as us take a look at storm tracker6 well actually satellite and then radar imagery match down to the south and west you can see that clouds are beginning to fill in through about half the region. the farther north you go this morning the more sun you're going to see and eventually clouds will until everywhere and this rain coming from the south and west will be here. most of it holding off until the afternoon. 38 degrees currently in philadelphia, so a little colder this morning than it was yesterday. in allentown we're at 28 degrees, below freezing in reading and lancaster. just barely above freezing in trenton. 38 degrees in wilmington, 39 in millville. and as you get towards cape may it's a little bit milder. not a lot of wind out there again this morning. we're basically looking at single digit winds. you don't have to hunch your shoulders too much against the wind although it's cold out there. still in the 30's by 7 o'clock this morning. mainly cloudy skies in philadelphia although we can't rule out a little bit of early sunshine. then by 10 o'clock, 40's basement noon, 44. and your high today is going to be just 48 degrees at 3 o'clock and by 2 o'clock or 3 o'clock in philadelphia we'll be on the lookout for rain. it will be coming up from the

south and west before then so if you're in delaware or south jersey you may start getting wet as soon as 1 o'clock or 2 o'clock this afternoon and by 6 o'clock still wet, 46 degrees. rain continues overnight and we're still looking at that big time cool down. karen rogers the latest from accuweather coming up on that. >> all right dave. for now roads are drive. you got a dry early morning commute. looking at the vine street expressway westbound and eastbound closed overnight for construction. expected to reopen at 5:00 a.m. starting to see two cars move through westbound on the vine but overall the ramps president barack obama blocked and you can see police on the scene with that but they should be clearing that out. yesterday rain and slippery conditions up to the north. now we're looking at the big picture and starting off with a lot of green showing that green traffic flow. we have an issue, an accident blocking the two right lanes. it's on the turnpike eastbound between willow grove and bensalem so watch nor one. also eastbound on the turnpike between downingtown and valley

hill another accident blocking the right lane so two different accidents on the turnpike eastbound. other than that you're looking okay matt and tam. >> thank you, karen. breaking overnight new jersey state police say a trooper involved in a head-on crash in millville has died. trooper frankie williams was on route 55 responding to a call when a car crossed the median and slammed into his cruiser. the driver of the car was also killed. "action news" reporter annie mccormick is live at cooper university hospital in camden where doctors could not save that trooper, annie. >> reporter: matt, that's right, trooper frankie williams was just 31 years old. i want to give you a look at this video. this is video from last night after he was pronounced dead at cooper university hospital. here you can see camden county officers saluting the trooper as his body was escorted away from the hospital. well, 7 o'clock monday night that trooper williams was

heading to a call on route 55 in millville. according to police, a man driving a toyota corolla crossed the center median hitting williams in his car head on. the man was pronounced dead at the scene. and williams was rushed to cooper hospital by helicopter. that is where doctors pronounced dead him dead a short time later at the hospital and back out here live we are told that williams just graduated from the academy back in january. he was assigned to the port norris station and he is also from atlantic county. now, that crash still remain under investigation so more details to come from state police. for now reporting live in camden, annie mccormick, channel6 "action news." back to you, matt. >> thank you, annie. also breaking this morning a double shooting has left one man dead and an innocent by that stand wounded. gunfire ear represented at a laundromat in the city's logan section around 12:30a police say a 22-year-old man was shot several times and died at the

hospital. the bystander 39-year-old man was shot in the ankle while he was simply walking home. >> it appears that the shooter was firing shots from very close proximity and due to the fact that the victim was hit four times it appears that this 22-year-old was the intended target. >> police are talking to witnesses and checking surveillance cameras in the area. >> wilmington police trying to determine if a young man who was shot four times was the victim of a robbery. they were called to the report of gunfire at 22nd and pine streets just after 5 o'clock yesterday evening. in a home nearby they found a 19-year-old man with gun shots wounds to his right arm leg and hips. he was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. now investigators say there were several reports of armed holdups in that area around the same time. new from the overnight, fire damaged a delaware county home that was built in the 1800s. the flames broke out just past 11 o'clock last night on nyack avenue in lansdowne. officials say the fire started

on the second floor and spread to the third. people inside the home at the time of the fire were able to get out safely. >> the death toll from that warehouse fire in oakland california is now up to 36 people and crews are not done yet going through all of that rubble. as well, prosecutors are trying to decide if someone should now face criminal charges. ab's lauren lyster is live at the scene in that oakland. good morning, lauren. >> reporter: good morning, tam. recovery efforts here going into day five in what is now the deadliest building fire in the last decade in this country. now, officials yesterday say they do not expect huge numbers of victims from here but they have to get through that whole building and this morning their grim work continues. this morning investigators searching for the cause of the deadliest fire in oakland's history. the devastating blaze turning a friday night concert at this artist colony into an inferno. >> fire went up really, really

quickly. >> reporter: firefighters tell abc news they believe it started on the first floor in the back of this warehouse and new details continues to emerge about the treacherous conditions inside. these images showing the staircase leading to the front door leaving virtually no way out. >> you couldn't have more than two people on that staircase before it it would just fall down. it was not only dangerous but it was disgusting. >> reporter: a building with a long history of violations complaints about blight and people living there illegally. now a criminal probe into the tragedy. the range of charges could be murder all the way to involuntary manslaughter and until we know what the evidence shows us, there may be other charges if the evidence presents that. >> reporter: the community monday night mourning the dozens of victims killed most of those identified in their 20's and 30's, one, though, just 17.

