11:13 pm
of traffic and other laws and so i don't know where the line is. >> it's probably not even true. we'll still read. it. >> reporter: in hollywood, adam housley, fox news. wendy's is replacing its famous value menu and we have a preview of the crowds expected inauguration day. shawn yancy has your fox 5 top five. >> up first tonight, brian, another fast food chain is hiking prices on value deals. no. 5, wendy's is replacing its 99- cent value menu with the right price right size menu. prices range from 99 cents to $1.99. the company blames the rising cost of ingredients and says the change will give dupers more options and wendy's more flexibility -- customers for options and wendy's more flexibility on pricing. no. 2, a cdc survey of more than 150,000 drivers found one out

as a second chance to witness history and brian, that's a look at tonight's fox 5 top five. got a nice dry stretch if you want to wash the car. >> you can absolutely do it. there will probably be a long line, but temperatures will be on the cool side the next couple days. maybe next week we can push our way toward 50 degrees, not bad at all for january. let's look at what's going on out there tonight. what's going on out there is a big drop in temperatures as we did last night. we're likely going to see some places bottoming out in the upper teens. we certainly had a cold start today, too. we didn't hit 40 degrees in the district. 38 degrees was our high. it was only 25 for the high temperature in boston. so real cold up here through the northeast, buffalo coming in at 31, chicago only 29 for the high temperature today and 19 in international falls. so much of the country really seeing this cold, but the worst of it definitely locked up
11:16 pm
through the northern plains where we would expect. it get to phoenix, 63, san diego 67 degrees. so the warmest spots no doubt florida once again with tampa at 74 degrees, but most of the country pretty chilly and tonight we've got a lot of that chill right over the district. 32 degrees is where we're at now, looking at 21 for manassas and culpeper, gaithersburg down to 28 degrees, baltimore 29 and it looks like we'll be in similar territory to last night. thought i'd widen out the picture to show you we have some of the coldest temperatures around, pittsburgh 28, binghamton 24, new york city 21 and chicago 20 degrees, very cold. we'll have a cold start overnight because of the temperatures that will drop into the upper teens and low 20s. in the district 29 degrees and tomorrow is another nice great day, probably a little warmer getting up to 42 degrees. we add in a little breeze from the west 10 to 15. that can feel chilly when your temperature is only 42 degrees.
11:17 pm
i have a feeling there will be a bit more sunshine tomorrow than today. check out the planner for friday, chitter 1 degrees at 8 a.m. -- 31 degrees at 8 a.m., but some of the suburban areas will still be in the low and mid- 20s, by the noon hour 39 degrees and 4:00 40 degrees with plenty of sunshine. temperaturessed an the region tomorrow, 42 dulles, 38 for martinsburg and 36 in hagerstown, 33 for cumberland, 37 winchester and playing a bit of a breeze, not a wind, but a noticeable west breeze. check out futurecast because we'll roll through friday on the dry side and the only thing that will change saturday, notice the deck of clouds that starts coming through in the late evening and into the overnight hours. so that will protect us from getting real cold overnight, a little mountain snow trying to develop sunday, but it looks like our sunday will be dry. that's great news for the skins and their fans. it looks like that temperature will be fairly comfortable as well. your fox 5 accuweather seven-
11:18 pm
day forecast, a couple more days in the low 40s and real cold nights. check this out for sunday, 46 degrees. i think kickoff temperature will be 45 for the skins and seahawks, monday about 44 degrees, still thinking we keep it dry and close to 50 tuesday and wednesday, but i would not be surprised if some showers tried to work their way into the forecast wednesday and we expect a few around thursday as well. we'll keep an eye on the middle part of next week and lindsay murphy is here to keep an eye on what's going on as we get ready for that big playoff game sunday. here's her report. >> thank you. the seahawks defense knows they'll have -- the seahawks defense knows they'll have their hands full on sunday. skins defense has a huge task ahead, russell wilson drafted in the 3rd round out of wisconsin was thought to be bakeup to matt given, but wilson was -- gwynn, but wilson
11:19 pm
was named the starter back in august. wilson had 26 touchdown passes this season. he led seattle to an 11 win season. >> he's one of the best quarterbacks in the league to me. i mean just what he's able to turn around that team, similar- type quarterback with similar scheme. he's almost just like rg3, athletic, get outside the pocket. >> he's a great creator, magician especially when he gets out of the pocket and is able to extend plays and find guys open and hit guys down the field and using his athleticism and quickness to do that. we have to do a great job as pass rushing to keep him in the pocket, corral him as best we can and get him on the ground and not give him a second chance. >> last sunday the redskins celebrated the 14th division title with a 10 point victory over the cowboys. the team turned last year's 5- 11 record into a 10-6 finish this season as they rubbled off seven straight wins to finish
11:20 pm
the regular season schedule, but this team has yet to celebrate their accomplishments. it was a very subdued celebration in the blocker room following the game and ex- redskin gary clark explains why. >> the key is to go to the show and what i like about what they're doing is we won the division, which is great. at the end of the day i got to win my next playoff game, my next playoff game, my next playoff game, you know. so the goal is to win the show and it's been a long time since we've won the show here. redskins have been in existence over 80 years. we've only got three super bowls. it's very, very hard to do. coming up this sunday on fox more from gary clark on a special pregame snow at 3:30. at 4 . the fox net -- show at 3:30. a at 4 p.m. the fox network pregame show and the kickoff at 4:30. when we come back the hoyas

the hardwood saturday at marquette as big east conference play gets underway. the hoyas went 10-1 to begin the season losing only to the top ranked hoosiers and while the hoyas have struggled offensively at times, the head coach and players know what works to stay in the win column. >> we've worked on rebounding. we want to get very good at that, especially offensive rebound. we can get a second chance. >> you know, i think the 1 thing we want to stay consistent -- the 1 thing we want to stay consistent about is our defense which i don't think you can do offense all you want, but at the end of the day defense is pretty consistent. good news for wizards fans. despite falling to 4-26 last night, the team won today as john wall practiced for the first time this season. his return just may be in the near future. that's a wrap on sports, but the news edge will be right back. good night. initiated.
