"action news" at 12:30 continues with rick williams, sara bloomquist, and meteorologist, david murphy. >> hello again sara is off. here are the stories we are following for you now on "action news" at 12:30. president trump will be arriving in las vegas in minutes and we are learning more about the people that lost their lives in the concert shooting massacre. two men gunned down at lunch time in the delaware valley and the shooter got away. we are live with the investigation, and she refused to get her son vaccinated after the divorce and now sent to jail. >> now the details, president trump set to land in las vegas in the next half hour or so. he and the first lady are going to pay their respects and thank the police officers that responded to the shooting massacre. in the meantime we are learning more about the killer. they learned he was stockpiling

weapons since 1982. and he open the fire for 10 minutes on a crowd at a country music crowd below. the attack killed 59 people and wounded more than 500. a show of solidarity this morning on capitol hill. and some locked arms as they walked down to rally for more gun control. former congresswoman, gabrielle giffords says that stopping gun violence takes courage. >> i saw great courage when my life was on the line. >> now is the time to come together be responsible. democrats, republicans, everyone. we must never stop fighting. >> today's democratic rally came after the republican leaders made it clear that congress will take no action on gun legislation in the wake of the massacre in las vegas. we are learning more about the

innocent people that lost their lives in vegas many of them still in the hospital. >> reporter: a nation in mourning paying tribute as family and friends begin sharing stories honoring their loved ones lost in the massacre. >> i'll never see my baby girl again. i loved her so much. >> among the dead rhonda laroque. and a police officer and navy veteran. >> a good ball fun lovings. >> anna is a mother of three and sonny milton at the concert with his wife heather and could feel the moment he was shot. >> we fell to the ground and i was talking to him and he was still breathing at the time and then he stopped.

>> and emerging the the harrowing story of survival. >> trampling over each other. it was pretty much a war zone. >> so many grateful to the strangers and the first responders that risked their lives to save others. mckenna perry says she is alive thanks to her boyfriend and good samaritan. >> my boyfriend started to help me, he carried me a bit of the way and then this couple that helped us and got us into his truck. >> and out of respect for the victims some performers are canceling concerts including j. lo and jason aldean who was on the stage when the shooting erupted. abc news washington. and this reminder, "action news" anchor, jim gardner, will continue his reports from las vegas today. live once again starting on "action news" at 4:00.

in other news bail is set at $5 million for the new jersey man accused of causing his own son's death trying to escape police. that he stole speakers from a store in bucks county while he was trying to get away he ran a red light in levitt town parkway and the 2-year-old son was thrown from the suv. the child died from his injuries and he tries to runway and they captured him nearby. and now they are looking for the gunman that opened fire in broad daylight shooting and killing two men. we have since learned the identities of the victims. lehigh valley correspondent, walter perez is live at the scene along north 4th street with more. >> reporter: yesterday's murders marked the second mid-day shootings in allentown in the past two weeks and this time around the authorities are hoping that the public can help

find the person or people responsible. a quiet fall afternoon in allentown turn nood a double murder scene at the corner of 4th and washington streets that two men were standing near the intersection when someone opened fire a bit past noon yesterday. the two victims are identified as richard vera and keith minik both from allentown. witnesses reported seeing two men running from the area. norma cruz says she heard the gunshots and couldn't be what they saw when she went out side. >> this was the first time she saw violence in this neighborhood and seeing the victims on the sidewalk after the shooting was nothing short of horrific. >> reporter: now, the deaths of sera and minik mark the 12th and 13th homicide in allentown this

year. from our new jersey newsroom no word yet if classes will be held at pine lands regional after school was closed to allow for more testing. the acting superintendant kept kids home to conduct air quality tests. questions were brought up from a construction project at the high school. tests a month ago did not detect anything harmful. higher hotel taxes will be one way that lawmakers try to resolve a month old budget stalemate and raising it from 6% to 11% last night. that leaves philadelphia with one of the highest state combined taxes, they passed a $32 billion budget over the summer but did not agree how to close a $2.2 billion revenue hole. turning to the forecast at this hour. another nice warm afternoon outside.

