standoff which lasted for hours. we'll be at the nfl draft site and rick williams will join us in a moment. now the detailsed standoff is over -- details, the standoff is over and the suspect is dead in the aftermath of a fatal shooting of a delaware state trooper. chopper 6 hd was over the scene in middletown delaware where the suspect who was not been identified engaged police in a standoff that lasted 20 hours. the windows of the home blown out with explosives used by police. john rawlins is live at the delaware state police barracks in glasgow with the latest. >> reporter: sarah hopefully we'll get a briefing at trooper 2 where flags are already at half staff. police will release additional

details. police say the standoff ended at 9:17 the suspect run out of the house in the five hundred block of saint michael as drive in middletown at that time engaged police and shot by officers. he was pronounced dead 12 minutes later. the suspect was wanted for the fatal shooting of copper actual stephen ballard outside this wawa in bear, delaware. this morning the corporal's flag-draped casket was move from the medical examiner's office to a funeral home. the house belonged to the suspect's family it was heavily damaged during the siege. shortly before 8:30 p.m. police report they used an explosive charge to blow open the front door. overnight gunfire came from inside the house. police responded by using additional explosive to breach a number of windows. some nearby homes were

we're seeing a breeze waffling back and forth. only 7, 8, 9, 10 miles per hour. we had low thick cloud cover early this morning, that has filtered out. we're seeing higher thinner clouds and we're seeing sunshine dig through the clouds. 79 degrees is the high at the airport. i think center city gets up to 80. 80 in wilmington. 75 in trenton. 65 in cape may. the phillies kicking the marlins out of town, hopefully with another victory, they won last night. 75 for the first pitch, in the 9th inning, 80 degrees, cool drinks if you're heading to the ballpark or the penn relays and 5:00 p.m., 78 degrees. as we roll in the evening, there's the high of 80 at 4:00 p.m. by 8:00 p.m., 71 degrees, 68 by 10:00 p.m.
