process from t.s.a. agents especially when it comes to laptops and electronic devices and this morning here at dulles international we see the typical long summer lines that is to be expected but because of these new screening process rules, they're saying úthat these lines could be even worse. they're saying that this is going to be a tighter screening process for every international flight entering the country so agent its are going to be more thoughtful, they're going to be more careful with screening passengers and luggage especially personal electronic devices and they're specifically doing this for the fear of possible explosives. this announcement follows multiple new threats related to explosives hidden in electronic devices and the u.s. has already banned laptops on flights to the u.s. originating at 10 airports in the middle east and north side africa because of these fears that bombs could be concealed in these devices and u.s. security officials say that if the airports do not comply with the new tighter security, that passengers could actuall

laptops and personal devices onto the flights and they tone want to do this because clearly that could cause logistical concerns for passengers might deter travel so in hopes of preventing something like that, a ban from happening, they're going tighten up those security screenings at area airports so expect longer lines. back to you in the studio. >> all right, annie, thank you. 5:04 is our time. senate majority leader mitch mcconnell is trying to send a revised version of the senate's bill to the congressional budget office by tomorrow. now, this in an attempt to push for a vote before congress' august recess. comes as some republicans are reportedly frustrated with what they call president trump's lack of understanding of the bill's principles. >> ♪ >> we have a follow-up to a story you first saw here on for. this morning there are new developments stemming from allegation of grade fixing in public schools in prince george's county. the county's ncaa p chapter is asking the county executive to stop

maxwell's contract pending the outcome of the grade fixing allegations. hundreds of prince george's county school employees were placed on administrative leave sole based on the suspicion of wrongdoing. in every case dr. maxwell removed these teachers from their buildings out of an abundance of caution and feared the employees would interfere with the investigation. we believe dr. maxwell should be held to the same standard imposed on these employees. meanwhile prince george's county school ceo dr. kevin maxwell spoke to fox5 exclusively yesterday morning after they approved the hiring of outside investigators to look into these allegations. >> i want to resolve this matter. there is no systemic corruption. there's nothing from me or anyone who is on my direct team that is telling people that they should do anything illegal. >> it's unclear when the investigation will start but dr. maxwell says he is fully cooperating. the state board of education president tells us they want it done soon. the state has to first go through aid

using new technology including ct scans at some airports to get passengers through security a little quicker. the enhanced screening protocol will impact flights from 280 locations. these changes are set to take effect within 120 days. >> ♪ >> 5:33 right now. let's get to some more developments stemming from allegation of grade fixing in prince george's county public schools. it's a story fox5 has been staying on top of since we first broke it more than a week ago now. >> the county's naacp chapter is now asking the county's executive not to renew the contract for schools ceo dr. kevin maxwell. the request comes after the state board of education voted to begin an investigation into the allegations. >> melanie alnwick live in upper marlboro this morning with more details. good morning, mel. >> reporter: good morning and that also comes after school ceo dr. kevin maxwell was reappointed for a second term by county executive rushern baker. that happened back in march and that also made dr. kevin maxwell the superintendent -- the only one to reach

term in more than 25 years. the county school board at the time applauded the reappointment of dr. maxwell saying continued growth of the school system is best served with him at the helm. now after those allegations of grade fixing and records manipulation the prince george's county naacp wants to put ahold on the second term. its members are asking county executive baker to call dr. maxwell the interim ceo until the state investigation is completed. in the letter naacp president robert ross says dr. maxwell doesn't have the confidence of the community parents or students and that the problem would be made worse by in their words continued tolerance of dr. maxwell's unbridled conduct. now, speaking to fox5 for the first time since four board members brought their complaint to the governor dr. maxwell strongly denied the allegations and said he welcomes an independent investigation. >> and i don't disagree with investigating 'cause again i want to resolve this matter. there is no systemic corruption, nothing from me or anyone who is on my direct
