access.wgbh.org three norfolk 7-elevens robbed in the last hour! allison mechanic is live at the one on chesapeake boulevard-- the last one hit. this is the second time this 7-eleven was hit today--- norfolk police are now investigating four robberies at three different 7-11 stores in the city. two happened at a store on chesapeake boulevard - one just before 10- pm, it )s the same store that got hit overnight. another happened eight- 45 on redgate avenue in west ghent. and the other robbery happened at a store on colonial avenue. that makes three 7-elevens in norfolk robbed in the past 24- hours. just before 2-am - a

into the store on chesapeake boulevard - pulled a gun - and demanded money. the clerk wasn t fast enough for the robber --as moments later --he shoots the clerk. the clerk is expected to recover. now to the latest on the driver involved in a tractor trailer crash this afternoon - his rig went off the chesapeake bay bridge tunnel - brendan ponton joins us now live from sentara norfolk general - where the driver is recovering tonight - fire fighters tell me he was talking to them after getting

out of the water. but as you can imagine -- he was very cold his tractor trailer went off the bridge. (stop pkg 200 feet of guardrail missing or damaged along the chesapeake bay bridge tunnel. a tractor trailer driver plowed through it and fell into the waters below. the driver got out of the cab -- starting a rescue mission to save him. first -- crews from above dropped down a life jacket and rope. then -- police and firefighters from virginia beach got there. 13:27 when we first found the patient we was lying there in the police boat. had some pretty significant trauma so we brought him over to the fire boat and started doing temperatures around 45 degrees hypothermia. firefighters took the 35-year old on boat to the eastern shore sentara norfolk general you see him here in this stretcher. 17:45 he was alert he was talking to us the entire time he was definitely cold but he was doing very well crews were left behind to clean up the roadway. a lane headed southbound has been closed. this all happened near mile rker 14 -- closer to the eastern shore. rescue crews raced to get to the man -- and they re they did it in time. pretty much the job we do everyday. it was a unique
