in a couple of neighborhoods we could be talking about downpours by the shore. northern and western suburbs would be looking at an isolated strong thunderstorm. 65 is the current temperature in philadelphia. tranquil as we head outside in most neighborhoods. 59 in allentown. milder as we head into south jersey, a couple of spots closer to 70-degree mark. as we go through the day, 66 by 7:00 a.m. 77 by noon in philadelphia. a high of 79 around 3:00 p.m. this afternoon, some spots like center city might hit 80 or so. sprinkles and showers in the morning, as we head into the afternoon and overing hours you gusty thunderstorms can't be ruled out. karen, when i step inside we'll track the storms on future tracker 6. unfortunately we have a bit of unsettled pattern in the workweek. those details coming up in the seven day. >> reporter: we have roads a little damp, but not so bad right now. looking live on the blue route approaching conshohocken that's

the northbound traffic heading toward the schuylkill expressway. no problems in conshohocken. on the northeast extension we have the left lane blocked with construction crews between quakertown and lansdale. watch for this in both directions not causing a problem just yet. outside live on i-95 if you're coming down from bensalem or langhorne southbound traffic heading toward center city. moving nicely, a shower in one or two spots along the way. no construction or no problems on the vine street expressway, westbound/eastbound moving just fine all lanes are open tam. >> thank you, karen. breaking this morning, a manhunt is going on for an inmate in bucks county. police say the inmate was being transported when he somehow managed to escape near bristol and lower states road last night. residents are asked to stay inside their homes. anyone with information about his whereabouts is under to call

911. >> suspects busted into the back door of a home in west oak lane section and shot and killed a 29-year-old man, all this going on while the victim's grandmother was upstairs. jeanette reyes is live on the scene with the details. good morning, jennette. >> reporter: good morning, tam, this was a brazen home invasion that ended in execution-style murder. take a live look behind me, investigators are on the scene. it doesn't appear anything was taken from inside the home. all happened hours ago around 1:00 a.m. along the 6500 block of north 16th street in the west oak lane section of the city. the suspects kicked in the back door according to police and rushed into the home. the victim was sitting in the living room watching television when the suspects fired at him 11 dimes at pointblank range in the chest and the neck. take a listen to what police had to say. >> we found multiple spent

shell casings, large caliber, many shell casings were inches from the victim's body, so appears the shooter was standing in close proximity to the victim when he fired multiple shots. clearly appears to be an execution-type homicide. >> reporter: the victim's grandmother was in the second floor of the home in the bedroom. she was unharmed. police are questioning her and reviewing surveillance video from nearby hoping that will provide clues in finding the killers here. jeanette reyes channel 6 "action news." >> we have details on a crash on i-95, pennsylvania state police say one person was killed in the crash in tinicum township, delaware county. it happened along the northbound lanes near exit 10 last night. two vehicles smashed into each other, sending one airborne into the northbound lanes, the yukon

rolled over a third car. the three people in the yukon 18 years old or less than that were not wearing seat belts. one was killed. two others were rushed to the hospital. other people including juveniles in the two other vehicles suffered minor injuries. a man shot a guys twice in the rear alley away in overbrook section. officers rushed the victim to the hospital in serious, but stable condition. investigators are trying to figure out what shot the man and why. 5:05 a.m., happening today, after months of build up, the bill cosby sexual assault trial will begin in norristown. he is not expected to take the stand, but his accusers is expected to testify before the jury. in fact it will be the first time andrea constan will tell her story in public. she was a temple university

basketball team staffer. the 79-year-old actor said the encounter was consensual. coming up at 6:00 a.m. we'll have a full preview live from the montgomery county courthouse. happening today, closing arguments begin in the trial of lee kaplan, the bucks county man accused of sexually assaulting 6 girls from an amish family and fathering children from one of them. the parents gifted the girls to kaplan as thanks for financial help. the prosecution rested its case on friday, the defense did not present a case. fire destroyed a home in south philadelphia, flames broke out on sheridan street yesterday afternoon. crews gained the upper hand quickly and everyone got out safely, but the home is total loss. residents in bucks county are hoping a bear will leave their community and soon. the bear was spotted running through several neighborhoods in

to the north, but there's a chance it comes down into reading and allentown. philadelphia, a sprinkle, again more rain down south. by 10:30 p.m. more of the storm in the poconos may be coming toward the northern and western suburbs. there's a slight chance of an isolated severe storm tonight. it could produce damaging wind and hail, but the biggest issue for that would be up in the poconos, maybe toward allentown and reading. philadelphia much less of a chance of severe stuff later today and tonight. up in the lehigh valley, mostly cloudy, we'll call for the potential of a shower or thunderstorm. the best chance of a storm would be later today and tonight and 77 degrees. down the shore we're looking at showers around mostly cloudy, most of the showers a little later in the morning and through the afternoon, heavy downpour can't be ruled out at times down the shore, 73 is the high on the beach. in philadelphia, lots of clouds, a shower or thunderstorm can't be ruled out. as you saw on future tracker it is mostly dry, 79 degrees is the

on the search for an escaped inmate in bucks county. they have not found the individual yet, but we learned that the central bucks school district has canceled classes as a result of all this going on. there's a shelter in place for residents in warrington and chalfonte. the inmate escaped in the area of doylestown, but the search is underway in chalfonte and warrington. central bucks school district decided it will be canceling classes today as a result of the search and danger posed by the inmate walking around. >> we can imagine how scary it is to parents and school administrators, let's go over to karen rogers, good morning. >> reporter: we're looking live in exton, chester county looking good. route 100 at commerce drive it looks dry. coming down from phoenixville or
