prisoner. investigators say 25-year-old daniel sell bee junior escaped -- selby junior escaped custody around 10:30 p.m. last night. residents were told to stay in their homes and canceled bucks district school classes. it is believed he is out of the area. jeanette reyes has more outside doylestown and jennette he is still on the rub. >> reporter: that's right, alicia, going on 14 hours, less than 30 minutes ago we got the update that the search was called off for daniel selby junior. this is what residents went to sleep with and woke up to a heavy police preference the loud sound of helicopters hovering overhead and k-9 units and heavily armed police looking for the inmate. authorities spent 12 hours looking for him in heavily wooded areas with rough terrain and nearby quarries.
that complicated matters. it was not until 8:00 p.m. when police released details to media and residents. this started after the 25-year-old was picked up in landsdown for failure to app on a drug charge him while being transported he told officers he was sick, he was allowed out of the van and pushed the sheriff ran off into the night still handcuffed. police believe around 5:30 he was picked up at a 7-eleven at route 611 and he had -- edison road a mile away from the jail. >> detectives will interview family members and try to convince him to turn himself in. it is very important he does, maybe after he settles down and realizes the predicament he is in he'll turn himself in. >> we didn't know anything about his crime or description
nothing came out rargt the details, so oh owe regarding the details, so that made it more scary. >> reporter: selby was arrested for a drug charge he faces a felony charge and assault charge for pushing the sheriff. the person who picked him up will face charges. the search is on going, authorities believe he is out of the area. they will do what they can to track him down. reporting live in doylestown, jeanette reyes channel 6 "action news." >> after more than a year of pretrial hearings opening statements begin in the sexual assault trial against comedian bill cosby. the 79-year-old arrived at 8:45 a.m. he is charged with sexually assaulting a former temple university employee back in 2004. katherine scott is live outside the courthouse with the very latest. katherine? >> reporter: alicia, that's right, opening statements got underway this morning.
there were no cameras or transmission inside the courtroom. right now the defense is addressing the jury inside montgomery county courthouse. there's such an interest in the case there's a primary courtroom and overflow courtroom for additional reporters and members of the general public. let's start with video of bill cosby arriving. he is charged with aggravated indecent assault. he is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting andrea constan at his home in cheltenham in 2004. judge opened the day by speaking to the jurors they were selected in allegheny county and sequestered throughout the course of the trial. the judge met with each one of them individually and addressed them in open court and talked about following the court's instructions to maintain a fair and impartial trial. then it was time for the prosecution to give their opening statement. the assistant attorney said
trust betrayal and consent was violated. he placed a young trusting woman into a state where she she could not say no. constan believed the pills were her balance supplements and left her frozen and powerless. the defense is addressing the jury. the attorney said the only thing worse than sexual assault is a false accusation which is an attack on human dignity that could destroy a life. constan and another past aaccuser is expected to testify at the trial. cosby himself is not expected to

lighter shades of green. you can see out to the west of us northwest there's a little bit of a heavier shower these training west to east. if you're in honeybrook the western edge. chester county and points east of that, you may finds you get one of these cells and another and another and another after that. we have seen lightning earlier with this. i don't see it right now. as we look at the wider view, again what you're seeing around philadelphia is lighter precipitation, most of it just to the south of the city. although to the western delaware county we're starting to see that. the lighter shade of green is the lightest precipitation, the light sprinkles and showers. every now and then toward wilmington there's darker shade of green that pops up. final down the shore there's a second system as we take a look at the movement of this from west to east, a second system that is developing off the delmarva, producing heavier rain off the coast of south jersey
