somebody tried to rush the stage today. the gop front-runner is giving his z version of the violent clashes in chicago. tonight, his opponents are pushing back, hard. chris picks up the action. >> reporter: tense moments at a saturdays morning trump rally in dayton, ohio. secret service agents surrounded the candidate after a protester tried to rush the stage. high alert after protesters and supporters clashed. trump pulled the plug on the rally before it began citing security concerns. two were injured. >> thank you, get them out. >> reporter: trump remained defiant using protesters of denying his first amendment right. >> we have 25,000 people coming. they stopped them in

dorothy has more. >> they are showing up at the high school. you can see the balloons and people hugging and bracing one another. she graduated from the high school in 2011, that's whyette's being held here. she was in honors chorus. people talked about what a beautiful singing voice she had. she was just 22 years old, visiting her half sister when they were shot and killed by jones' boyfriend who later took his own life. the murders happened in jones' apartment. the wounds are fresh and deep for the family. they want to take time to make sure she is remembered. >> it's very, very hard to accept the tragedy like this was something that everyone -- should have never happened. >> during times like these, it's important to lean on one

d.c. police are looking for the man in these pictures. they say he tried to rob the united bank on k street downtown. he walked into the bank friday afternoon in d.c. and demanded the money. when the employee went to the back room, the man went off without cash. he is seen with a black baseball hat and navy blue wo

a green light to a multiyear, multimillion dollar development in rosalyn. they will reduce the blocks. rosslyn will have five new buildings. a new park and street improvements. the work will be done in five phases over the next 25 years and will cost $2.5 million. if you love music and love to run, d.c. was the place to be for the fifth rock 'n' roll marathon. ♪ >> about 24,000 runners took part in the race. their trek through the city was fueled in part by the music seen there. a variety of bands lined the route. it started on constitution

the flood emergency continues in southeast louisiana tonight. emergency crews and volunteers work together to rescue people from the rising water. storm systems have been moving through the region since tuesday. more than 1,000 people have been rescued from flooded waters. it's not getting much national atengsz, but there is a contest in the presidential race. republicans are holding a convention. interest is so high, some people waited more than an hour to vote. >> reporter: the line to vote was about a block long. there are about 27,000 registered republicans in d.c. there are more voters who claim no party affiliation according to the board of elections number. >> it's a great chance to be involved. >> reporter: he's a rubio
