>> abc 11 eyewitness news at 6:00 starts now. tisha: raleigh police laying out their version of the shooting that left akiel denkins dead. steve: the raleigh police report is out tonight three days after the shooting. it began on monday when d.c. twiddy chased akiel denkins while trying to serve an arrest warrant.

d.c. twiddy fired shots when he saw akiel denkins reaching for a gun and again when he tried to grab the officer's weapon. akiel denkins was hit by four bliss. tisha: this report winds up? reporter: the autopsy deals with how many shots were fired and when they had akiel denkins. the police report deals with what happened. it details a foot chase. witnesses talk about the finches. the police report talks about -- it describes the physical struggle. it describes the officer seeing

the officer feared for his life and fired more shots. that is the official police account. the autopsy says akiel denkins was hit four times. what it doesn't account for is where the bullets entered the body. he did they enter from the rear? that could pack this story we have heard in a neighborhood that akiel denkins was shot in the back. >> this is an open investigation. we will continue to do what we can to talk to the community. anytime you have an investigation like this, there will be forensic evidence. we have to wait for that. reporter: this report is not what the family or friends were anticipating. they have said throughout that

steve: this state is reassessing a contract for the company hired to build toll lanes. last night the company filed for bankruptcy protection on a similar project in texas. our attorney general roy cooper called it a [indiscernible] . the governor has to admit he cut a bad deal. the governor's campaign did not hesitate to fire back. ricky diaz says he faced a political opportunism. also says cooper is failing to take responsibility for the contract. tisha: charlotte's new bathroom ordinance continues to stoke passion. the city council approved an ordinance that would allow transgender men and women to use the bathroom they feel most comfortable with. tim moore is common for a special session to address the issue.