vegas where the president and first lady as arrived. there on the tarmac in las vegas and the president is set to meet with the more than 500 people hurt and first sponsors and police and the president talked to public officials as well and before he left he said it was a sad day and paid his respects after one of the deadliest mass shootings in american history. once again, president trump arriving in las vegas to meet with the more than 500 people in the massacre and loved ones of the victims and first responders, more on the president's visits to las vegas and jim gardner will have more as well on "action news" beginning at 4:00. in other news a detroit mother was sentenced to seven days in jail for refusing to vaccinate her son and rebecca was sentenced for being in contempt of court. and has one week to get her son

vaccinated after court orders, saying she would vaccinate the boy. her ex-husband wants her son vaccinated but she is the primary care giver for the son and he has temporary custody to get the child vaccinated while she goes to jail. country singer, jason aldean canceled the concerts he planned for this weekend. he was on stage when the mass shooting happened in las vegas and he is still coming to terms on what happened that night. singer jennifer lopez decided to cancel her performances, she canceled her shows at sands resort and casino and says she is heart broken over the tragedy and keeping the victims and families in her heart. and grace knox fell 12 feet

into the sewer and stood in a foot of rushing water before a passerby heard her cries for help. >> want to say to him personally thank you and god bless you for that. >> grace was taken to the hop with a broken ankle and low body temperature. it's still not known why the hole was not covered though. a spokesperson for the city of buffalo says that crews were not doing sewer work at the time. protesters voiced their concerns about privacy concerns about revealed plans for drones in that area. police say that the drones are used during specific events such as hostage, natural disasters and searches for armed individuals. and only 6% favored the department's planned use of the drones and aivecilan panel plans to post the guidelines and get more input from the public.

meteorologist, karen rogers is back here with a closer look at the unseasonably warm accuweather forecast. >> ready to go to the beach or swimming. >> when i show up they are pulling out of the driveway. >> that is true. look agent stormtracker 6 live double scan we are dry through the area, and looking good, and feeling great out there. let go on outside. if you like fall it's not feeling like fall. we are live in cape may why not go to the shore? when temperatures are this nice. only a couple of people out there you can have the beach to yourself. that is my kind of day. 70 degrees in the city and the dew point is 55 and still down there, meaning pretty comfortable and the wins are out of the west-southwest and the temperature is falling and ocean temperature 68. we hardly have a cloud in the sky. you get the idea, look agent this, it's not staying that way.

the last day you see the wall-to-wall sunshine and a front comes through dry and a moisture starved front and washes out of the region and adds clouds to the region and a wider look and the progression of the fronts and ahead of that a southwesterly flow and allowing the temperatures to bump up. and today is even warmer than yesterday. at 2:00, 75 degrees, that is where we sat the last couple of days and upper 70s today and 78 for the high and 4:00, 77 and 6:00, 75 and 8:00, dipping down to 68 and 8:00, 65 degrees. tomorrow that front kind of lingers in our area and adds clouds to the picture and we'll see sunshine though, warm and 83 degrees and feeling like summer and a bit more humid and you'll feel the humidity noticeable over the next several days. we continue to follow what is now tropical depression 16 and it became that at 11:00 this morning and expected to develop

into tropical storm nate later today. we watch the development as it moves through nicaragua and the caribbean sea and the gulf of mexico of and potentially becoming a hurricane status as it impacts areas near panama city in florida and pretty quickly that sunday morning, dissipates after that. this area of low pressure this is a look at monday morning we begin to see the rain spread into our region and tropical rain coming your way early next week. here is your exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast nice and sunny today our quiet weather continues not so much tomorrow tomorrow the summer returns and warms up to 83 and a few more clouds in the picture, a nice day and feeling unseasonably warm and tomorrow partly sunny skies and 81 and maybe a shower around and a good 15 degrees above average and 84 is the high on sunday and huld with a shower around for the eagles game and monday we expect to get the soaking rain and back to you rick as we look at the rest are of the forecast.
