammonton. we're hearing there were horses that got away from a farm, they are running away. police were trying to corral them on the atlantic city expressway, the sight of all this caused three different accidents. let's begin with a

developing story here, a series of heroin overdoses claimed 6 lives in philadelphia. police believe they got their hands on a bad batch of the drug that is circulating the city. katherine scott has more. >> reporter: matt, that's right, 6 overdoses all last night in the same general area. police continue to investigate. let's go to the video from the kensington area him all the overdoses happened, five happened in kensington, all within blocks of each other. the latest fatal case that police confirmed was a man in his 30s on the 600 block of east indiana avenue. that happened add 8:00 p.m. five other cases reported before that. 24-year-old man was overdosed on the 3000 block of north broad. two people kensington avenue including a 42-year-old man on the 3300 block. the last two fatal cases include

a woman in her 30s on the 3300 block of amber street. and a man in his 40s on the 2800 block of d street. police are investigating a bad batch of heroin circulating throughout philadelphia for the last months or so. whether the overdoses had anything to do with that batch or a different batch. that's under investigation. east detective's want to hear from you if you have any tips. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> a barrage of bullets erupted in hunting park someone opened fire leaving bullet holes in a house and parked cars. it happened on north darian street. investigators say it's not clear what led up to the shooting. a philadelphia couple said their family was robbed at gunpoint and the thieves took off with everything including the christmas toys. it happened in the city's mayfair section. police say three young men knocked on the door and forced

their way inside. the man said the thieves took jewelry and cash and his children's christmas gifts. >> they kept saying they were going to shoot me if i didn't give it up. >> no one was hurt and no arrests have been made. a plane that took off from philadelphia international landed with an extra passenger on board, a woman went into labor forcing the pilot of the southwest flight to land in charleston, south carolina. medical personnel on board helped deliver the baby safely. the family was taken to the hospital. the rest of the passengers finished the flight and landed in orlando. donald trump intends to nominate benefit carson to -- ben carson to head the department of housing and urban development. he is finding himself at the center of an diplomatic flap after taking a call from the president of taiwan.

jersey, the rain is moving out. developing overnight, a drive by shooter executed a rookie corrections officer who was shot sitting in a car outside a home in brooklyn. officers found her with gunshot wounds to the head and torso. a motive is unclear. no arrests have been made. the corrections officer bee nerve -- association is shocked and grieving the murder of bryant. a fire at a four star hotel in pakistan left 50 people dead. you can see white bed sheets tied together hanging from the windows where people tried to jump to safety. the fire quickly spread throughout the highrise, former are among those being treated for burns. most buildings do not meet safety standards to avoid such mishaps. a georgia father convicted

rocked by -6r -- 6 deadly heroin overdoses. police are trying to trace the drug batch before there are more. katherine scott is outside police headquarters with the latest. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, that's right, 6 fatal heroin overdoses and philadelphia police are investigating today, five of them happened in kensington within blocks of each other. the latest case confirmed by police happened around 8:00 p.m. on the 600 block of east indiana avenue. police in his 30s had a fatal her woin -- heroin overdose. a 40-year-old man dialed on east broad. two people died on kensington avenue. the last fatal case include a woman in her 30s who died on the 3300 block of amber street and man in his 40s on d street.
