breaking right now - police in four cities are investigating shootings that happened tonight - in newport news - police say the victim was not only shot - but also hit in the head with a hoverboard! it happened on forest lake court in the city )s east end just before 7:30. police say the victim was shot in the legs -- and also had a

injury from the hoverboard. he s in the hospital tonight. no word on any arrests. and portsmouth police are investigating a shooting too - they say a man walked into a convenience store on effingham street and asked for help around 8:30 - he d been shot. he )s in the hospital tonight - police are working to figure out what exactly happened - no word on his condition at this hour. more gunfire tonight--- in norfolk two people walked into sentara norfolk general with gunshot wounds. this happened just over an hour ago. we don )t have many details -- but police are investigating. and in chesapeake - police are investigating a shooting on border road around 5:30. they tell newschannel three one man was shot inside an apartment - he )s expected to survive. police aren )t releasing any information on a suspect or a motive at this hour. we )ll bring you more as it s available. rain and warmer temperatures on the way for the weekend - let s

all those clouds that have been hanging around the past few days will finally bring us some wet weather this weekend. the trade off: warmer temperatures! after a few evening showers on friday, most of saturday is looking dry. expect to wake up to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures in the mid 40s. but we will warm up into the upper 50s to around 60 in the afternoon. a few showers are possible before sunset, but it looks like the bulk of the rain will be moving in late saturday night and into the first part of sunday as an area of low pressure rolls up the coast. you may even be awakened by a stray thunderstorm early sunday morning. we are not expecting a big outbreak of severe weather, but an isolated severe storm is possible. most of the wet weather will end by early afternoon on sunday. and with a gusty southwest wind ahead of an approaching cold front, expect high temperatures well into the 60s. but once that cold front crosses the region, temperatures will drop. a lot. we will wake up in the 30s on monday morning and only warm into the mid 40s in the afternoon, despite plenty of sunshine. tuesday may be a few degrees warmer in the afternoon, but then temperatures drop again. many of us may not get out of the 30s on

in norfolk -- more reaction tonight to the indictment of norfolk s treasurer. anthony burfoot faces eight charges related to political corruption. newschannel 3 s brendan ponton spoke with the vice-mayor tonight. brendan - what )d she tell you? she called today a sad day for norfolk. she actually became vice mayor after burfoot when he was elected treasurer. tonight -- we re also hearing from burfoot )s side. his attorney says jealousy is the motivation of

strong words tonight from vice mayor angelia williams graves. she says she spent some time today reading through the 30-page indictment against anthony burfoot. the city treasurer and former vice mayor was indicted on political corruption charges. burfoot is accused of using his official city positions to help benefit a company called tivest development and construction l- l-c. in exchange -- the indictment says he was given hundreds of thousands of dollars, car payments and home appliances. outside of federal court today -- where burfoot made a court appearance in handcuffs -- the city treasurer )s attorney said it )s all not true. but vice mayor williams graves says it d take more than that to get a federal case. mayor paul fraim released a brief

assaulting a child on several occasions. they say he committed the crimes before he got his job at the department. investigators also say the crimes happened in york county in the 80 s anderson resigned after his arrest earlier today. new at 11 portsmouth police are looking for a man they say held up - then shot - a taxi driver on christmas eve. they released surveillance photos of the man. officers say he got into the taxi - and asked the driver to take him to two different locations - as they got to the second one - the suspect pulled a gun and demanded cash. when the driver got out and tried to run - that s when police say he was grazed in the arm by a bullet. if you recognize the suspect call the crime line, new tonight goodwill stores help those in need every single day -- but tonight the location on south lynnhaven road in virginia beach needs your help to find the two men police say caused a fire at the store in november. newschannel 3 s allison mechanic has the story.

