appeared to contain pipe bombs near a new jersey transit station. according to the city's mayor, the device exploded as the bomb squad's robot was cutting wires.the device was found in a backpack and contained as many as five explosives.the pack was found in a garbage-can by two men who thought it may have contained valuables. when they saw what was inside they reported it to police. it comes after a bombing saturday night injured 29 people in manhattan. in minnesota isis is claiming reponsibity for a stab rampage at a mall in investigators say the man was a soldier of the islamic state. nine people were stabbed. an off-duty officer later confronted... the suspect... before shooting and killing him. police officers were seen carrying photos, electronic devices, and other materials out of an apartment in saint cloud. they plan to execute a search warrant for a second apartment in happening today:milwaukee is one of two cities at the center of a lawsuit that could

court today and focuses on taxis and ridesharing. rebecca klopf is live at the taxi stand outside the pfister hotel with more. vince and susan..the question is... are cabs allowed to be protected from other businesses.. like the popular ridesharnig services uber and lift. a federal court of appeals will hear the cases if from milwaukee... the other is from both ca cases... entreprenuears have teamed up to fight for their right to compete against cab the lawsuit brought by the ridesharing groups they say outdated regulations keep the number of taxis on the streets artificially low... resulting in long waits, poor service, and, in many neighborhoods, a complete inability to call or hail a milwaukee... the taxi industry is arguing that allowing more competition is itself unconstitutional.

final say.the hearing starts this morning at 9-30 in chicago.reporting downtown... rebecca klopf today's tmj4. a former brookfield choir director is making his first appearance in court today. philip olson is is charged with embelezment... accused of stealing almost 50 thousand dollars from the choir department. investigators claim he admitted to using the money to pay off personal credit cards and to gamble with. olson was fired from the school a menomonee falls man who pleaded guilty fleeing the scene is expected in court.31-year-old adam neuhaus pleaded guilty in july to hitting 50-year-old keith habenicht who was out for a nighttime bike ride in august of last year. neuhaus was charged with homicide by negligent operation and hit and run. governor walker is back in the presidential race... this time to help mike pence, practice. walker is practicing with donald trump's running mate, to help pence prepare for his

president barack obama will attend several events in new york city today.. all surrounding the united nations general assembly.president obama will first attend a fundraiser and breakfast roundtable for the democratic senatorial campaign committee. he'll then head to a meeting with the prime minister of iraq.. before closing the day with a meet-and-greet at united nations headquarters.

today as the bridgegate trail is set to begin. bridget anne kelly and bill baroni are charged with conspiracy and fraud in a nine-count alleges they arranged lane closures that caused gridlock on the george washington bridge in 2013. the closures delayed commuters for hours and left emergency vehicles slow to respond. prosecutors say the two defendants planned the lane closures as revenge on a mayor who refused to endorse christie for in chicago all officer on patrol will have 2018. this comes as the city's murder rate continues to reach all time highs. 2016 is the city's deadliest year in two decades.chicago's homicide rate is now higher than new york and los angeles. clean up is under way for a family in arizona after a plane crashed into their house. it happened over the weekend. the pilot of the plane was able to bail out before crashing into the house. two people were inside the house at the time of the crash. luckily they did not suffer
