team 4 meteorologist brian gotter-- should we just stay inside all weekend?! yesterday was another november treat with hazy sunshine and record breaking highs near 72 thanks to a southerly wind to 20 mph. the wind increased overnight, and that kept temps in the upper 50more than 10 degrees above the normal high temp. as a powerful storm syst minnesota, we will remain in the warm sector of the storm with highs in the mid to upper 60s, increasing clouds, and a few late afternoon and evening showers. the main issue today is the sw wind gusting to 40 mph. the wind shifts to the nw this evening with gusts to 40mph and temps dropping into the lower 30wind chills will be in the teens. there is a chance for a light overnight and early saturday morning with no accumulation. drive times are on time traffic is steady no incidents

the superintendent of milwaukee public schools will share an update this morning on a proposed shift in the school year calendar. the school year would start - and of course end - earlier. pete zervakis is live to explain. at mps's traditional calendar schools this year classes started september 1st... and run through june 9th. a proposal befohe start of the school year to mid august. if approved... classes would end in may. the district says that would help students land internships... and allow them to take classes that didn't fit into their schedule during a four week "j-term" in june. since november 1st... m-p-s says it's been gathering feedback from parents on the proposal. there have been listening sessions... and families can share thoughts in a survey on
