remains breezy overnight with rain showers likely. two teenage two teenage girls are recovering this morning from a dog attack in brown deer. police say two pit bulls attacked the girls near 48th and dean yesterday afternoon. officers immediately shot and killed one of the dogs.the second dog was also shot -- after officers say it tried to attack them.animal control picked up the second al owner's request. a neighbor describes what happened. to kill herone of the girls clothes was ripped all up they was really trying to kill her another neighbor told us: one of the dogs tried to attacker her while she was walking her while she was attacker her while she was walking her dogs earlier this week.the girls in yesterday's attack are expected to be okay. the man who shot and killed laylah petersen faces more petersen faces more than 60 years behind bars.a jury just convicted carl barrett for the

1-30 this afternoon the cost of owning a car in milwaukee could double -- if county executive chris abele gets his way.abele is proposing a 60 dollar regisration fee in his 20-17 budget.the so-called "wheel tax" would help pay for busses. abele said the tax is the county's only option because of cuts in state funding. suburban residents would be hit with a wheel tax for the first time... while city of milwaukee residents are already paying 20 dollars per car. with the 75 dollar registration for the state... one of milwaukee's largest employers is laying off 100 people this year and "hundreds" more next year. northwestern mutual blames the job cuts on low interest rates. the company has not detailed how many positions will be eliminated in milwaukee.northwestern mutual is currently building a new 450 million dollar skyscraper near the lakefront no word this morning on when bucks president peter feigin will reschedule a speech at

matthew is hurricane hurricane matthew is moving through the caribbean this morning -- as a category 2 storm -- the national weat service says the storm continues to strengthen ... packing 100 mile per hour winds.it could become a major hurricane later in the day. today, the tulsa officer charged with shooting and killing a black man will be arraigned in court officer betty shelby is charged with first degree manslaughter in the shooting death of terence crutcher.chopper video shows crutcher with his hands up prior to the shooting.officer shelby said he was acting erratically, and tried to grab something out of his car. wells fargo still reeling

illegal for drivers to hold their phones while in a construction zones. wisconsin department of transportation said this law will help crack down on law will help said this law will help crack down on distracted driving. i spoke with d-o-t and state patrol on how they'll enforce this rule. "first violation is 162.70 and four points against your wisconsin driving status. second violations within a 12 month period, you're looking at an additional 40 dollars, that takes you over 200 dollars and again another four points."to help drivers avoid the fine, dot and state patrol are working toge the word out"we're really working hard by putting messages up on our dynamic message sign, pushing through social media and other avenues to make sure everybody is aware of that, that this is going into affect."according to the dot using a mobile device is a factor in one out of every four crashes nation wide, so this law gives workers a sense of security. as a mom of soon-to-be drivers tracy nickolaus says this will only help the next generation of drivers. "if its a law, and it's something that they have to abide it'll be taught in driver's ed. it'll be taught
