everybody will see snow moving in tonight. that transitions to a wintry mix tomorrow afternoon and continues into the evening hours. in general the area will see about 2 to 5 inches of snow and up to, not guaranteed, but up to a quarter of an inch of ice, and with that much ice we could be tracking power outages across the area. because of tomorrow's weather, high impact on your day. you want to avoid travel and, again, that snow changing over to sleet and freezing rain during the afternoon hours. here is the latest on storm team four radar. we are getting reports of snow hitting the ground in west virginia where you're seeing it on radar. so this storm right now is cooking. if it continues to travel at this speed, here are impact times. fredericksburg seeing snow around 8:50. washington at 9:30. wap dor waldorf at 9:30 as well. everybody is seeing snow by 2:00 a.m. tomorrow at lunchtime around noon, the metro still snow. areas north and west, still snow. the pink is already that wintry mix in parts of the northern ne

prolonged sleet and freezing rain. 3:00 we're still seeing areas of pink in the d.c. metro area at that point. future weather already wants to bring in rain to southern maryland by 5:00 p.m. still tracking potentially ice falling in parts of the metro area and up around fed rick ared loudoun counties. and then potentially a dry period. temperatur temperatures warm overnight. the ground is so cold from the last few days that i'm still concerned about those more rural areas seeing icy spots and bridges and overpasses could still be slick tuesday morning everywhere. that includes washington. we see rain falling throughout the day on tuesday, potentially some moderate to heavy rain at times. snowfall forecast by tomorrow night, one to three inches in southern maryland and parts of the northern neck but most of the area picking up three to five inches. higher amounts in the higher elevations around the i-81

we could see very little ice potentially in the metro area, and then down toward the south and east. maybe a tenth of an inch and a coating to a quarter of an inch of ice if you are under that winter storm warning. so a heads up for that. i'm more concerned about the ice and the snow, but as the snow moves in, it sticks immediately because it's so cold. the iciest time period is from 1:00 p.m. tomorrow until 9:00 p.m. tomorrow. some slick spots are still possible tuesday morning. temperatures warm throughout the day tomorrow, so by tuesday morning we're talking about a temperature around 33 and an afternoon high of 51. then, erika, quieter weather after that. next weekend, highs around 60 dloutio degrees. >> we need it. still ahead, john wall respect to represent for the wizards

good evening. the unexpected death of u.s. supreme court justice antonin scalia is reshaping the 2016 race for the white house. only three supreme court justices have died in office in more than 60 years, and only one has been confirmed during an election year since 1940. some gop presidential hopefuls are questioning president obama's established executive authority to nominate a replacement during this election season. however, the president has already said it will happen but in due time. kelly o'donnell is at the white house tonight and starts us off. >> reporter: today the silent display of respect across washington. but no pause before