>> welcome back. breaking news coming to us from the frankford section of the city. take a look. you see some of the smoke there up against the lights there in the night sky. this is the 4500 block of frankford avenue about 4 o'clock, 45 minutes ago crews were out on the scene of a two alarm fire. we're told they just got this fire under control. but this is a row of businesses that have apartments above. when they got there heavy fire was showing from the second and the third floors quickly going to a two alarm situation but again as you see the flashing lights, all the firefighters and crews there in the street. we're being told that they've gotten these fires under control, the 4500 block of frankford avenue there in the frankford section of the city. and a snow covered street in montreal caused slow motion pileup. you can see it happening right there. it start wade bus crash yesterday morning that crashed into the back of a car which then collided with four other vehicles. a taxi comes down the hill but

manages to avoid the mess. a truck, a police car an plow not so lucky. that feeling when you know just it's going out from under you and there's nothing you can do but slide. fortunate no one was hurt. >> weird thing is they tend to be able to handle these situations up in canada how much snow and ice they it. >> maybe it's the early season i don't know but that was not good up there. traveling to the poconos later tonight or later this afternoon be careful because we're looking at one to 3-inches of snow from today's system there. around here it's just rain and storm tracker6 live double scan shows you that the morning rush hour is going to be fine today. we were wet yesterday but today it's going to be the evening commute that's affected by this precipitation. it's cold out there this morning. no precipitation around. 38 degrees. there's sky6 and sky6 showing you appropriately i guess given that the poconos anyway going get a little snow today. there's our christmas tree and that is right down there at dillworth plaza and our brand

new sky6 camera at city hall. temperature right now 38 degrees and your winds out of the north at 6 miles per hour. they were on the light side out there but it is cold this morning and a little colder than it was yesterday. so here's the situation with our precipitation. there might be a little early sunshine but by the time we get into the late morning early afternoon it really clouds up and by 1 o'clock it looks like wildwood and dover may start to see some rain and the model has this overtaking us probably by about 3 o'clock in philadelphia. so, kids on the way home from school might want an umbrella especially in the southern half of the region but maybe even up to philadelphia and then by 5 o'clock tonight the rain is everywhere. notice how we are looking at snow up in the poconos and later today and tonight one to 3 inches of snow up there. at times this model has some of that wet snow starting to push down into allentown. now we think temperatures are going to be just above the freezing mark so hopefully just wet roads up there. if you're driving out and about later this evening or later tonight up in the lehigh valley you want to be careful just in case there's a freeze-up there.

rain everywhere also across the region right up until 11 o'clock. so obviously this system isn't here yet and the impact will be zilch between 7 o'clock and 10 o'clock. by 1 o'clock parts of the region start get a little bit wet. by 4 o'clock to 7 o'clock that evening rush hour does look wet and probably slow as a result. your temperatures today 37 degrees by 8 o'clock, 40 by 10 o'clock. by noon we're up to 44 and today's high is a chilly 48 degrees at around 3 o'clock with that rain moving in from the south probably around 3 o'clock in philadelphia and other points in the i-95 corridor. 48 is the high in philadelphia. close to that in wilmington and trenton. low to mid 40's up in allentown, reading and lancaster and probably around 50 for millville on down to the shore. and then tomorrow and we'll start this after midnight tonight, we will see less rain overall. by the time we wake up in the morning at 6 o'clock we're down just a few sprinkles and showers still kind of cloud deal. as the day goes on clouds will have a tendency to break up a little bit. might have to wait until pretty late in the day nor to happen. today's high is a chilly

48 degrees. we've got cloudy skies building during the many during the morning and then afternoon rain building in. and then tomorrow mostly cloudy, still cool, 52. and then on thursday mostly cloudy with a late day shower possible and a temperature starts to drop to 45 and we're still looking at that cold crush on friday and saturday, a-39 on friday maybe some flurries around. sunny brisk and cold on saturday a high of just 38 and increasing clouds on sunday for that eagles game, 42 degrees but it does look like we'll be drive. on monday we're looking at rain with a high of 48 although early in the morning for parts of the region could it start as a wintry mix. we'll keep our eyes on that for if you. remember when we're not on the air you can always get the latest weather information by going to 6abc.com/weather. and the weather will turn as as we go into the afternoon today. >> a bucks county school board member publicly apologized for his controversial facebook post. douglas mcdunn nap said he was sorry several times throughout the new hope solebury school board meeting last night. parents and community members

called on mcdonough to resign after criticized people who wear safety pins which is a symbol that encourages support for minority groups and the lgbt communities. the post has since been delete. some parents and students say they saw mcdonough's comment as a threat of violence. mcdonough says he has no plans to resign. >> harassment against a decorated muslim police officer is the latest in a wave of hate crimes in new york city. the officer says she was off duty on saturday when she encountered a man yelling and pushing her 16-year-old son. when she intervened she said the man threatened to slit her throat and told her to go back to her country. the suspect is charged with several hate crimes. the officer born and raised in new york city was honored for saving two people from a fire two years ago. >> i became a police officer to show the positive side of new york muslim woman that can do the job that is nonbiased. i help everybody no matter what your religion, what's
