highway, at oxford valley road. all traffic forced off. i-95 is the option for you, instead. walt whitman bridge, out of the way now. welcome back, tam. >> good to be back. >> reporter: happening today, a camden jury will hear opening statements in the trial of david creato who is accused of killing his 3-year-old son. katherine scott is joining us live outside the courthouse with more on the proceedings. >> reporter: good morning, tam, that's right, the jury has been selected and opening statements are set to begin in the case. the defense team maintained d.j.creato's innocence. opening statements are set to begin in camden for 23-year-old, prosecutors believe he killed his 3-year-old son brandon because his 17-year-old
girlfriend thought the child got in the way of their relationship. >> she was always fighting with me. >> reporter: defense tried to suppress the recording how his then girlfriend threatened to break up with him if his son was part of his life. 6:00 a.m., a 911 call came in reporting brendan missing from had an don township. >> i don't know where he is. the door was locked, i guess he unlocked it and left. from there authorities launched a search, three hours later brandon's body was found in cooper river park. prosecutors say there's no way that he wandered there on his own, thats sox were clean and he
was afraid of the dark. opening statements are set for this morning at 9:00 a.m., of course, "action news" will be in the courtroom to bring you all the latest developments, live in camden, katherine scott channel 6 "action news." >> thank you, katherine. a high-speed chase and confrontation with police came to a deadly end in new castle county delaware. he led officers on a wild chase in wilmington yesterday, he crashed two miles away and took off running. police shot and killed a man following a confrontation saint helena's church. >> it was like seconds, we heard shots. >> at least two officers involved in the chase were taken to the hospital. the man who was shot was not identified. police would not say if he was armed and they have not
indicated why they were initially following him. >> a car was badly damaged as the man drove the wrong way down the 3600 block of north 8th street in the hunting park neighborhood to escape a hail of gunfire. a 29-year-old man was shot in the back and crashed into parked cars. the victim was rushed to temple university hospital where he was recovering. no word on why the shots fired. animal control picked up three pitbulls that killed another dog. they targeted a killed a small dog inside a fenced in back dog. the dog's owner tried to fight off the pitbulls and was attacked. the pitbulls will be evaluated. firefighters battle the the blaze in the city's tacony section. snacks it was there as authorities brought out a
12-inch alligator that was found in the an apartment at a barrier shop. one person was taken to the hospital for treatment. the cause is under investigation. stockton university new atlantic city campus takes a step forward, a ground breaking ceremony takes place at albany and the boardwalk this morning. it is part of the gateway project. stockton officials plan to have the campus open next year. a new stance with iran. details ahead on possible changes by the trump administration. >> they are a nuisance and attraction, how icebergs are drawing tourists while forcing ships to find new routes. >> reporter: we have a couple of sprinkles around here and there. no big deal, the big thing today

we have a spotty shower around predominantsly in the morning -- predominantly in the morning and later tonight. it's warmer today, 75 degrees for the high today despite lots of clouds and early shower. you'll be able to get out there and enjoy much of the way. future tracker 6 showing the showers a little more prominent during the morning commute. may be overplaying it a little bit. we advance through the day, not a whole lot. much of the day a dry for activities. anything you're doing, 757 for the high, get out there and enjoy it. thursday, around 11:30. late today and tomorrow we'll see showers and thomas pop up. that will hold off until night, so much of the daytime is dry. tomorrow morning you'll see them popping through. we're looking at an unsettled pattern. tomorrow, 80 degrees for the
high, ahead of the cold front with the southerly flow. it allows the temperatures to get even higher than today. again we have a chance for a morning thundershower and the afternoon tomorrow gets a little brighter. the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast, lots of clouds today, much like yesterday, a couple of peeks of sunshine. it's much warmer, 75 for the high. we'll see showers around through the morning, especially, i think much of the day is dry, maybe later tonight you get a thundershower into tomorrow morning. very warm tomorrow, 80 for the high. you get a couple of warm days, knock the temperature down on saturday, nice early on sunshine, increasing clouds looks like the rain arrives saturday night high of 66 into sunday. sunday periods of rain, at this point looks like 55 for the high. feeling raw with clouds and rain at times. monday, clouds and sunshine, turns milder. 66. tuesday is nice and sunny, we

>> an ohio police officer was called to break up a street fight, he never imagined walking in on this. it was a pair of deer on their hind legs duking it out. police dash cam was rolling when he found the two deer going at it in the middle of a residential street. once the officer arrived, the animals looked a little embarrassed and stopped fighting and took off. four cars derailed dumping
