live at the nfl draft in the center of it all, matt. >> the philadelphia eagles select daric barnett. >> reporter: the eagles say they got their man. there were some twists and turns in the first night of the draft involving quarterbacks, but none of them had to do with the birds. in fact many saying the team played it safe. daric barnett defensive ends for tennessee set a record for sacks at school. the last person to hold it was the great reggie white. if barnett comes as close as white did in the pros, he will make the city proud. howie rosen said he has been looking at barnett since december. >> everyone in the city will see what kind of person he is, what kind of player he is, unbelievablably high character

emergency workers on the scene eastbound by belmont, chopper is panning back there's a fire truck on the scene, as well. traffic is slow as you head on the schuylkill expressway eastbound near belmont backing up right now because of the accident we have that is blocking a lane, at one point was blocking a right lane and left lane. now they are blocking a right lane creating a backup on the schuylkill expressway eastbound. you can see from the shot it's pretty with the sunshine coming in, the roads were wet early this morning, i think that led to what was a number of accidents. here's one in wyncote limb kiln pike at poe avenue. an accident at fairway road has cleared. hamilton township 129 southbound to route 29 blocking the right lane. i-95 northbound we have crews on the scene because a car was driving around the curve went over the road into the woods.

i don't know if you can see that car right there, but we've had a mess of accidents on a lot of highways, especially early this morning. be careful as you head out. the roads are damp from the early morning showers, but it seems to have done the trick. >> a home demolition went terribly wrong creating a haz/mat situation in north jersey. workers said they were unaware of oil canister on the property. they crushed it and sent the oil all over the neighbor's backyard. they expect the cleanup to last a few days. we'll be right back.
