areas. today is mostly sunny and pleasant with highs in the low to mid 70s, low humidity, and a light easterly breeze. tonight is another clear and chilly night with lows in the 50s and a calm wind. new this morning.. a man is in the hospital after being shot near 20th and nash. police say it happened just before two this morning. what led to the shooting is unclear.. but the 26-year-old man was taken to a local hospital. his injuries are said to be serious.. but he's expected to survive.

flynn says guns on the street are a major contributor to the high murder rate -- last month the police department seized 211 guns. one person is seriously hurt after a major crash on northbound 7-94 at oklahoma avenue. witnesses say they say heard screaming and saw the truck fly off 7-94, landing on oklahoma avenue. the milwaukee county sheriff's office says the crash happened j midnight. the driver had to be cut out of the vehicle. a mount pleasant woman is facing an owi this morning for allegedly driving drunk with her two young children in the car with her. mount pleasant police say 27 year old julia mckim jarslberg was going east on durand avenue when she pulled out in front of another car while she was turning left onto oakes avenue. jarlsberg also took down a light pole. police tell us the kids are just 6 and 8 years old. both drivers and the children were treated at the scene.

per hour with the storm surge reaching up to eight feet. scientists say they've found three existing drugs that could be useful in the fight against zika. experiments so far have only been done in petri dishes.. but the results were dramatic.. even reversing some of the damage previously thought impossible. the researchers will test the drugs in animals next. if that's successful.. they'll begin human testing. a student at western kentucky university is in disbelief after finding vandalized with a racial slur. the student says when she got out of class.. she found the n- word carved into her doors and a flat tire. the university president says the person responsible will be held accountable. no one has been charged. the national guard unit in texas makes a very unusual rescue. this apache helicopter experienced mechanical issues and was forced to land in a field. but.. it got stuck in the mud. the national guard had to use another helicopter

a criminal investigation is underway after a camera is found inside a bathroom at a car dealership in michigan. police say a female employee found the camera and immediately turned it over to them. the owner of the dealership says he's disturbed.
