>> looks like it could be busy this afternoon. how about this morning erin. >> the roads are dry but we have the final surge of safe track impacting the red line at 5:00 a.m. we'll check in with that. >> thank you. first this morning we are following a story about a devastating discovery on father's day. fairfax county police finding a body in a residential neighborhood in sterling they believe may be a missing 17-year-old girl. >> investigators searched all day after she was reported missing. our melanie alnwick is live in sterling this morning with the very latest. good morning, mel. >> reporter: good morning. this was a joint effort between fairfax down police and the loudoun county sheriff's office. the teen disappeared about 4:00 a.m. sunday. she left the adam center here just after an early morning event with a group of friends. now, neighbors tell us that she went to south lakes high school and was active in the all dulles area muslim society

they say the group was going get a bite to eat before beginning their daily fast for ramadhan. they were walking along drainsville road when a man in a car drove up to them. there was an argument. a family friend tells fox5 the man got out and started swinging a baseball bat. they all ran but nabra disappeared. there was a day long search with helicopter k-9 and rescue teams. about 3:00 p.m. the body of a female was found in a fond sterling about 10 minutes from where nabra was last seen. during the search officers stopped a car that was driving as they say suspiciously. 22-year-old darwin martinez torres was arrested as a suspect and later charged with nabra's murder. back out live here at the adams send, this incident really has just broken. everybody's hearts even have a have a attorney general mark hherring put out a statement about this saying the adam center has always welcomed me and nome northern vir

courtroom today. 24-year-old edgar garcia, his brother roger garcia and josé canal less yanez are charged with first degree murder. police say retaliation appears to be the motive for the killings. investigators say shadi was resume to have robbed one of the suspect's wives of an ipad last december. police say the night of the shooting suspect roger garcia lured najjar to the shooting scene by arranging to buy his leftover graduation tickets. montgomery county police are still trying to find out the other man was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. >> the congressman's condition has been upgraded from critical to serious. the house majority whip has been in the hospital since a gunman opened fire on the congressional baseball team last

scalise was one of five people shot at a teen practice on -- team practice on wednesday. since then he's had several surgeries. the hospital says scalise is responsive and speaking with his family. the section of alexandria where the shooting took place is beginning to return to normal. streets have reopened around simpson pack on east monroe avenue. the park is also back opened except for the large baseball field. that's scheduled to reopen with a ceremony this afternoon followed by a youth baseball all-star game. >> ♪ >> president trump is not -- now believed to be under investigation according to a member of the president's legal team. during a -- shows on sundays political talk shows attorneys jseculo says president trump is not under investigation for obstruction of justice. his statement comes despite a washington post report which claims special prosecutor robert mueller is widening the probe into the 2016 election to
