yup it's that time of the year. >> matt pellman is here and david murphy will tell us how cold it will get. >> reporter: it is cold out there, as you step outside, most neighborhoods in the 30s, a couple of spots in the 20s. 35 degrees in philadelphia. currently. down below the freezing mark in trenton and reading and lancaster. 29 degrees there. approximate 3 in wilmington, 33 in allentown. upper 20s in millville. 44 in cape may. everybody dealing with a chill. not much wind, but something to keep in mind the breezes will pick up this afternoon that will make it feel extra uncomfortable. 36 degrees by 7:00 a.m. 43 by noon. sunny breaks, eventually a mix of sun and clouds. 45 around 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m., 41. 7:00 p.m., 37 degrees, again the high of 45 winds picking up during the afternoon. windchills later tonight will make it feel like the 30s and eventually the 20s and the teens by tomorrow morning.

a cold snap coming, matt, we'll have the details on that in the seven day. >> reporter: it had to arrive at some point, unfortunately to some of us. good morning, everybody, we're live along the blue route in delco. southbound come the headlights. just out of view, a single-vehicle accident shutting down the ramp to villanova to route 30. that ramp is blocked because of a single vehicle crash. the ramp from the blue route southbound to villanova closed at this hour because of an accident. overnight construction on i-95, southbound near academy has cleared out. let's see if this zone has cleared. looks like it has in both directions along the vine expressway reopened, the final crews pulling away as we watch. they are closing the southbound side of 130 at 47. there's the circle. i would use 295 instead.

salem county downed wires are still closing the ramps at exit 1. you want to get to 40 off the noon turnpike, you can do that, but southbound construction there, as well. >> frantic search is underway for a driver who hit a 12-year-old boy in new castle county delaware and fled the scene. the boy ask on the mend after suffering from multiple broken bones. annie mccormick is live at new castle police department with the latest. it makes you angry when you think about what will happen with this child for the holidays. >> reporter: his mom said he will not be home for christmas. this was a witness who said the car stopped and took off. like you said the little boy was many surgeries ahead. this is 12-year-old brian richards a 7th grader who is active in sports. new castle county police say monday he was struck by a hit-and-run driver as he tried

news." >> new on "action news," video posted on social media might have sparked a fight between two north hampton high school students. it happened at saucon high school in november. a student recorded a black stiewbt while he was -- student while he was eating and shouting racial insults. the 16-year-old faces charges while the other students was reprimanded. the district attorney said he is launching an investigation. >> when you start to intimidate or harass in video taping them and referring them in racial terms that crosses the line. >> the district attorney said the 14-year-old who posted the video may be charge with ethnic intimidation or harassment.

a suspected crook is behind bars thanks to social media. police released pictures of the man wanted for attacking a woman in cherry hill. facebook followers identified the man. police arrested him and charged him with second degree robbery. a convicted child predator who fled montgomery county has been captured in ending land. the 33-year-old disappeared in 2006 after pleading guilty to felony charges in montgomery county. he had sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl and tried to arrange a meeting with 12-year-old girl. he was on america's most wanted after he skipped town. police found an unidentified man shot in the head he was rushed to christiana hospital where doctors are trying to keep him alive.

now, but will pick up this afternoon and tonight. down the shore, clouds and sun, 49 degrees next to the water. in philadelphia, 45 this afternoon, clouds and sun, and that breeze continue to go build. later today 8 to 16 miles per hour which will be enough to make the 45 degrees feel like 40. maybe the upper 30s and the wind continue to pick up overnight. we get a low of 30 overnight, with increasing wind we'll have windchills in the upper teens and low 20s by tomorrow morning. there you will see the wind building between 25 miles per hour. big dome of high pressure over canada has a dome of cold air and it is shifting in our direction over the next 24 hours. it will moderate, but by saturday we'll have highs in the upper 30s and we'll hold there on friday, as well. three straight days you're looking at highs in the upper