released today by the virginia beach fire department -- you can see two men with hooded jackets in the back of the lynnhaven goodwill store. you can see one of the men walk away from the business -- while the other heads over to a pile of donated items -- and lights each of them on fire! the man takes his time -- making sure each flame he lights catches. and when one box doesn )t light -- he puts it directly into the flame. destroying items that were meant to help others. 1:50:18 that could have benefited another family is just very hurtful. rosalin olds lives near the goodwill store and knows how much the store helps those in need. 1:50:58 ive needed help from the goodwill before and had to come here at one time to get my kids clothes and to find out that someone did this to someone in the community its just really hurtful. not only did the fire destroy the donated items -- it also damaged the back of the store, a door and an awning. in response to the surveillance footage being released -- a goodwill spokesperson had this to say about the arson. )we are thankful that no was seriously injured and that the damage was only minor. without donations from our generous community goodwill could not provide individuals with obstacles to employment with the job training and career services they need to find and maintain meaningful employment in our community. we ask that if anyone has more information

the virginia beach police. and if you know who these two men are -- take action against crime and call the crimeline. in virginia beach im allison mechanic newschannel 3. in norfolk a crime line tip leads police to the suspect in a robbery and shooting at a 7- eleven. officers arrested 38- year-old kevin bristow late this afternoon. police say bristow held up the store on chesapeake boulevard early wednesday morning-- and shot the clerk. newschannel three showed you the surveillance video. police say after we showed that video -- someone called the crime line and that s how police made the arrest. there were three other 7- eleven robberies that same day! one of those robberies happened at that same store. the others happened at a 7-eleven on

after starting off 2-4 they made it out of the nfc east and play green bay for the wildcard match up this sunday. and theyre real excited that they )re proving the doubters wrong. at the beginning of the season - no experts predicted washington to win the division - and here they sit at week 18 in the playoffs. and this week its no different. apparently experts are split on who will win. we will see! but one thing we know is head coach jay gruden is putting all his money on kirk cousins. he led the team to win five of their last six games completing nearly 75 percent of his passes, throwing 19 touchdowns against just two picks and averaging 277 yards per outing. its a one game season for both

he )s the first monarch to play in an nfl game. nfl players---those guys are pretty tough---well this next story is about someone pretty tough in a different sport. and she s just 12. summer bronco is a muay thai fighter from virginia beach arts world. nats - fight its not the most girl.... summer i guess i tried other sports before and they didnt really fit me i tried ice skating and basketball and i just wasnt really good at it but when i tried muay thai it kind of fit meit more than kind of fit her - 6 national titles later... summer bronco has made quite a name for herself in the sport. so much so that girls her age dont even want to get in the ring with her. coach old its really hard for her to find opponents that are her age that want to fight her you know because shes at such a high level now thats shes forced to fight at a higher age groupso shes fighting girls 3 to 4 years older

winning belts. coach when shes fighting she is definitely a different person here shes just regular old summer just your normal 12 year old you know just cheerful happy goofy but when shes in the ring she flips that switch and shes a beast nats - hitting mats summer im actually really silly nice person but when i get in the ring you know i just have.. something just clicks and i just get aggressive so what do her friends at school think about having such a tough classmate? summer they get really excited thir like what it muay thai?! and i tell them its like thai boxing you do elbows punches knees kicks and their like wow thats really cool i show them picture i brought in a fight before to show my class and they thought it was really cool summers had seven years of practice... she picked up the sport when she was just five years old. summer when i first started obviously i wasnt that good i thought id be really good at the sport and thought i would go on successfully in this sport so i kept doing it i didnt want to give up on it and im here

richmond international raceway announced they would be taking out nearly 10- thousand seats along their backstretch this winter. that caused concern from nascar fans about the future of the

but track officials have been reassuring their fans this is merely the first step in a revitalization process for a facility that turns 70 years old next year. track president dennis bickmeier has explained why removing some of the least desirable seats on his backstretch will hopefully create some tension and demand for tickets and open up the area for other amenities like rv parking...corpor ate hospitality and kid friendly fan areas. plus from a logistical standpoint....havi ng fans more concentrated towards the front stretch gives them the view they want and helps the facility better serve those who come to each event... bickmeier says: "there aren t a lot of amenities on the backstretch here or at a lot of other racetracks where you ve seen those stands go down. this gets people closer to the midway, closer to where we have good circulation with trams, trolleys and things that we can move people around and parking. a lot of people want to get in and our pretty quickly." so basically dont worry! there will still be great nascar in richmond. whats on this weekend? first
